(See end of the chapter for notes)
You stared at the ground as you ran on the snowy cement, only lamplights to illuminate your way. The wind howled in your face and almost froze the tears that slowly fell. Your boyfri-- no ex-boyfriend just had to do it.
He tried to sell it off as he was "drunk" and "didn't know what he was doing". Bullshit! "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" You whispered to yourself over and over again.
Never again will you ever be that close to someone. Or, so you thought. Through your haze you realized you had stopped at the edge of the park woods. The forest was dense and utterly dark. Perfect.
The park woods were your safe haven. They offered you comfort when you felt down, on times like these you often found yourself in them.
Hastily making your way through them your found your normal clearing. Even in the pitch black of night it was still beautiful. The moon was full shining down over the frozen pond.
Heh. Full moon. The ridiculous stories of wolf men leak back into your brain and cause you to giggle slightly. Ever since monsters had left the underground all sorts of supernatural rumors had been proved wrong and put to rest. A distant memory in the past.
Walking towards to get a better look of the lake you notice something....off... About it. In the middle of the lake was a small flame.
"That's definitely not normal"
You hurriedly run to the edge of the lake and test of sturdy it was. The lake was frozen completely solid but you still tried to be careful.
Inching closer you realized that this small flame was wearing a small outfit, and classes. It was shivering badly. It's flames were small and dim which you guessed it not to be a good thing.

You ran your hand around the surface of it to make sure it wouldn't burn you. It was actually pretty cool. Probably a very bad thing. You yourself did have anything to bundle him up in so you decided to put him in the palms of your hands and run home. It wasn't far from here.
Scooting to the edge of the lake you took off running for the end of the woods and down the block to your apartment.
Halfway there you felt it shift in your hands and you stopped to look down at 'em.
Opening the shell off little warmth you had created around him with your hands your peered down at him. He looked scared at first, his small flames flickering back and forth nervously.
"Shhhh its okay it's okay I'm here to help you" you tried to speak in a calm warm tone.
He still looked unsettled but was taken over by violent shivering and you stared down at him in concern before taking off again.
Only a few more minutes to your apartment and then you would try to do the best you could for 'em!
