《The End》Part 16: Normal

"Rosa, come on. We're going to Alaric's." Elena shouted from downstairs. Rosa groaned and pulled herself out of bed and quickly changed into a pair of and a pink shirt which she was pretty sure was Elena's. Rosa was sure Elena wouldn't mind.
"You know, some people like to sleep. They like to wake up after sunrise." Rosa complained as she entered the passengers side of Elena's car. They stopped to get breakfast for Alaric and then went to his apartment. "Did you hear about Bonnie's mom?"
"Yup, it's awful. I can't believe she left again."
"I know. Poor Bonnie." Elena nodded in agreement before stopping the car and getting out. Rosa quickly following after her.
"Are you wearing my shirt?"
"I was hoping you wouldn't notice." Elena raised her eyebrow. "You rushed me." Elena rolled her eyes before knocking on the door.
"Morning sunshine." The girls looked up to see Damon standing in the doorway.
"Nope, not today. Elena, you didn't say he was gonna be here." Elena looked at her sister and then to Damon. It was clear they weren't each other's biggest fans. More like Damon tolerated Rosa's annoyingness and Rosa hated Damon with a burning passion.
"I didn't think it mattered."
"It does. I hate him. Did he tell you about how he tricked me into going to the grill to be Klaus bait as a distraction. He could have killed me!" Rosa shouted at the two.
"But he didn't. You're still your lively and annoying self." Rosa glared at the vampire while he smirked.
"How's Alaric?" Rosa asked ignoring they're bickering. Elena was about to enter the apartment, but Damon blocked her.
"Indecent, but fine." The twins nodded.
"So then, does that mean there were no issues last night?"
"Nope. Slept like a baby, woke up Alaric. No head minds about dead council members." Damon told her.
"Then why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?" Damon shrugged.
"Well, maybe because you're being all paranoid and control freaky. What's you bring me?" Damon asks as he snatches the bag from Elena and sniffs it.
"What are you, a dog?" Rosa asked him. He smirked at her which only made her more irritated.
"Ooh, chocolate muffins. You know what they say; a way to a psycho killers heart is through his stomach." Elena rolled her eyes and took the bag back from Damon.
"They're not for you."
"Fine. Keep convincing yourself you're still mad at me. But sadly, Ric's gonna have to miss Elena and Rosie time today. You know lockdown and all." Rosa glared at the dark haired man. She hated when anybody besides her family called her Rosie.
"Just take it and give it to him and tell him that I miss him, ok?" Elena said as she handed Damon the bag of muffins. Both looked at Rosa for her to say the same.
"What? I don't miss him that much. It's so peaceful at the house now." Elena sighed.
"With pleasure." Damon told Elena referring to her previous statement.
"Please."
"I'm leaving." Rosa told her as Damon and Elena continued to talk. She was in no mood for Damon and she definitely didn't feel like watching they're weird flirting.

She assumed she would be waiting forever, but she heard the door slam and Elena came walking in a hurry.
"I wanna kill Damon." Rosa muttered.
"Same." Elena responded.
—
Later that day Elena, Rosa and Caroline were all walking in the woods. Rosa wasn't sure why she was here, considering that she hates hiking and bugs and woods and beau a lot everything that wasn't in the comfort of her own home. She wasn't expecting for Elena to tell Caroline that Alaric killed her dad.
"Alaric Saltzman killed my father?" Caroline asked.
"I can't expect you to be ok with this. But at least these herbs that Bonnie's giving him, they're healing him and they're keeping the dark side buried."
"Yeah, and that's supposed to make everything ok?" Caroline was obviously upset and Rosa didn't blame her. Elena grabbed onto Caroline's arm forcing Caroline to face her. She had tears in her eyes and looked like she was about to cry.
"No, Caroline, it's not ok. It's horrible and I feel horrible about it, but he's a victim of something supernatural, he didn't ask for this, it just happened to him. Just like Bonnie's mom, I mean she didn't ask to become a vampire. And neither did Stefan or Tyler."
"Or me." Caroline said in a weak voice.
"Or you. None of you asked for this, but who would I be if I just turned my back on any of you?" Rosa smiled at Caroline and she smiled back. Suddenly Caroline stood in between the twins and linked each other's arms. They all started to walk off.
"Oh, Elena Gilbert, savior of the cursed and damned." Caroline said and then looked to Rosa. "And Rosa Gilbert, I'm not sure why you're here, but I'm glad you arm." Rosa nodded and the three began to laugh.
Suddenly Matt appeared and Rosa let out a deep breath. "Hey. What's with the cryptic secret meeting text?" Matt asked.
"I don't know. Stefan just said to meet here." Elena told him.
"You invited him?" Rosa asked Elena.
"Yes, now stop." Rosa sighed.
After a little bit of waiting Stefan and Damon show led up and Rosa really didn't understand why she had to be here.
"Where's Bonnie?" Stefan asked. "I texted her too." He said.
"Um, Bonnie's mom bailed on her. Again. So, I think we should leave her out of this one." Caroline said in a sad voice. Rosa felt terrible about this. She wondered what it felt like to have a parent abandon you. Awful it would be.
"What are we doing here?" Matt asked.
"Yeah, why am I here?" Rosa added.
"We found some more white oak. Long story, wait for the movie." Damon said.
"Hang on. White oak? You have a weapon that can kill Klaus?" Elena asked them in disbelief. Rosa again was out of the loop. She thought he couldn't be killed.
"Nope, we all have a weapon." Stefan told them as he threw a black duffel bag on the ground. Inside it was filled with like colored stakes. "Klaus has always been one step ahead of us, but now we have the advantage. We're all armed and they are all linked, meaning we only need to kill one of them. We need to seize the best opportunity, which means we need to prepare for every opportunity." Stefan told them.

"Scenario number one." Damon said before grabbing Elena and moving her slightly. "You get to play Klaus."
"Ok." She responded.
"Rebekah is our target so we have to distract her and catch her off guard. To do that we need to keep Klaus separated and occupied." Stefan said. He looked around at everyone before his eyes landed on Rosa. She tried to avoid him, but everyone was now staring at her. "Rosa."
"No." She told them plainly. "Why is this my job?" She asked irritatedly.
"Because he's in love with you." Damon said. And then walked over to Rosa. "But for right now we need you to play Rebekah." He told Matt. "We use the quarterback to distract her. Just keep her talking."
"How?" The blonde asked.
"Act interested. She's lonely, desperate."
"Clearly, she slept with you." Caroline said and Rosa high fives her as she attempted not to laugh. Even Elena wore a grin.
"Hm. Beefcake holds bombshell. I come up from behind her." Damon says and then goes behind Caroline and grabs her arms, pulling them behind her back. "Grab her arms like this." Damon says instructing Matt on how to handle Rebekah.
"Ow!" Caroline yells. Stefan then comes up with the stake in his hand and pretends to stab Caroline in the chest.
"Gives me time for the shot." Stefan said. Damon let's go of Caroline and she rubs her arms and walked over to Rosa. "Got it? Good. So we all have one stake, we keep it hidden and we look out for any opportunity we have."
"No last minute attacks of pity for any of them." Damon says, looking at Elena.
"Don't worry about me. Not after what happened to Bonnie's mom." Elena tells him.
"Barbie?"
"Oh, I'm ready. Anything that will free Tyler from his side bond to Klaus."
"Busboy?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"Good point."
"Rosie?"
"I'll try." She said. And then under her breath she mumbled, "even though I've never even held a stake before."
"We have 12 stakes, 12 shots at killing on Original. We can do this. Alright, let's try another scenario. Elena grab a crossbow." Stefan says and hands her the crossbow. "Matt, you play Klaus." They nodded.
"Is now a good time to mention that I have no clue what I'm doing?" Rosa whispered to Caroline. She shrugged.
"I'll teach you later."
—
A while later Rosa, Elena, Caroline and Matt are hanging out in town square. Elena had just left another message for Bonnie telling her that they're worried and to call back.
"Me, Saltzman was like the most normal guy in town." Matt said.
"Yeah." Caroline agreed.
"Seriously? He was a weird history teacher by day, vampire hunter by night and has no friends his own age and you people think that's normal?" Rosa asked them and they all just shrugged.
"Is it weird that Bonnie's jot returning my calls?" Elena asks.
"No." Rosa tells her. Everyone looks at her for an explanation, but she just stands there.
"Is it weird that Klaus's brother is in the middle of town square?" Matt asks. They all look over to see Finn with a girl with red hair.
"That's Finn, I thought he left town." Elena says. They all look at Caroline who is now listening to the conversation with her vampire hearing. Rosa thought that if she ever became a vampire, having enhanced heating would be super cool. All the conversations she could spy on or maybe the running, but then again she hates running.
—
Elena was supposed to drive Rosa home, but instead they were sitting in town waiting for Stefan. Rosa was really starting to think that she should never get rides from people anymore.
"Hey. How is he?" Elena asks as she finds Stefan standing outside, looking at his phone.
"Hey. He's just banged up. Caroline's gonna stay with him and make sure Alaric stays Alaric. Matt texted me and said Finn is still in the grill. We need to plan our next move." Stefan told them.
"Wait, wait, Rebekah has Damon; our next move should be finding him." Elena said. Rosa could tell she was worried even though she was supposed to be mad at him.
"No, we need to stay on point. See an Original, kill an Original. That's the plan."
"Yeah, that was the plan before Damon's life was hanging on the balance." Rosa hated to admit it, but she kind of agreed with Elena. Damon should be safe before they do anything.
"Look, Elena, I understand that you're concerned about my brothers life, but if he even knew, for one second, that we are taking about missing a chance to kill these people he would lose his mind." Stefan said.
"Yeah, and if the roles were reversed he would stop everything to save you."
"She's got a point." Rosa said. The two looked at her and Rosa nodded and kept her head low, not interfering again.
"I know what my brother would want."
"What he would want and what we should do are two different things." Elena said.
"I have to agree." Rosa commented which earned another look from Stefan. "Sorry, shutting up now."
"You gonna help me with this or not?" Stefan asked Elena. He didn't even bother with Rosa knowing she wouldn't have been able to help even if she wanted to. Elena didn't say anything. "Ok, I'll figure it out myself." Stefan said before leaving.
"We're going to rescue Damon, aren't we?" Rosa asked.
"Yup. Let's go." Elena said and started walking to the car.
"Ugh! Why can't I just have a primal day and watch TV?"

The Ancient Tree's Journey
On a planet far away from Earth, an ancient tree lives inside a beautiful forest. When the tree realises that its life is coming to an end, it creates a seed without a soul. The seed begins a long journey, being passed from person to person, until it finally collides with the soul of a girl from Earth and sprouts. With her human knowledge, the girl tries to survive in this world... as a tree. Note: This is my first time writing a novel, so my writing style might be a little rough around the edges sometimes, especially the first twelve are still amateur style. I'll probably rewrite them at some point... later perhaps. Also, the MC will be introduced in chapter 13. The first twelve chapters are more of an introduction to the world, so they bear little significance to the main story. Still, I recommend reading it if you want to get a better view of the world. Chapter releases once every four days.
