nine days till christmas break yayyyyy!

I sit at my desk, studying for my math exam. I scratch my chin and sigh. "When did we even learn this...?" I mumble and smack my forehead lightly on my mahogany desk.
"This is terrible." I say. Suddenly I hear a few taps on my window. My eyes shift over to the clock to see what time it was.
12:27 am? Who'd visit someone at this time? I get up and cautiously make my way over to the window. Who knows, it could be a psychopath murderer...
I move my curtains out of the way and see C/n, my best friend crying outside my window. My face turns into a sympathetic worried expression as I unlock my window, punch the screen out, and let C/n in.
"C/n, are you alright? That's a stupid question. Oh, I'm so stupid. What I mean to say is: what's wrong?" I ask him as he sits on my bed.
"I-I broke up with her." He stutters. I embrace him into a hug. "What? Why? I've never seen you so happy with anyone else!" I state. "She loves someone else." He says, shifting his glassy eyes to the floor.
"Oh my gosh. Who could be better than you? From what I've seen you treated her like a princess. Every book she's told you to read you read it. Whenever you'd go watch movies with her and her mom you wouldn't complain. When she asked you to go to her grandparents house you went! Who does she think she-" He stops my by pressing his index finger to my lips.
Tears slowly drip from his colourless face. "I'm sorry." I quietly tell him. "I know you are. I knew she loved him since he moved to town." He says.

"Maybe I got annoying. Maybe I left her too many messages on her answering machine." He says. "No, any girl would kill for that." I look away. "I'd kill for that." I say under my breath.
"Y/n?" He asks. My eyes turn to his c/e/c eyes. "Yeah?" I reply. "Do you like me?" He asks. I look away again. "If I tell you the truth will you not be my friend anymore?" I ask him, wiping my clammy hands on my sweats.
He shakes his head. "I thought that if you did we could... maybe date?" He almost asks. I look at him with shock. "After I feel better though." I nod my head, understanding.
"Then yes, I do like you." I tell him, butterflies erupting in my stomach. "Sooo, can I do this?" He presses his lips so mine. I slowly wrap my arms around his neck and pull away.
"I guess I'll accept it." I tell him, smiling uncontrollably. "Good."

Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows.
