《The Alpha's Human Mate》Chapter 1 Maybe It Won't Be So Bad

"Are you excited?" My mom asked me as we unpacked all the moving boxes.
"Yeah," I lied easily. "I really am." But honestly, Midnight Creek was the last place I wanted to be. I wanted to be back home in Arizona, with the sun, not stuck here in this small town. But I had to remind myself that I was doing this for my mom. She needed this change, and this promotion was a huge deal. So I just had to grit my teeth and bear it for now.
"I know it's not the same as back home, " my mom sighed. "But this house is a lot bigger and better than before, plus everything is within walking distance here. No more rush hour traffic." She joked trying to lighten the mood.
She was right. This house was huge, it had way more room than either my mom and I needed. I was excited her she told me I could pick any room I wanted. it was a four-bedroom house after all and there were just the two of us. I choose one of the biggest bedrooms, it was also the same size as the master room my mom choose. It had a walk-in closet and was right next to the upstairs bathroom, which was basically all mine considering my mom's room had a walk-in bathroom. The walls of my new bedroom were painted a light blue by the previous owners, and my favourite part of the small balcony it had that faced the forest. It was the best bedroom in the house.
"I know mom," I said softly unpacking the pates and cups. "Midnight Creek will be good for us, I saw a small pizza place just up the block that looks pretty good and I was thinking we could order from there tonight."

"That sounds like a great idea, Addie. I'll go place an order and grab a few things for tomorrow while you keep unpacking," my mom kissed my forehead while grabbing her purse and walking out the front door.
I simply nodded my head and smiled.
I started to bring some of my boxes to my room and unpack them for school tomorrow. I wasn't looking forward to a new school, especially in a small town like this where everyone already knew each other. I was going to be the new girl, and I was worried that no one would talk be and I would just be a loser loner. I know my mom kept saying that I had nothing to worry about, but I was still nervous. I wasn't exactly popular back home, but I wasn't at the bottom of the food chain either. I was somewhere in the middle, and I was happy with that. I got decent grades and had friends who I loved like family. Saying goodbye to them was hard, I spent half of teh day crying, and the other half laughing at all the stupid memories we had together.
"Addie, pizza!" My mom called out. I was so lost in my head that I didn't even notice her open the front door.
"Coming!" I called.
I dashed downstairs to go eat and spent the rest of the night unpacking as much as I could before my mom ushered me off to bed, saying that I needed a goodnight's sleep before my first day at school tomorrow. I didn't bother to argue and tell her that I wouldn't get much sleep tonight anyway. I would be up half the night tossing and turning, thinking about how my first day would go tomorrow. I knew that she wouldn't listen, my mom was stubborn and so was I. Before my dad died, he used to joke that there was no use winning in an argument against me and my mom.

"Goodnight, Addie, I love you." My mom called after me as I went back upstairs.
"I love you too," I shouted back closing my bedroom door.
I sat outside on my balcony for a few minutes just taking everything in when I heard a howl in the distance.
Hmm, I didn't know that Midnight Creek had wovles.

Hellfire Across the Heavens
Three centuries of FTL space travel has spread the people of Terra far across the stars and for nearly half a millennia people have asked the question, "are we alone in the universe?" The answer to that question is a resounding no. To one side, humanity is boxed in by an ancient empire whose light has burned up long ago. To the other, is a federation of alien races known as the Senate. Mankind rejoiced the knowledge that they were not the only life in a cold dark galaxy. But as first contact was made, ET's who transited into the Warp seemed to disappear without a trace, technologies traded with the other races malfunctioned or refused to work entirely, and simple translation errors led to grave misunderstandings. Before long, humanity was outcasted by the Senate and relationships soured, but even still the sons and daughters of Terra worked hard to earn the respect and trust of the Xeno's.

MCU Oneshots and Novellas
My back catalogue of shorter MCU fanfiction. Most are focused on Loki, Thor and Odin, but the other Avengers also show up on occasion. 1. Shadows of the Past Yet Loom:Thor thought he had grown out of his childhood stutter long ago, but to his distress, the speech impediment resurfaces shortly after he's crowned as king of Asgard. Loki tries to cheer Thor up. [set between Ragnarok and Infinity War] 2. Another Sleepless Night Thor has brought Loki back to Asgard and Odin has pronounced his sentence – Loki is to spend the rest of his days in the dungeons. That was supposed to be the end of the matter, yet sleep continues to elude Odin. One night, he makes a covert trip down to Loki’s cell. 3. Truths, Lies and Bilgesnipes There are children you can leave unsupervised for an afternoon without courting danger. To Odin's consternation, the two young princes of Asgard are not that kind of children. With Frigga absent and Odin distracted with the minutia of government, Thor and Loki sneak out of the palace on a bilgesnipe hunt. Their short adventure leaves Loki badly injured. But the physical injury is not as potent a force as the secrets Odin is determined to protect or Loki’s desperate need to live up to his father’s expectations. 4. Dear Mr. Thanos The trouble with the universe is that it doesn't want to be balanced. In fact, it requires regular pruning. In the year 2327 the Infinity War is a distant memory and Ariadne Thornton has some questions for the dark spectre that has haunted the universe for the past three hundred years. [post Infinity War, not Endgame compliant] 5. Not A Place But A People For a time, dreams of peace and safety can sustain a people lost in the wilderness. But soon the reality of the situation sinks in – a ship not provisioned for the number of people on board, a culture on the verge of extinction and a shadow spreading further with every passing day. [post Thor: Ragnarok, not Infinity War compliant]
