ZANE'S P.O.V.
I open my eyes again. I feel as if I have been run over by something many times over. I look at my hands, which are bound by chains to the wall behind me. What happened? Wait, I remember waking here before. Three dark creatures tortured me. I am bleeding. But, I am a robot. I cannot bleed. That's right. I am not a full robot, but a human made into one. I shake my head, but soon regret it. I wince as the pain shoots down my back and into my limbs. I start breathing hard, willing the pain to go away. I hear footsteps. They are not regular footsteps. I close my eyes, hoping that they leave me alone if they think I am not awake. I hear them talking.
"Let's go have some more fun with him before he dies, please?"
"I agree. He should die by the dark energies slowly sucking away his life soon."
"No, he's still asleep. It won't be any fun to torture him if we can't hear him scream in pain."
"Aww, man. I was really looking forward to seeing him bleed some more."
"Come on. The Dark Master is waiting."
They walk away. I open my eyes and realize that I have been holding my breath throughout their entire conversation. I let it out, gasping for more breath, but each time I breath I feel like a thousand knives are tearing at me from inside. The air is toxic, at least that is what my scanners say. They said something about dark energies, and that they are ppoisoness to- Oh, I can't think. My head is spinning and I feel like I will pass out. They are right. I will be dead soon.
"Zane."
I agonizingly lift my head up a little to see who is calling my name. Everything is blurry, but I see a light. It comes closer to me.
"Zane, I wish I could rescue you, but it is too dangerous. Your friends will save you. They are on their way."
I try to speak. My voice is low and hollow. "But, it will be...too late." I say, wincing a little as some blood comes up through my throat, I spit it out onto the ground.
"No, Zane. I will give you more time."
The light comes even closer. I can see who it is almost clearly now.
"Liz?" I say, my heart suddenly filling with joy. "Is it...really you?" I regret trying to speak, and she can see it in my eyes and hear it in my voice.

"Don't speak. I am not really here. Like I said, it is too dangerous for me. I might lose control. I have sent only a small part of my spirit to give to you. I am giving you a part of my life until you are saved."
"No, don't. You...need your own...life." I struggle to say. "Do not waste it...on me."
"I am not wasting it."
The light fades, but I feel stronger. My wounds start to slowly heal a little and I can breath a bit easier. I feel her presence around me, inside of me. I take a few breathes, rejoicing in the feeling of having good air in my lungs again.
"Thank you." I whisper.
There is only one word that is said in response. "Live." It fades away. I am alone again, but at least I know that I have Liz with me in spirit. She is giving her life to save mine. I will one day return the favor.
LLOYD'S P.O.V.
"Alright, I guess we kind of know where we need to go, but does anyone know how to get there?" I ask. All we know is that he's trapped in someplace dark. Really dark.
"We could try asking Liz." Jay says.
"Jay, we've done that." Kai says.
"Why are we not just figuring out if Zane is alright?" Cole says.
I am so tired of this. "We can't ask Liz for help, we don't know if Zane is okay until we get where we don't know how to get to, and is it just me, or does it seem like Zane is what holds us all together?" I say.
They all look down, then nod in agreement. This is exactly what happened when Master Chen took Zane away from us. We split up. We went out seperate ways. All of us just...lost each other. Without Zane, this team is broken. He's the odd one that keeps us together. He's the one who helps us realize our mistakes and helps us fix them. He's the one that's special to all of us. Just like last time, we're starting to spread apart. We need to find and save him. To save us. To save the team.
"Lloyd's right." Kai says. "We need to stick together this thime. We can't afford to be driven apart again."
"Thanks Kai." I say. He nods in response.
"So, how do we get there?" Cole asks.

The creatures are returning, I can sense them. They are dark beings that should have never been created. I think of my brothers. I wonder if they have found out about the imposter yet. They probably have, but what are they doing now? Are they safe? If these dark creatures are after me, then they might be after my family as well.
My body is sore. More than sore, it burns with wounds both fresh and old, given to me by those creatures. Every time I move I wince in excrutiating pain. I have tried to escape, to break the chains, but I fail every time. I cannot even stand.
"There he is."
"It is time."
"It must be done."
The creatures surround me. I try to get away from them, but my back is against the wall. They come forward on two legs again. Dark weapons slowly appear in their hands. A sword, a whip, a dagger. They come at me, raising their weapons. I try to think of something to slow them down, to stall them.
"You can't hurt me!" I say. "My bothers will find me. They will rescue me! And if I die, you will die soon after. She will make sure of it!"
The creatures stop and look at each other.
"You mean..."
"The Light Master?"
"But she is..."
"The one who told us..."
"To kill you."
What? Liz sent them here to kill me? I do not believe it. They are messing with my mind. They are telling me lies to make me weak. They will not fool me.
"You're lying." I say. They must be lying.
They smile.
"Quite the contrary, white ninja. You have fooled yourself."
"She is the one who sent us on our mission."
"We will kill you later. It is fun to see you in distress, so we will keep you alive for amusement. For now..."
The creatures leave. They have to be lying. She would not do that to me, to any of us. But...what if they are telling the truth? What if this 'Dark Master' they are talking about is really Liz? What if she lost control?
"Zane."
I look up at the sound of my name, I see a white light again, but this time I can see her more clearly.
"Zane, they are lying. As I have said before, I cannot save you, it is too dangerous, but I can keep you alive until your brothers come for you. You are safe, Zane."
"But, what if you are not really here? What if you are only in my imagination? What if you really did tell them to kill me?"
She looks down at the ground and closes her eyes. "If that is what you want to believe," she lifts up her head and opens her eyes, staring at me, "then believe in a lie. You are safe, Zane, and you always will be. I am always here for you. I will always love you."
The light dissipates, but I feel her presence in me again. I feel stronger. I feel safe. My brothers are on their way to rescue me, and Liz is right here beside me. Even if she is not with me in body, she is with me in spirit.
KAI'S P.O.V.
We still have no clue how to find Zane. We've been walking for hours, but we have no clue where we're going.
"I'm tired!" Jay says. He's been saying that for the last hour.
"We all are, Jay, but you don't see me complaining, do you?" Cole says. They still hate each other.
"At least I'm not a girlfriend-stealing jerk who-"
"Guys, get a hold of yourselves." I say, breaking up what could be a potential fight between Cole and Jay. "We don't have time for this."
"We need help. Is it worth it calling for Liz again?" Lloyd says. Maybe it is worth it.
Then we here her voice. It's like it's in the wind, in the air around us.
"Look inside yourselves." She says. "Find where you are inside. Then you will know where to go." Then her voice dissapears. That girl has some problems, with all the hiding and secrecy. I mean, can't she show us, her friends, that she's here? Nope, guess not.
"Wait, what does that mean?" Lloyd asks, but it's too late.
"Find where you are inside." I repeat. "Maybe she means we need to meditate? I mean, what if doing that, finding ourselves, would somehow transport us to where we need to go?"
"Couldn't hurt to try." Cole says.
"Not unless you try to steal someone's GIRLFRIEND!" Jay says. He's so annoying.
We sit on the grass beneath us and start meditating. We have no idea what we're looking for, but who knows, maybe we'll find something to get us to wherever Zane is. We close our eyes and wait. For what, we don't know. For who, we know. We're coming Zane. I promise. We will save you from the dark.

Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.

Dragons of Dark Rebellion in A World of Essence
In a world where cultivation is the highest form of virtue, the purity of one’s blood is of absolute value. Saul is neither Arloni, nor Delcairan. He’s both. But when a strange ring suddenly falls into his hands, nineteen year old Saul is more than willing to push the boundary between fantasy and reality. However, things are not as they once were in Falden. At a time where Saul finally confronts lord Albryte’s sons after years of torment and abuse, his father’s health is fading fast. Suddenly faced with the consequences of his actions, Saul is forced to make a difficult decision. And as he fights his own battle, dark forces descend upon Lucidia. Followed by a pair of glowing red eyes, a stranger appears in the night, visiting Falden with unfavorable intentions. Even worse, nameless assassins strike at the heart of the capital, leaving Eliza Zaryph, the black sheep of the ruling house of Lucidia, shouldering the burden of governing a kingdom that once turned its back on her. As the world marches toward chaos, their lives take a drastic turn. Will Saul abandon those he holds most dear? Will Eliza drown herself in the past? Or will they struggle against fate and seize the future with their own hands? Tomorrow remains uncertain. But the Sun will show them the way. Author's Note: Inspired by the Wuxia/Xianxia genre the magic system is comprised of cultivating through different Worlds of power, where each World offers more strength and abilities. Currently there are five Worlds known: Essence Practitioner, Essence Channeler, Essence Warrior, Essence Conquerer, and finally Essence Ruler. (And for the best reading experience I recomend altering your width setting to about 70 or 80 percent on desktop.) Table of Contents: Prologue Part 1: Homecoming (chapters 1-12) Part 2: Journey (chapters 13-25) About 70 percent complete. I'll update this figure over time and begin posting again after I finish it and go through several rounds of editing.
