《Wrong Number ✓》Chapter One

The college was filled with students and more pouring in. It witnessed everything ; friendships, laughters, love, heartbreaks, bullying, enmity, secret glances, and so much more.

But then there were also serious nerds and geeks concentrating only on academics while some loved bunking lectures because they were too boring or just because it was fun.

Nandini Murthy was included in both, she studied hard when necessary but she also liked to bunk the lectures with her friends when it would get too much. And although she did have fun, or maybe her definition of fun was different, she was still tagged as a geek. But she never let that affect her.

"Nandini, let's bunk today. Any which ways it's boring science lecture." Her friend Aditi made a face as if science had taken away all her precious things.

"It's an important lecture Adi." Nandini said sternly and Aditi huffed, muttering something under her breath. Nandini smiled to herself but she wouldn't force her to attend when she wasn't interested.

So that is what they did, Aditi left not in a mood to attend while Nandini chose to grace the class with her presence and she was so glad she decided to attend because her crush was also present in the class.

She sat just two seats behind him and stared at him for quite five minutes before the professor entered and suddenly she wished it was a free lecture.

The lectures started and Nandini concentrated on what the professor was saying but time and again her eyes would land on him and she would feel the butterflies inside her stomach whenever he would smile at his friend.

The lecture ended much early to her disappointment because that meant she won't be able to see him anymore. And as expected she saw him collecting his things and slinging his bag on his shoulder he moved out of the class along with his friends.

Nandini sighed dropping her head on the desk. She never had the courage to walk up to him and initiate a conversation because even if so much as he glanced her way and their eyes would meet even for a second, she would find herself blushing and looking away. Stupid, she knows, but can't help it.

"Nandini" She looked up only to find Aditi standing before her and looking confused. She looked around and found the class empty. Was she asleep?

"What were you thinking?" She asked and Nandini's eyes slightly widened making Aditi smirk.

"Let me guess. Was it Ahaan?" She teased and Nandini wanted to glare at her but found her cheeks burning too much to even look at her.

"You know I can help you get promoted in this situation." Aditi said seemingly thinking about something and Nandini's head jerked in her direction. She was very much interested in this offer.

"What?" She asked eagerly and in return for a teasing smile.

"I can get his number for you." She said casually but Nandini went blank for a second. She couldn't believe that she would be able to talk to him although not in person but still it was a big thing for her.

"But in return you will have to tell me everything. Every detail of your chat with him." She put forth a condition and Nandini made a bad face.

"Fine" She agreed after two minutes and Aditi grinned. Soon they left for their home with Aditi promising to message her his number.

Few hours later Nandini was resting inside her room when her phone pinged with Aditi's message. She sat up hurriedly and opened her chat.

A grin broke out on her face and she quickly typed a thank you with the heart emoji. After that the first thing she did is save his number and removed her display picture because she wouldn't want him to know her this soon.

Breathing out a bout of air she finally clicked on the sent button and waited for his reply which came immediately shocking her.

She smiled mischievously at his reply and decided to tease him.

When there was no reply in the next ten minutes, she frowned to herself. She then reread her message and cringed at how creepy she sounded.

What is she? A creepy stalker? Ugh.

But then her phone pinged and she hurriedly checked for his reply.

She blinked taken aback by his response. Why did he add a question mark after his own name? Was he not Ahaan? She panicked at the thought and asked him to confirm it.

She slapped her forehead at his reply and then hid her face in the pillow, muffling her screams of frustration. What in the world was going on? She was supposed to get Ahaan's number and not some stranger's.

Aditi was so dead.
