《The End》Part 15: It's Crazy

Rosa and Elena had gone home not long after Caroline told Elena that Bonnie didn't want to see her.
"Hey Rosa, me and Matt are going for a run. Wanna come?" Elena asked at about 7 in the morning. Rosa groaned and pulled her covers over her face. "Rosa...Rosa...Rosa?"
"Oh my god, shut up. Do you even know me. I'm not a morning person and I'm definitely not a running person." Rosa mumbled into her pillow.
"Well you should be." Rosa shut her eyes and waited for her sister to close the door. When she finally did Rosa sat up in her bed. She didn't lie about not being a morning person, but she never even went to sleep last night. She couldn't. All she could think about was Klaus's hard grasp on her arm and the look on his face. He's a liar now too. He said he would never hurt her and it only took him a minute for that to change.
Rosa had heard from Elena last night that Alaric was framed for murder by Meredith. So much for a new girlfriend. She knew he was innocent, but she really didn't feel like going out in public right now.
She was relieved to see that Klaus hadn't called her. Maybe him being mad at her was a good thing. It meant he was done bothering her.
She did get one call from Rebekah, but Rosa hung up immediately. She had no clue why Rebekah would call her considering they have never spoken before except for the time at the gym which isn't exactly good memories.
Rosa didn't know if she was to harsh on Klaus. He was trying to be nice and she just shut him down, but Rosa decided he deserved that for all the pain he has caused to her and her friends and family. She at least deserved a chance to yell at him.
She didn't do anything the entire day including homework. She's pretty sure she hasn't done much of any school related things this year. She had to give Elena...and Caroline...and Bonnie and whoever else knew about vampires props. Keeping up with a normal life was hard when you had all this supernatural stuff going on. To be fair Rosa never really did much of school before anyway.
—
Rosa was cleaning her room when she got a call from Elena. She wasn't really in the mood to hear Elena complaining, but it would get her out of cleaning so she gladly excepted the call.
"Hello dear sister." She said.
"What's up with you?"
"Nothing. Why are you calling me?" She asked her.
"Me and Matt broke into dr. Fells house and—"
"Wait, you and Matt did what? Why is Matt there? Have you been hanging out with him all day? Ew, why?" She asked rapidly. Rosa heard her sister clear her throat and sigh.
"That's not the point and Rosa, Matt's right next to me and can hear you."
"Oh, sorry Matt." She said. Then in a whisper she said, "I'm not really sorry." Elena rolled her eyes and and Rosa could just imagine her annoyed expression. "Ok, so you broke into the creepy doctors house. Go on."

"Right so she had all of these files on the people who were killed and one on Alaric—"
"Ooh, suspicious."
"Can you let me talk?"
"Right, sorry."
"So we found this paper from the coroners office that said that the time of death for one of the people didn't match up, so we brought it to Sheriff Forbes."
"You brought it to her? Are you out of your minds? She's the police meaning she could arrest you. Aren't you supposed to be the smart sister?"
"Ok you're getting really annoying." Elena commented which out a soft smirk on Rosa's face. One of her hobby's was annoying Elena. "Apparently Meredith showed Sheriff Forbes already so Alaric is cleared."
"Ok, isn't that a good thing. You seem kinda sad. I don't like Alaric as much as the next guy, but he's cleared so what's wrong?" She asked her sister.
"Well besides some other reasons to be sad, I still don't trust her. Look, Rosa, I'll see you later, ok?"
"K, bye."
—
"You brought him home! He's not some lost puppy, Lena." Rosa said as she Matt handed Elena a cup of tea. "I want tea." She mumbled, but Elena just smirked at her.
"Just say it." She spoke to Matt.
"I just don't get it. Your thing with them." Matt told her.
"Me either. Wait, we're talking about Stefan and Damon right because her thing with them is plain weird." Rosa felt a slap on her arm but ignored her sister.
"I know it doesn't make sense, but at the beginning, after my parents died, there was something about being with Stefan that just felt safe."
"Safe? Elena, he's a vampire." Matt told her.
"Shh, this is getting emotional." Rosa commented which earned an eye roll from the others.
"I know, believe me, just saying it out loud it sounds crazy, but it's like I knew that he would never stop loving me. Like he would never..."
"What?" Matt asked.
"Die. Like he would never die."
"Like your parents did. And Damon?" Rosa was actually happy Matt was here for once. He was asking all the questions that Elena wouldn't let Rosa ask.
"Damon just sort of snuck up on me. He got under my skin and no matter what I do I just...I can't shake him." Rosa sighed. She didn't like what her sister was doing.
"Once you fall in love with someone, I don't know if...I don't know if you can ever shake them." Matt told her. Rosa knew he was talking about Elena. It made her feel sad for Caroline because maybe Matt never really loved her. Just another reason not to like him.
"I'm sorry. This...this is weird. Talking about them with you."
"You're right, it's totally weird." Rosa commented, but was ignored.
"No. Not really. I got you something." Matt reached into his pocket and pulled out a small book.
"The journal?" She asked as she looked down at the book in her hands. Rosa didn't even want to ask. She was so out of the loop at this point.

"It's your family's, you should have it. Meredith and that idiot deputy were too busy questioning you to give a damn about me. Sometimes it pays to be the only normal one in a town of vampires. I'm practically invisible." Matt told her. Rosa saw how he looked at her and it made her gag. It also made her a little sad for Matt knowing that he might be in love with someone who doesn't love him back for the rest of his life.
Suddenly Alaric entered the house and Elena walked over to him, wrapping him in a hug. "Are you ok?" She asked.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm alright." He said.
"Hey, killer." Rosa said with a smirk on her face.
"Rosa!"
"What?" She sighed. "Sorry...hey, Alaric."
—
The next day Rosa, Elena and Meredith were in the control room waiting for Alaric to get his MRI scan.
"So, are you sure we can trust her?" Rosa asked as she glared at Meredith. She smirked slightly when she saw the uncomfortableness of Meredith.
"Yes we can trust her. Just be quiet, ok?"
"Fine."
"What are you looking for?" Elena asked Meredith.
"I don't know. A tumor, vascular anomalies, anything physical that might explain his behavior. If it's medical, I can treat it." She told him.
"Wow. That was a whole lot of words I didn't understand." Elena stared at her sister for a minute before going back to the conversation.
"And if it's not?"
"Well, then we'll deal with that too." Meredith answered.
"Alright I'm bored. I have to go meet Caroline and Bonnie, see you later." Rosa said before leaving.
"Bye." Elena said softly. She was still sad about what happened. She felt awful about the whole Abby turning into a vampire.
Rosa and Caroline decided to meet up at Caroline's house and drive over to Abby's. Rosa really hoped Bonnie would be ok with her coming. Caroline insisted and said Bonnie was fine with it.
"Hey." Caroline and Rosa said as they walked over to Bonnie.
"Hey."
"I totally lucked out. The hospital just had a blood drive, so I got some O negatives, some A's, and my personal favorite, B positive." Caroline said as she pulled out a blood bag from the giant cooler she was holding. Rosa wrinkled her nose at the thought.
The three girls walked over to the garden and saw Abby standing next to the empty birdbath.
"I made her a daylight ring. She's been standing out there all morning. I don't think she's taking this very well." Bonnie told them. Rosa felt awful. Technically it wasn't her fault, it wasn't even Elena's, but it was close enough. It was to save Elena.
"Well, it's only been a few days since she turned. Your mom is still adjusting." Caroline said. They all walked over to Abby. Rosa was standing behind Caroline and Bonnie just in case Abby freaked out about seeing her. "Ms. Wilson, why don't you come inside? Have something to drink?"
"I can't feel it anymore. My garden, it's gone. I can't feel anything." Abby told them as she walked toward the house.
"I don't understand." Caroline whispered to Bonnie.
"Witches have a connection to the earth. We can literally feel nature. Life." Bonnie cupped her hands around a dead plant and mumbled a spell and watched as the plant slowly came back to life and began to bloom into a bright flower. Rosa was amazed. "When Abby became a vampire, she lost it. I don't know how to help her."
After a while Bonnie and Abby went to the house and Caroline and Rosa were walking down to where they found Jamie. Caroline explained that he became some sort of son or something to Abby. They found him in the back chopping wood.
"Haven't seen you up at the house. Abby's been asking for you." Caroline told him.
"I've been pretty busy." He responded. Caroline nodded and bent down to pick up a piece of wood. "Hey, hey!" He shouted which scared both Caroline and Rosa. "Stay away from me!"
"She didn't do anything." Rosa told him.
"Easy! I was just gonna help you carry the fire wood up. You're scared of her." Caroline said.
"She's a vampire."
"She needs to feel connected to people she loves. She needs to feel normal right now."
"She's not normal. None of this is normal!" He shouted. Rosa sighed. She felt the same way. This wasn't normal and it never would be.
"Well, Abby didn't chose this, this was forced on her. She could have let herself die, but she didn't. She's trying to make this work so she can be there for you and for Bonnie. So..." Suddenly Caroline's phone started to ring. "So, just get over yourself, ok?" She said before leaving to answer her phone.
"Hey, this is all new for me too. I only found out about vampires a few months ago and it's crazy, but my best friend is a vampire and my sisters in love with...two of them. I've been in this whole mess and you're right, it's totally not normal." Rosa told him.
"How are you dealing with it?"
"Well, it's hard, but I've made friends who have helped me and my sister. Even if Abby is a vampire, she's still like family to you. That doesn't change. She's still the person that you knew, now she just lives forever." Rosa said. Jamie nodded. "It's hard, and it never gets any less crazy, but in some weird way you get used to it. Maybe you'll even like the crazy."
"Thanks..."
"Rosa." Jamie smiled at her and walked up to the house.
