《A Completely Different Story》{Nine}

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem.
-Captain Jack Sparrow.
-Luke-
If there's one thing that annoys me greatly as a Britain, it's when Americans act like we're from a completely different planet.
Right now I'm in lunch, sitting at a table with the football team. Parker had forced me to sit with them and some chicks came too just to ask questions.
"Did you ever get the chance to eat tea with the queen?" One asked. I turned to face her and furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yes, I saw her almost every day, since being the queen she wasn't really busy. What about you? Have you had the honor of eating McDonalds with Obama?" I asked sarcastically. Forgive me but that was a stupid question.
The girl giggled for no reason and touched my arm. "You're so funny!" She exclaimed. I looked at Parker for help. He noticed and sighed.
"Piper, you're annoying him. Go see how your boyfriend is doing." She nodded and went off without another word, and the other girls left to go retouch their make up.
I spotted Maggie walking in the cafeteria and grinned. "Maggie!" I yelled. She froze in her spot and looked at me as if she wanted to kill me. I motioned her to come sit with us, but she shook her head. That's when I realized that everyone was looking at her and whispering things.
Maggie slowly walked towards the cafeteria line, paying no mind to the glares people were throwing at her. I shook my head. Do these people not have any mind to how she's feeling? I excused myself from the table and walked towards her.
"People are going to start believing those rumors even more if you keep speaking to me in public." Maggie said.
"Oh, so if I wanna talk to you no one can know about it?" Maggie closed her eyes and shook her head.
"I didn't mean it like that, but the rumors are getting worse Luke." Suddenly, a guy came up to her with a smile. "Hey Maggie." She looked surprised to see him.
"Aiden, what's up?" She asked. He smirked and shrugged. "Not much, but I have a question. How much is it for two nights in a row?" He asked in a whisper. Maggie's face paled while mine grew red with anger.
I chuckled sarcastically. "That was probably the most stupid thing to say. Especially in front of a Britain." I grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him away from Maggie. He glared at me and scoffed.
"Listen up new kid, stay out of people's business." He pushed me and I stumbled just a little bit before pushing him back.
"Learn how to treat someone right." I retorted. He went for a punch but I dodged it and punched his stomach. Aiden doubled over and clutched his abdomen.
"A guy that can't respect a female is known as Chauv. Grow some bullocks and get your head on straight." I took Maggie's hand and pulled her out of the cafeteria. She pulled away once we were out in the empty hallways.
"What was that?" She asked, gesturing behind her. Is it just me or are her eyes more blue?

"Hello?" I blinked and cleared my throat.
"I was defending you. He was being rude."
"You were getting physical with him!" She exclaimed. I quirked an eyebrow and she blushed as she realized what she said.
"You have a dirty mind." She shook her head in disbelief. I laughed and crossed my arms. "Says the girl who knew what I was thinking." She glared at me and I couldn't help but think it made her look adorable.
Her nose would scrunch up and one of her eyes would twitch. "You don't get it, do you? People are going to make even more rumors now Luke." I swallowed and put my finger under her chin.
"What you have to do is ignore them. Don't be disappointed, be a pineapple." Maggie looked at me as if I were crazy. "How in the world is being a fruit going to help me? What do you even mean by that?"
I smiled and found myself brushing back a strand of her hair. "Stand up tall, wear a crown, and stay sweet on the inside." I answered. Maggie looked into my eyes, I could see confusion in hers, and something else. Something that was most likey in my eyes too.
"And what if people come up to me like Aiden did? How would a pineapple help?" She asked. I smirked and shrugged. "Well you're also prickly on the outside, so you can always kick arse." She laughed and I felt something warm wash over me.
I smiled and ruffled her hair. "Let's go get you some lunch, yeah?" She nodded and followed me back in the cafeteria. People stared and whispered so I decided to keep Maggie's mind off it.
"So I have this friend who wants to meet you." I stated. Maggie looked up at me surprised. "You told your friend about me and he wants to meet me?" She repeated. I smiled and shook my head. "Yes, but my friend is a she. Miranda and I were best friends before I moved from England. She's here on a mini vacation, and she's tech smart, so I asked her to take down the website. She wanted to know more about you, and now she wants to meet you." I explained. Maggie bit her lip and for a second I started to wonder if they were as soft as they looked.
"Well, it depends when. I'm sort of busy with Graham and work." I tilted my head. "We could come over to your place when you're off shift. Only if that's okay with you of course." I thought she was about to protest but se cut herself off before speaking again.
"Actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea. My sister sort of wants to meet you too. I told her about that thing you did to Ms. Avercill on your first day. She officially likes you." I laughed and we stepped up next in line.
"So you're from England." Maggie stated. I smiled and nodded my head. "That I am."
"How come your parents have an accent but you don't?" I shrugged and scratched my jaw. "Well, I started speaking as if I were American after people kept on asking me repeatedly to say something British. It gets sort of tiring after awhile."

"That's understandable. To be honest I've only heard your accent twice." We started walking towards a table and I gave her a confused glance. "When?"
She put up a finger as she stated te occasions I spoke in m original accent. "The first time we met, you were so mad about almost hitting me that your accent was thicker than I was during pregnancy. And the second time just right now, when you were arguing with Aiden. I guess your accent only comes out when you're angry." She sad with a smirk. I huffed and crossed my arms.
"In my defence you almost gave me a heart attack that day. One second I'm driving on an empty road and the next you're right in front of my car. I want to have a life without any jail records thank you very much."
"Is everyone from England this dramatic? Or is it just you?" She teased in return. I scoffed and gaped at her. "I am not dramatic." Yeah you are.
Bugger off mind!
"You are. I'll have to video tape you one day so you can see it yourself."
"Well maybe if-"
"Maggie Brown and Luke Banfield, report to the principal's office. Once again, Maggie Brown and Luke Banfield, report to the principal's office." The intercom went off and Maggie groaned.
"If I get a detention I'm screwed." Maggie groaned. We both stood up and made our way to the office.
"Take a seat. I was told about what went down in the cafeteria. First of all, Maggie, are you okay?" Mr. McAdams asked once we entered. I looked at Maggie as she nodded. "Yes, I'm fine thank you." She replied.
I furrowed my eyebrows but decided to comment on her answer later. "Okay. Now Mr. Banfield, I know you were defending Maggie and you barely did harm to Aiden, but I ask of you to not hit anyone again. Since Aiden wasn't left in a critical condition I'll let you off the hook, but only this once." I nodded my head and crossed my arms.
"Yes sir, I understand." He dismissed us back to lunch, but Maggie wasn't hungry anymore, so we decided to go outside and hang by a tree until next period.
"Fine?" I asked once we sat down. Maggie looked up at me and tilted her head. "What?"
"You said you were fine." I remembered how she had told me she was fine at the grocery store too, and a little bit of anger washed over me.
"Yeah. Is there a problem?" Maggie was on edge and she knew where I was going with this.
"You know, when people say they're fine it's because they don't want others to see how they feel on the inside." I stated.
"That was nice. It should go in the book of quotes." I stared at her until she gave in.
"What's wrong with being fine? Fine isn't anything bad." She defended. I laughed and shook my head, not believing what I was hearing.
"Maggie fine isn't an emotion. Happy, calm, sad, angry, frustrated, those are emotions. How do you really feel?" Maggie stared at me as she tried to think of a word. I stared back with the same intensity she had in her eyes.
"I feel, calm." She said slowly. My dad once told me that everyone has a little habit they do when they're lying. It could be a twitch, a scratch of a nose or an arm, anything that a person absentmindedly does to give away their bluff.
I tried to find Maggie's bluff, but she's gotten so used to hiding what she's really feeling that I'm afraid she'll burst soon.
"Calm?" I asked for confirmation. She finalized it with a nod. "Calm."
"So you don't have the urge to cry sometimes? You never want to just scream?"
"What does it have to do with you?" Maggie quirked an eyebrow and I sighed. There was an urge that I had to lean forward and kiss her, but then again she'll just start avoiding me if I do.
"The people who care are the ones who ask." I whispered.
"So, your friend Miranda. She could come over Friday after school if she'd like. I don't have work." Bingo.
Changing the subject. I decided to brush it off for now and nodded. "Yeah, I'll give you my number after school and you can just give me your address."
The bell went off and we both stood up. "I'll race you to class." I announced. Maggie widened her eyes and started to run. I grinned and ran after her.
"I used to be in track British boy!" She exclaimed.
"Well I play football, I run up and down a field as a hobby just to kick a ball!" I retorted, catching up to her. She laughed and picked up her pace, ignoring the protests of teachers nearby.

-Maggie-
"You have his number now?!" I sighed and nodded my head, answering Sarah's question. "Yep. But that doesn't mean anything." I warned. We were currently in her room and I had Graham on my lap, occasionaly making silly faces at him. Sarah rolled her eyes and brushed it off. "Yeah, yeah. Oh, get Graham dressed. I made you and him an appointment to get pictures taken together."
I widened my eyes. "Say what?! Sarah, you know how I am with photos." I objected. I looked down at Graham who was looking at one of the spots on Sarah's bed spread as if it were the most precious thing on earth.
"I know, but the ones we have are from when Graham was in your stomach and right after he was born. We need some of you and him to be in frames, not just in your phone gallery." I sighed, realizing she was right. My whole entire phone gallery is photos of Graham. They're cute but not 'professionally taken' cute.
"Fine. Did you set up a theme or something?" Sarah shook her head. "Dress him up in that suit aunt Cassidy got him. It would look so cute! Oh, and I bought you an outfit." I looked up at her from my focus on Graham.
"Please tell me it isn't anything above my knee caps."
"Just an inch."
I shook my head and picked Graham up. "I'm not wearing make up then." Sarah scoffed and walked towards her closet.
"We'll see about that."

8 229Monster? So be it,
Generic Monster Isekai story. Guy dies, meets a god, the entity says that he is willing to reincarnate him to a new world as a new creature, etc etc. The protagonist is an established serial killer on his past life so I'll probably make a grimdark setting or something. Idk

8 95The Youngest Pevensie (a narnia fanfiction)
Everyone knows the story of the Pevansie Siblings, their adventure to Narnia, Edmund being enchanted by the witch, Mr Tumnus and of course Aslan. Something everyone forgets is their youngest sibling Sophie. She was just a baby when her siblings were evacuated so she had to stay at home with her mother. However when Edmund and Peter got into a fight at the train station she was 4 and was next to her siblings when they were called back to lead Narnia again. This time she's along for the ride.I own the character Sophie Pevansie and no one else. All rights go to C.S Lewis for the storyline. I'm basing it off the movie.
