《The End》Part 13: The Mikaelson Ball

Rosa stared at the dress, her mouth hanging open. She stood there for about 40 minutes before placing the lid back on the box and shoving it into her closet.
She made up her mind. She wasn't going, especially if Damon was right about Klaus liking her. Rosa did not want that. Out of every person who could have liked her, why did it have to be Klaus? The psychopathic murderer. The same man who murdered her aunt, who killed Tyler and turned him, who killed kids in her school, who turned Stefan into a monster, the same person who chased her and her sister around the school.
✰
This morning Rosalina told herself she was not going to be attending the Mikaelson ball. And she planned to stand by her choice. She sat on the couch watching TV when Elena walked out to the car alongside Stefan and Damon. She was wearing a gorgeous black and gold ball gown. Rosa had no idea how Elena was able to find that beautiful of a dress in Mystic Falls on such short notice, but she did loo amazing.
"It's not to late to change your mind." Elena said before walking out.
"Yes it is. Have fun...you look beautiful Elena." Rosa hated admitting it, but she was jealous. Elena looked amazing in her probably expensive dress, two dates clung to her arms, her friends waiting for her at the ball. And there was Rosa, sitting by herself on the couch, she was wearing a t-shirt and sweats and her hair was in a knotted ponytail. Why did Elena get to live the dream life while Rosa sat on the couch.
That's when Rosa made a decision that she knew was stupid and would definitely regret in the morning. She ran up the stairs and pulled the box out of her closet and put it on. She brushed out her hair and attempted at applying a little makeup. Caroline had been helping her learn how to do it properly.
Rosalina stared at herself in the mirror. The dress was light yellow with layers of lace covering it. Different colored flowers were sewed over the top half of the dress. She had never worn anything so extravagant before. And definitely not this expensive.
Rosa had to hold onto the railing as she walked down the steps. She had to make sure not to step on the bottom of the skirt of her dress. She stole a pair of heals from Elena's closet which she also had to get used to. Rosa was about to leave, her hand on the door handle and she froze. What was she thinking? Rosalina had hated dances, fancy events, public scenes, basically this whole hall was a representation of everything she hates. She kicked off the heels and ran back into her room and fell onto her bed.

Rosa was laying on her back, her head facing the ceiling. She slightly turned her view when her eyes landed on the sage colored jewelry box. The painted was chipped and the lock had been broken by Jeremy years ago.
Rosa walked over to the box and carefully opened. A sad smile formed on her face. She looked at the gold necklace laying in the box. It was Jenna's. Jenna had given it to Rosa when she was about 13 after Rosa failed a test and her parents yelled at her.
Rosa never took it out of the box. Elena didn't even know that Jenna had given it to Rosa. No one did. Rosa looked at the necklace and smiled softly. She knew Jenna would have forced her to go. To go have fun and be social. Rosa took the necklace out of the box and carefully placed it around her neck, clipping it in the back. She looked in the mirror, nodded slightly and walked back down the stairs.
✰
Rosa looked around the crowded parking lot as she walked to the front door. The mansion was huge, but what else should she expect. Rosa hesitated as she made her way up to the house. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
Rosa walked through the doors and into the large room where it seemed like the whole town was. Rosa tried to find her friends, but was unsuccessful.
"Good evening, Rosalina." Rosa turned to her right to see Klaus standing next to her with a smile on his face.
"Hi." She mumbled quietly. "Thank for the dress...now I need to go." Rosa said before walking away from Klaus and tried to find her sister or Caroline.
Rosa continued to walk around for a while when she finally found Caroline. Her hair was curled and pinned up and her dress was a long, dark purple hall gown. Rosalina thought her friend looked gorgeous.
"Hey." She said as she walked up to the blonde.
"Oh, hi Rosa." Caroline said. When she turned around her mouth opened wide. "Oh my god, you look amazing." She said with a bright smile.
"Thanks, you look amazing too." Rosa said before pulling Caroline into a tight hug. Caroline was confused at first, but hugged her friend back. "I'm so, so, so sorry." She whispered into Caroline's ear.
"It's not your fault. It's mine."
"No it's not. Caroline, nothing is your fault. If you want someone to blame, blame the Salvatore's for bringing vampires to Mystic Falls." Rosa told her. Caroline nodded slightly.
"I'm glad you're here."
"Thanks."
"You do realize that Klaus has not stopped staring at you since you walked through the door." Caroline said. Both girls turned to look at Klaus and he quickly turned away and began talking to one of the guests. "Oh my god, you're blushing!"

"Shut up! I'm not blushing." Rosa assured her friend. "More like dying in my mind. Over and over and over again." Caroline gave Rosa a concerned look.
"That got dark fast." Rosa shrugged. "Ooh, he's coming over. I'll see you later."
"No, no, Caroline don't go." But Caroline had already walked away as Klaus walked toward Rosalina.
"May I have this dance?" He asked, holding his hand out politely.
"No." Rosa said and tried to turn around, but Klaus grabbed her hand and turned her back towards him. Rosa glared at Klaus, but followed as he led her towards the dance floor.
"Thank you for dancing with me."
"Well it's not like I really had a choice." Rosa muttered under her breath forgetting that Klaus had enhanced hearing. He smirked at her, but she kept a frown on her face.
"You look beautiful. That dress...and your hair." He said softly as he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Rosa looked down at the floor, her dress covered her feet.
"Why did you invite me?" Rosa asked him.
"Everyone was invited." Klaus stated. Rosa looked up to see Klaus smirking at her.
"Damon said you specifically wanted me to come." She told him.
"Well, I am very fond of you Rosalina." He told her. Rosa laughed, but stopped when she saw a frown on Klaus's face. "Have I said something funny?"
"Why?" She asked. Klaus raised his eyebrow at her question. "Sorry, but nobody likes me. Why not like Elena or something?"
"Why have Elena, when I could have you."
"Sorry to break it to you, but you can't have me." Rosa said. Their were a few moments of awkwardness and silence before Klaus started to talk again.
"That necklace you're wearing is beautiful." Klaus said admiring the gold around her neck. Rosa touched her necklace gently and frowned.
"Different topic." She stated. Klaus nodded, eyeing the necklace carefully.
"Alright then, I'm surprised at how good of a dancer you are considering, you hate dances." Klaus said.
"How do you know that?"
"It's pretty obvious."
"Well, last year I had to learn so I could compete in Miss Mystic Falls." She said quietly. Klaus once again raised his eyebrow confused. Rosa didn't blame him. "Well my mom had had me and Elena sign up before she uhm...died. I tried to back out, but apparently that wasn't allowed so I had to do it. It's not like I won anyways so, all that for nothing." Rosa said, adding in a laugh nervously.
"You should have won."
"No, definitely not. Caroline won and she definitely deserved it." Rosa assured him.
✰
Rosa hadn't even realized how long she had been dancing with Klaus until her feet started to hurt. "I need some air." She told him before going outside. She sat on the steps and took off her shoes. As she sat in the cold air she thought about her and Klaus's conversation.
He had acted like a normal person. No vampire or monster things. Just them dancing and talking. She then thought about how he admired her necklace. The necklace Jenna had given her. Klaus had killed Jenna and here she was talking with him and blushing and dancing. It was horrible. Rosa quickly put her shoes back on and stood up.
How could she dance with Klaus after what he had done. She felt like a terrible person. Not felt, was. She was a terrible, awful human being. Jenna was her Aunt. Her favorite person in the world and she was dancing with her murderer.
Rosa began to walk towards the parking lot when a voice stopped her. "Leaving so soon." She stood still, her back facing him. She could feel him step closer to him.
"I never should have come." She mumbled softly, still feeling frozen. Klaus made his way in front of Rosa so they would face each other. He saw her glossy eyes and the cold air that realized through her lips.
"It's cold out here for a human, you should come in." He said. Rosa shook her head, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Come on, love."
"Don't call me that." She said. Rosa was about to walk away when Klaus grabbed her hand. More tears fell down Rosa's face. "I'm a terrible person." She cried.
"Now why would you say that?"
"Because I'm here with you." She told him softly. "Why did you invite me here?" She asked him again. Klaus didn't answer. Louder now she said, "Why did you invite me here?"
"Because...I fancy you." Suddenly there was the sound of a loud clap. Rosa hadn't even realized what happened until she pulled her hand away from Klaus's face. Her eyes went wide and her hand covered her open mouth. Even Klaus looked shock. They stared at each other for a moment before Rosa walked past him and began to run until she reached her car.
She was silent as she drove home. As she struggled to open her door. As she kicked off her shoes and ran up the stairs. She ran into her room and slammed the door. She fell onto her bed, her head facing her pillow as she sobbed into it.
Klaus Mikaelson "fancied" her. She slapped Klaus Mikealson. He could kill her. He probably would soon and all she could do was cry. She was right, she definitely regretted her decision to go.

This is my Mother Sharon Bouriaque's work. She passed away in 2003. I loved reading my mother's work and she got me into writing. So I'm putting this out there with full credit to her. I have made some modification to technology since there has been a lot of changes to technology from when she wrote this until now. But other than that and a few very basic edits the work is hers. Jeff Carlisle despises the alien race that has colonized his world and inter-married with some of Earth’s people. Earth’s governments are working to get rid of the Thrans when they learn that something much worse is headed Earth’s way---an invasion fleet of RiaZan. The savage spiderlike race who harvests human types for food. The government leaders are terrified. Earth has no workable defense against ANY invaders from space. However, the Thrans do. They respond to the threat of invasion with an astounding move. 8 178[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
