《His Angel - Klaus Mikaelson》Chapter 33 - 3x15

When I first woke up, I was disoriented, not quite sure where I was. I was laying in a silky bed in the arms of another...man?! My face was right in line with the soft golden eyelashes of Klaus Mikaelson, who was still sleeping.
Half of my body was on top of his, and my head lay on his outstretched arm. His other arm was draped around my waist, placing us in a very secure position which was hard to get out of.
The events of last night suddenly washed over me, and I didn't know if I regretted it..or wanted to do it again.
I slowly inched my way out of Klaus's grip and pulled my clothes on from the last night. I looked in the mirror in slight disgust, eying my smeared makeup and my ruffled hair.
I almost didn't hear him until he was right behind me, his breath tickling my ear.
"Good morning Angel," he murmured. "Sleep well?"
His arm slid around my waist as he placed a small kiss on my bare shoulder. I smiled softly, letting out a soft sigh as his lips moved onto my neck. His hand reached up to angle my face to the side and he pressed his lips against mine.
"Klaus, I need to go," my muffled voice protested, but he groaned.
"Why can't we just stay in bed all day. I don't have any evil plans today you know," he smirked.
"Maybe just five more minutes then Nik," I agreed, kissing him again but he seemed frozen. "What?"
"Say that again," he growled, his eyes darkening.
"Say what again?"
"My name."
"What, Nik?" I bit my lip seductively, trailing my nails up his back, rising goosebumps on his skin. "You like that?"
"This time, you let me take control," he whispered against my mouth, lifting my up as I wrapped my legs around his waist.
He zoomed back to the bed and we fought for control, him eventually winning. We were so caught up in the heat of the moment that we didn't hear his bedroom door swinging open.
"I have been calling your bloody name for an entire h–" the voice stopped. "Oh my lord."
We separated in a split second, lips swollen, hair messed up, and wearing the guilty expressions of doing something we shouldn't have. Rebekah stared at us in astonishment, not even bothered that we were both half-naked.
"FINALLY!" she shrieked in sheer excitement. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this to happen!"
"Wait, you're not mad?" I asked meekly.
"Of course not! This means not only was I right about everything, I also get my 40 euros!!" she whooped. "Elijah for some bloody reason thought Kol would get to you first."
"Kol?" Klaus growled. "Well, I'll be sure to let him know to stop trying. What did you want Rebekah?"
"Oh nothing!" she said quickly, hurrying out, but not before winking at me. "You two continue having fun. Lot's of it."
∆ ∆ ∆
"And where did you spend the night?" Caroline bombarded as soon as I walked back into the apartment. "OH MY GOSH! Is that a hickey?!"
"NO!" I squeaked, pulling the collar of my coat up higher. "What are you still doing here?"
"I'm sleeping over again," she said matter-of-factly. "Duh."
"You're still in your makeup from last night," I said suspiciously. "What have you bee doing, hmm?"

"I've been doing Rebekah."
I choked on my own saliva. "Wait, what?! No wonder she was so chipper this morning when she interrupted me and Klaus!"
"WAIT, WHAT?!" Caroline repeated my statement. "I knew it! We're both screwing Mikaelsons!"
"What did you just say?" our heads whipped around to find Elena standing at the doorway, an angry expression on her face.
My stomach dropped, realising I had forgotten to close the door.
"What are you doing here?" I asked rather harshly.
"I needed to talk to Caroline," she said back vehemently, crossing her arms. "But now I don't think I want to. Rebekah tried to kill me 48 hours ago. I can't believe you would do this."
Seeing Caroline's panicking expression, I took a step towards the brunette. "Caroline can do whatever she wants. Not everything is about you Elena."
"I'm not saying that!" Elena protested in a hurt expression. "And what about you Kaitlyn? What do you have to say for yourself? I knew you were closer with Klaus, but I didn't think he had brainwashed you enough to sleep with him!"
"Get out," I said calmly, though it was evident in my voice that I was going to get angry.
"E-excuse me?" she stuttered.
"You cannot just come to my apartment and start judging us about our life choices. Especially when you're kissing both Salvatore brothers at the same time, who by the way, are just as bad as any other supernatural! So yeah, you heard me. Get out. Now."
Her jaw dropped, then closed, and she stomped out with a scowl on her face.
"Is she always this self-centered?" I asked, exasperatedly turning towards a gaping Caroline.
"Yeah, kind of. But we always let it slip," she answered. "I have never seen anyone speak to her that way. I'm kind of scared, but mostly amazed."
"Oh well, someone needed to snap her back to reality. I'm gonna watch a movie, you wanna join?"
"Kaitlyn, we still have to talk about it," the blonde sighed.
"About what?" I asked innocently, already knowing what she was going to say.
"About the Liam situation," she pressed. "What are we going to do?"
"You mean what am I going to do," I corrected. "This is my problem Caroline. You don't have to worry about it."
"Yes I do!" she said furiously. "I'm your friend, and I care about you! And I need to know what you're planning, so spill."
I sat down on the couch and faced the ceiling, my stomach rumbling due to the lack of breakfast. The truth was, I hadn't thought about it at all. I was too busy being caught up in my silly romantic fantasies with a certain hybrid to be thinking of my psychotic brother.
"I'm going to kill him," I stated numbly. "For real this time."
"Katie..."
"I am!"
"But how?" she challenged.
"I don't know," I groaned. "He hasn't done anything yet. Maybe he's not even plotting anything."
"He literally said he was going to kill you," she deadpanned.
"Yeah! Well, maybe he changed his mind."
"Right."
"Oh, by the way, I told Rebekah to come over today, so she might be here any second," I changed the subject, and Caroline jumped up.
"WHAT?!" she yelled, and I cringed at the noise. "I'M STILL IN MY PAJAMAS!"

Just then, the doorbell rang and Caroline whooshed into her room, screaming slightly. I stifled a laugh and buzzed Rebekah in.
"So... did you and Nik have fun?" was the first thing she asked as soon as she saw me.
"Bex!" I exclaimed. "I don't want to talk about it. It'll probably never happen again."
"Mhm. You keep telling yourself that darling."
"I brought you here to help me with my Liam problem. After all, you are good at evil master plans," I reminded her, and she sighed, settling down on the couch.
"Okay, well. First of all, we need to locate him. Your friend Bonnie can do that, right?" Rebekah raised an eyebrow and I nodded. "Okay, then we plan an ambush in which we knock him out and ask him a few questions. Then, we kill him. Simple as that. Do you have the sword?"
"Yeah, after the sacrifice ritual Stefan gave it back to me after I passed out. In fact, it's in my safe right now," I told her, motioning towards my room. "But don't you think he'll be prepared for all of that?"
"Well, do you have any better ideas?" she challenged, and after a moment's hesitation I shook my head.
Her phone starting ringing persistently just as she had opened her mouth to speak. Frowning she read her texts, her scowl deepening.
"I need to go," she said abruptly, standing up and walking to the door.
"Wait!" I called in confusion. "What happened?"
"It looks like my mother actually wants to kill me and my entire family. And now I have to help keep that idiotic doppelgänger hostage and possibly even kill her to have leverage over Stefan and Damon to help us stop her," she said quickly, and my brain was somersaulting as I tried to grasp what she just said.
"What?" was all I could say, but she had already zoomed away.
At the same moment, Caroline ran out of her room wearing a dress and having applied a fresh layer of makeup.
"Oh Rebekah. You're here, what a surprise?" she leaned seductively on the table, her voice faltering as she realised that we were alone. "Wait, wasn't she here?"
"Yeah, you're a little late," I said bitterly, still trying to understand what the Mikaelson drama was now.
∆ ∆ ∆
Elena Gilbert walked through the many tunnels underground, panic clawing at her insides as she slowly started realising that she wasn't going to find a way out. She couldn't believe that Elijah would do this to her, after all, she had believed that he was the best brother of them all.
But what had shocked her the most was Caroline's betrayal. Why on earth would she have slept with Rebekah, especially after knowing how violent she had been towards her?
Kaitlyn was also getting on her nerves, which was the sole reason why she didn't think to much of the fact that the girl was linked to the Mikaelson's as well. Esther had told her that very night, to test her loyalty. Elena had not hesitated to agree.
That girl needed to leave.
All of a sudden, blond hair whipped through the tunnels and the brunette came face to face with Rebekah.
"W-what are you doing here?" she stammered.
"Not much," the blonde answered loftily. "Unless you try to run. In which case, I get to kill you."
∆ ∆ ∆
"Hey," Bonnie's voice shook me out of my train of thoughts, and I looked up from my table at the grill to see her.
"Hey," I answered in mild surprise. "You came."
"Of course I did," she replied. "You know I've already forgiven you for the whole Hellcraft thing."
"I know, but I thought you were also mad at me for...you know..."
"Canoodling with Klaus?" she raised an eyebrow, and I almost choked on my own saliva. "Yeah, I'm a little peeved. But I'm not here to judge your poor life decisions. I'm here to help you as a friend."
"Thanks," I breathed in relief. "I need you to help me locate Liam."
"W-what are you talking about?" she stuttered. "Liam's dead Katie."
"Actually, he's super alive," I pinched the bridge of my noise. "And he's planning on killing me. So I have to kill him first."
"Okay, give me something that belongs to him," she said, and my head snapped up to look at her in shock.
"Wait, no arguments?"
"I've learned a long time ago not to underestimate you," she laughed lightly. "I'm on your side."
"Well, I have, umm, I actually don't have anything of his..." I scratched my head sheepishly. "Wait! What if we just go to the old apartment he used to live in!"
"Yeah, okay. But you'll need to do that by yourself, I'm meeting up with Jeremy," she started to get up and I nodded.
"Okay, I'll call you later then."
∆ ∆ ∆
"The hexagram represents our connection to magic. The salt is a symbol of the Earth."
The voice of Esther Mikaelson brought Bonnie back to reality. She had been consumed in slight guilt for lying to Kaitlyn about seeing Jeremy, when in reality she was helping the mother of the man Kaitlyn fancied kill him and his family.
"And the torches?" Bonnie motioned to the 6 flames on each point of the shape.
"For each of my children," Esther said, but Bonnie's eyebrows quirked.
"But you only have 5 children," the young witch said slowly. "Who's the last one for."
"Enough with the questions!" Esther snapped. "As the witch who cast the spell that made them vampires, I can also reverse it. When they become human again, they can be killed. As they are linked as one, my brave Finn will be the sacrifice. With his death, will come theirs."
Abby Bennet turned to Finn in slight doubt. "And you're just willing to die?"
"My mother has released me from an eternity of shame. It's not a sacrifice, it's a gift," the Mikaelson replied simply.
∆ ∆ ∆
"I guess you think I had this coming, huh? After what I did to you?" Elena snapped, unable to take the unbearable silence any longer.
She had managed to run into the one place in the cave where vampires couldn't enter, effectively saving her own life as Rebekah was furiously pacing around outside.
" You know, I don't know what I want more, to find out we're saved or to find out it's alright to kill you," the blonde vampire replied cooly.
"This isn't my fault," Elena tried to argue. "I wanted to get rid of Klaus. At one point, so did you. I didn't know that your mom was planning on killing all of you."
"I don't care," Rebekah said bluntly. "Now shut up."
"You know, you should be a little more worried. After all, it isn't just your family's life that's in danger with this link," Elena spoke up, a smile spreading across her face after realising the one thing that could hurt Rebekah at this moment.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"You don't know?" Elena teased in a nature that was almost unnatural for her, yet her anger for Kaitlyn still burned inside. "Kaitlyn was included in the link. If your family fails, she will die as well."
"You're lying," Rebekah snarled, but the blonde couldn't deny the sense of panic that she felt deep in her gut.
"Fine, don't believe me," Elena said, and sat down on the floor, playing with two sticks.
Rebekah walked a few metres away, fishing out her phone from her pocket and attempted to call her friend. To her deep dismay, she realised that she had no internet down in the caves, and hissed in frustration.
How on earth was she going to warn Kaitlyn? She pondered walking out of the cave right then, she was obviously quick enough to do it, but before she could make a rational decision, she cried out, a deep pain stabbing her heart.
Rebekah's skin turned grey as she fell to the floor, momentarily dead.
∆ ∆ ∆
10 minutes beforehand, Kol Mikaelson was situated in the Grill, gazing at Meredith and Alaric in slight disgust. He was also annoyed at the fact that Kaitlyn was now interested in his brother. He decided that he needed something to take it off his mind.
"A woman of your caliber ought to choose more suitable company. What's your name, love?" he walked over to Meredith, flashing her a dazzling smile.
"None of your business," the woman snapped, knowing what Kol was.
"Let's try that again. I'll start. I'm Kol," he smiled dangerously, feeling slight anger radiate off of him.
"Why don't you get lost, Kol?" Meredith said with the same tone.
"And why would I do that? I like pretty little things with sharp tongues."
"I'm pretty sure she told you to get lost," Alaric walked towards Kol in fury.
"I'm pretty sure I don't care," Kol said emotionlessly, not noticing the older man taking out a familiar silver dagger until it was buried in his heart.
"Next time, take a hint," Alaric whispered in Kol's ear, the Mikaelson brother collapsing to the floor.
∆ ∆ ∆
Kaitlyn was rummaging through all the drawers in Liam's old apartment, desperately searching for something that was personal to him. Bonnie had informed her that the more important the object was to him, the stronger the spell would be.
The place had been emptied out after he "died", probably from Augustine in a favour for him. But there must have been something they missed, right?
Before she could look further however, a sudden pain erupted in her chest, and she screamed, clutching the place where her heart lay, her knees giving away to the floor.
"What the hell is happening!" she whispered to herself through the pain, before passing out.
However, 10 minutes later she was revived again, and she shot up from the ground in surprise, laying a hand over her chest when she felt no pain anymore.
She felt perfectly normal again, yet she had no idea why she had passed out. She lacked the knowledge that Kol Mikaelson had been undaggered by a raging Klaus, effectively waking her up as well. She was so confused that she didn't notice the figure standing by the doorway, until the voice brought her out of her reverie.
"Well this makes it easier for me. You're already here dear sister."
Liam Paige.
∆ ∆ ∆
"Liam.." I hated the way my voice shook.
I was supposed to be brave! I was supposed to be ready for this. But my newfound courage had liquified and evaporated, leaving me with nothing but a wrenching fear.
"Yes, that's my name. Don't wear it out," he chuckled darkly, closing the door behind him, the sharp bang making we flinch.
"You made a mistake coming back here," I stood up, trying to appear menacing, but it obviously didn't work since Liam smiled meanly.
"Aww, you're so cute when you're trying to be brave. No, the mistake was you thinking you could kill me. That was very cruel of you Kaitlyn, to cut my wings off and let me bleed to death. I'm lucky I had friends in high places."
"Are you still drinking Hellcraft?" I challenged, the question had been nagging at me for weeks.
"Why, do you want to know if you even had a chance at beating me? Quick answer, you can't."
"Why do you even want to kill me Liam," I asked tiredly. "Why can't we just call it even. It's exhausting, it really is, to have this long standing battle with you."
"I'm losing power. Our mother's energy is nearly gone, leaving me with just myself. And however insignificantly small your power is, it's still strong enough to supply me with enough energy to finish my task."
"Which is what?"
"I know of other angels in this world Kaitlyn. And I'm going to strip them of their powers, one by one, until I am the mightiest creature on the planet! And besides, even if I changed my mind about killing you, it's too late now."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, a growing sense of panic rushing through me.
"Any minute now, and you'll drop dead, just like all of the other Mikaelson's. In fact, they should be reciting the spell right about now," he smirked, and the gears in my brain sped up, desperately trying to comprehend what he meant.
He looked at his watch, his smile growing as he read the time.
"3...2...1.." he whispered, his eyes lighting up as he expected me to collapse on the floor once again.
But nothing happened.
∆ ∆ ∆
"This will only hurt a second," Damon said menacingly, inching towards Bonnie's mother with his fangs out.
