《The Alpha's Human Mate》Chapter 33 Dungeons and Details

Xavier agreed to let me go down to the dungeon and talk to Andrew. But on the condition that he was with me in case, Andrew tried to pull something.
Which earned an eye-roll from me, but I agreed nonetheless less.
"Stay by my side," Xavier said for the hundredth time as he lead the way.
"Yes, dad," I teased.
"If you want to be sassy we don't have to go," he grumbled but kept on walking nonetheless.
"Xavier," I laughed. "You've told me to say by your side and not run off like a million times already. It's going to be ok," I reassuringly squeeze his hand.
Xavier had an ironclad grip on my hand. He really wasn't joking when he said that he wasn't going to leave my side.
"I'm just worried," he confessed. "I don't want anything to happen to you."
"And nothing will," I reached up on my tip-toes to press a quick kiss to his pink lips. "You're stuck with me, Xavier."
I could feel the invisible weight lift up off of his shoulders when I kissed him. "Let's get this over with so we can go back and do nothing."
"Alpha," two men guarding the big iron door nodded to Xavier. "How are you today?"
"Good, thank you, Frank and Travis," Xavier's whole déminer changed from the living playful alpha I knew to the hard, merciless one that so many were scared of.
Frank stepped to the side while Travis pulled the large door open and gestured for Xavier and me to make our way in.
"Thanks," I half-whispered out, the fear getting to me.
Both Frank and Travis bowed their heads slightly at me. "Luna," they said in sync.
"I'll never get used to that," I told Xavier once the door closed behind us and we started walking down the stairs.

"It still weirds me out sometimes too," Xavier confessed. "When everyone first started calling me 'alpha' I always felt like my dad was standing behind me And that's who they were talking to."
"Ok that makes me feel a little better," I smiled.
"We're in this together, Addie," Xavier said reassuringly.
We walked down a twisting, turning stone staircase, that lead us to another metal caged door that was also guarded. The two men standing in front of it gave Xavier and me stiff nods but didn't say a word. The one on the right finished a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door for us.
I smiled politely at both men in thanks.
"This way," Xavier muttered tugging me to the left and down a lowly lit hallway.
The walls were nothing special, both were just simple stone with no pictures or writing on them. Yellow-tinted lights were hanging from the ceilings that lightly rocked back and forth as we walked under them.
"I already requested for Andrew to be brought to the interrogation room for us," Xavier told me. "He'll be handcuffed for your safety but he won't be in pain."
We stopped in front of a metal door that had a small viewing window. Through it, I could see Andrew sitting at the plastic table, his hands were handcuffed to the table just like Xavier said, and someone was standing in the far corner of the room with him.
"I love you," Xavier told me one last time before he opened the door and we both walked in.
"Andrew," I said. "How are you?"
Ok, so that probably wasn't the best thing to say right now. But, honestly, I didn't know what else to say.
Andrew chuckled lightly at me before replying. "I've had better days, but at least I don't have any homework."

I sat down in one of the two seats across from him, Xavier taking the other, his hand instantly moving to hold my knee.
Andrew looked awful, to put it nicely. He had a black eye and split lip that looked to be already healing despite the dried blood on his bottom lip. His hand was a mess, sticking up in every which way. He was wearing a pair of grey joggers and a grey crewneck to match. He looked like a prisoner.
"I'm sorry," I told him honestly. "I'm sorry that you got hurt and roped into all of this. You didn't deserve this. Any of it."
"I made my bed and now I have to sleep in it," he shrugged. "I heard that you were out for a few days, are you ok now, Addison?" Andrew asked me.
Xavier growled lowly in his throat at Andrew saying my name but kept his lips sealed.
"I'm ok now," I smiled. "I'm just a little sore, nothing major."
"I'm glad," Andrew said.
"I made a promise to you," I said locking eyes with Andrew. "That I would help you and make sure that you didn't get hurt, and I'm failing. But that ends now. I know that you talked with Grayson and you told him the truth."
"Even if everything you've told my beta and mate is true," Xavier spoke up, " I still don't trust you."
"Xavier-"
"-He's right," Andrew cut me off. "I wouldn't trust me either."
"But you were being lied to, and Mr. Davis was using you!" I exclaimed.
"I hurt a lot of people, Addison," Andrew said sadly. "I thought that Xavier killed my dad and Mr. Davis' mate out of pure malice. I didn't know the truth."
"Yeah, cause Mr. Davis was a jerk! He knew you were hurting and that he could use you to get to me and hurt Xavier."
"What if I make you a deal?" Xavier questioned. "I let you go and you vow to never come back here again. You promise to stay away from my pack, my family, my mate and Addison's mother. You pack your bags and leave."
"You can't just kick him out," I told Xavier flabbergasted. "This is his home as much as it is yours. His dad is here, and his family. His mother's grave."
"Ben will you please wait out in the hallway with the luna while Andrew and I discuss some terms," Xavier said completely ignoring me.
"Xavier-"
"I'll be ok, Addison," Andrew reassured me. "Like I said, I have to sleep in the bed I made."
"Luna," Ben said pulling my chair back and opening the door for me.
"So. . ." I trailed off. I felt like Xavier and Andrew were going to be talking for a while.
"Yes, luna?"
"Ew," I wrinkled my nose. "Call me Addison or Addie."
"Ok, Addison," Bed laughed. "What did you want to ask me?"
"You like jazz?"

Overseer
From the nothingness I appeared. Bodiless, voiceless, ageless, I have only thoughts and emotions to guide me. My one connection to the world lies in the hearts of a small colony of lizards, just on the cusp of maturing. I reach out to them without hands, inspiring them to be more than what they are, shaping their bodies from visions of lost memories. But where do the memories come from? I am always left with more questions than answers. In my lonely shapeless existence the lizards cannot hear my words, and they cannot feel my touch, and I must wonder, do I even really exist? --- Called emotional, abstract, and beautiful by readers, this story is an observational account of a disembodied entity that has the power to influence and change a race of mildly intelligent lizard creatures. Memories of a previous life often serve as inspiration, but also generate questions as to whom the entity might have been before it became an Overseer. (presented in short chapters) (Thank you readers for getting my story into the top 5 ;u; ~

Dream of the Abyss
Elisa Mary Grant died in a hospital bed after being stuck in it for six months, and like any other, her soul drifted away from her husk when she passed. For her, death was a release. It merely meant that she no longer have to wake up in pain, breathing through tubes and have doctors flood her veins with dubious chemicals for “experimental treatment”. Free from her mortal constraints and useless body, she felt… at peace, serene, even. Death is bliss, after all, when objectively living sucked to the point of extreme. Therefore, there was no reason to mourn at all and she knew she definitely didn't. ... That was until, on her way for a proper reincarnation, she found herself rudely interrupted and left stranded in the great NoWhere. “Wonderful,” she remarked as she floated in the [Beyond], “Just when I thought that suicide is the answer.” Author's note: Updates every Tuesday-Wednesday, probably some time in between. ... P.S Notes: Contains existential questions and nihilistic themes, rather philosophical. Will be rather sluggish until the MC gets her shit together. P.SS Notes: Story takes time to develop. And maybe uncomfortable. It's not gonna be action-packed or filled with battles, I think. Anyway, it is kinda unusual. P. SSS Notes: It is not LitRpg. Don't be fooled.
