Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure everything out all at once. Breathe. You're strong. You got this. Take it day by day.

If you were to use one word to describe me, procrastinator would be a pretty good one.
Right now I'm laying in bed debating if I should paint my room right now or not. I could just do it tomorrow, but then I know I'll just put it off until next weekend. I sighed and shook my head, knowing that my mom would kill me if I didn't. After standing up and putting on a clean shirt, I grabbed my car keys and went downstairs to the kitchen.
"Good morning!" My mum chirped. She was baking I have no idea what in the oven, but it smelled amazing.
"Whatever that is save me some. I'm going to the store to buy paint." I said. She smiled and nodded.
"Okay, just don't take too long. I think I want to move that couch again." She said. I widened my eyes in exasperation.
"We moved it sixteen more times last night! It's perfectly fine the way it is mum." She looked at the couch uncertainly and sighed. "I don't know, but I guess I can leave it like that." She shrugged and poured herself a cup of coffee.
I walked outside towards my car. The first thing I did when I started the engine was turn on the air conditioner. Without a doubt I will go to the beach and cool off today. I searched up directions to the nearest paint store and started to drive.
Half an hour later I was about to drive off until my phone started ringing.
"Yes mum?"
"Luke, would you mind going to the grocery store for me?" She asked. I sighed and bit my lip.
"I kind of would mum, I still have to paint my room." I replied.
"Too bad, I didn't ask you. I'll send you a list of what I need." She hung up and I stared at my phone in confusion.
She did ask though.
After my mum sent the list I started making my way to the grocery store.
I parked my car and headed inside. Once I grabbed a shopping cart I opened the list my mom sent me.
I practically choked on my own spit as I read it.
Bread
Ground beef
Honey
Flour

Eggs
Rubbers
Sausages
Meat balls
Lip balm
Almond milk
Vasaline
Laundry detergent
I called my mom after reading the list.
"Yes dear?" She greeted. I looked around and started to grab some of the stuff on the list.
"Mum, I'm not going to get everything on the list." I said.
"Why not? Did you not bring enough money with you?"
"No mum, it's not that, but I'm not going to stand in front of the cashier as he or she scans some certain things you needed on the list." I explained.
"Oh, don't be ridiculous honey. It's like if you were buying a box of tampons!" She coaxed.
I shook my head. "I'm not buying a box of condoms!" I sneered. Just my luck, I had just walked in an aisle when I said the last four or five words. There was a nun staring at me with a horrified expression, holding a box of fruit snacks. I widened my eyes, lowering my phone.
"I'm so sorry."
The nun shook her head and left. I sighed and put the phone back to my ear.
"I'm still not buying it for you." I said.
"I will make you move every single piece of furniture again three more times if you don't." She threatened.
************
"Will this be all for you sir?" The cashier asked as she chewed her gum. I nodded, feeling completely embarrassed as I placed the box of rubbers on the conveyor belt.
I felt the hairs on my neck stand so I looked up to see the nun glaring at me three cashier boxes down. She shook her head and wrapped her hand around the cross hanging from her neck before closing her eyes. I watched as she started to pray, probably asking the lord to forgive us all for our sins.
I will kill my mum.

-Maggie-
I was in no mood to go downstairs today. All I've been doing since I woke up was play with Graham, and feed him. Sarah is at the mall with some of her friends so I have literally no one to talk to.
I walked into the bathroom with Graham and filled the tub just a little bit with warm water. I had tried feeding him some food again but he thought it would've been a perfect facial mask and now he's all sticky.
Baths always get Graham tired, so I put him to sleep after. Looking at him sleep just reminded me of the day I figured out I was pregnant. I didn't have to take a test to know. The morning sickness and the expanded appetite gave it all away. My mind flashed back to the time I told my parents the news.

-flashback-
Middle of last year.
I bounced my leg up and down underneath the table as my parents, Sarah and I were eating dinner. I was planning on telling my parents that I had a living human being growing inside me today and I had a whole bunch of nerves drowning me.
"Honey, you look pale. Are you okay?" My dad asked. I looked up from my plate and tightened my grip on the fork I was holding when I saw the concern sketched on his face.
My eyes watered and I shook my head. "C- can I talk to you and mom in private?" I asked quietly.
My parents shared a worried glance and sent Sarah upstairs.
"Maggie, you're scaring us darling. What happened?" My mom asked. I felt the tears fall down my cheeks as I looked down at the table.
"I- I'm expecting." I said. My voice was wavering so I cleared my throat.
"Sweetheart, you're gonna have to speak up a little." My dad placed his hand over mine and gave it a small squeeze. I broke out into sobs and rested my forehead against my other hand.
"I'm having a baby." I said a little clearer. I felt my hand go cold as my dad took his away as if I had burned him. That gesture itself let me know how he was going to react.
My dad blinked a few times as my mom had her eyes wide with shock. "That can't be. It's impossible. To be pregnant you would have to have- no. You can't be pregnant!" My dad exclaimed.
"I'm so sorry, I-"
"You're sorry? For what? Spreading your legs like some irresponsible teenager and getting knocked up at seventeen? Who's the father?!" My dad boomed. I flinched and shook my head.
"I don't know." I whispered. He slammed his hand on the table.
"You don't know?! How many guys have you slept with?!"
I shut my eyes tightly and bit my lip. "Evan that's enough. Maggie go up to your room." My mom said. I wasted no time in standing up and rushing upstairs.
Sarah sitting on the top of the staircase. She had a shocked expression on as she looked at me.
I was about to speak but she stood up and dragged me into her room before pulling me into a tight hug. I broke down again and sobbed as she rubbed my back in circles without saying a word.
"I'm so sorry." I kept on whispering.
-end of flashback-
"Maggie." I jumped a bit and blinked as someone shook my shoulder. Sarah was looking at me with concern.
"Why are you crying?" She asked. I shook my head.
"I'm okay. Why are you back so early? You just left." I whispered as I placed Graham in his crib.
"I left at nine in the morning. It's half past three." I widened my eyes and followed her out of Graham's room with the monitor in my hand.
"Oh. I didn't even notice that. I have to shower and start getting ready for work. We'll talk later?" I asked. Sarah smiled and nodded before walking out of my room.
My phone started ringing as I put on my shoes to leave. "Hello?"
"Maggie, it's Bay. Theme for tonight is a San Francisco night back in nineteen forty-seven. I have your outfit here, you just have to do your make up and hair. Got it?" I smiled and nodded my head before realizing she can't see me.
"Yeah. See you in half an hour Bay." I hung up the phone and walked towards my vanity desk. I work at a very nice restaurant just a few minutes away from my house. A lot of people go there dressed nicely and it's always, and I mean always themed depending on what the manager chooses. We have themed nights for kids and for grown ups and every time before work Bay, a coworker of mine always calls to tell me what theme we're doing.
***********
"Maggie, over here!" Bay called out the second I walked into the employee room. She handed me a hanger that had my outfit being covered with a black wrap bag. "Make up looks gorgeous by the way." I smiled and went off to get dressed.
"Write down those orders like Noah wrote those letters to Allie." Jensen, our manager, said. I laughed and walked through the flip doors before making my way to the table of three people.
"Good afternoon and thank you for coming to Rose vineyards. My name is Maggie and I'll be your waitress for tonight."

Friendship Overload
A capricious master of the past is saved by an unsuspecting girl. When told to pick her reward, she merely asks for his friendship. “If so, then I will be your friend. The best damn friend there ever was!” As such begins the journey of a kind hearted girl and her capricious friend. However, the more they learn about the world, the crueler it seems. Will the girl’s light lift it out of chaos, or will her friend’s hidden darkness bury it completely? What is light and what is darkness anyway? In the end, strength conquers all. (More details below↓ ) For those wanting more clear-cut details about the setting: The story revolves around the adventures of a reincarnated reckless mage with evil tendencies and his prodigious friend who’s trying to be a good person. However, the world they live in is low on resources and overpopulated with several races which hate each other’s guts, overpowered monsters that shouldn’t even exist, and paranoid humans on the verge of destruction. Basically, it’s one giant bloodbath waiting to happen. The MCs need to strengthen themselves, learn and adapt to their surroundings (which become more and more insane with each passing chapter), and eventually, hopefully, do something to stop the madness before the world’s destroyed in warfare.

Gaius Atiius Quadratus will not forget this kindness. The MC is based on the monk class of many rpgs, but the story isn't Litrpg. Also he will gain non monk abilities after a while. Fair warning I don't understand the rating system but I'll say M-rated just in case. This is my first story, I accept criticism but I would like the critic to explain the reasoning behind it. Also I'm still figuring how this site works and I have no schedule so updates may be sporadic, at least once a week. Not a native speaker but in the practices, too lazy to actually get the diploma, I got an average of 9.7 out of 10 at the Cambridge C1 level, the CAE, second highest european level for foreign languages, so it should be no problem. Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
