~ The Second Alternative Ending~
"She's gone. Someone saw her jumping off a cliff, plunging herself in the ocean." Leorio was on the line, almost unable to voice out what happened.
"We were called up to help, but we came late. We can't recover the body. The ocean is too vast... and we fear that even if her body can be found... she will certainly be dead."
Killua stood there frozen. Unable to hear anything more. Unable to feel.
His whole world was crashing down on him. Suffocating him. Killing him from the inside.
He crouched down on his knees, not feeling any strength left on his body.
He cried out her name with a devastating howl that caused all of the guests to all look at him.
The bride he was supposed to marry came to his side. The daughter of one of the Mafia's Ten Dons. The person his family wanted him to marry.
She tried to place her hand on his shoulder but he grasped it before it fell.
"Don't. Touch. Me." Killua looked at her with the eyes of a deadly assassin, and the girl was frozen in place.
Too afraid to look at Killua's eyes. Too afraid to be near him.
Killua laughed and laughed and laughed, all the while tears kept falling in his eyes.
His mind is blank with all but agony and pain. Certainly this can't be real.
He can't accept that the love which was once within his reach has turned to nothing but a bewitching illusion.
This can't be real. He kept muttering to himself in that catatonic state.
No one dared to come near him again.
Seeing the state he is in, the wedding was called off.

Even the mafia cannot risk being associated with such a man. A man so broken, and so dangerous, that he is a threat even to himself.
No one dared to console him anymore and left him alone to suffer with his broken heart.
Still he laughed as he tried to grasp what it means. What that phone call means.
What does it mean. No, he can't accept it. This can't be. So he laughed until everyone in the mansion left.
No one dared to come close to him, not in a hundred meter radius.
A storm brewed in the sky that night.
Lightning struck everywhere as Killua's nen was unleashed. Seeped through him, destroying everything it touches. All the while, the man who possesses the same faded.
The night was filled with laughter and yet no one dared to smile.
The night was filled with anguish and yet no one dared to offer him a hand.
Killua is alone now. Though he wishes to deny it, the reality looked at him in the eye taunting him. Asking him so many whys that he can't even answer.
He has lost the only one who mattered. He has driven her to madness. Enough madness to want her to kill herself.
He wanted to tell her. To tell her he had loved her for so long.
That one snowy Christmas eve was the first time he became aware, but that it has always been just her.
The only one he sees.
That even when he tries so hard to forget her or drive her away from him, she has always been his one weakness.
The weakness he can't let go.
He wanted to tell her he can claim her now, that they can finally be together.
That it doesn't matter what others say. It doesn't matter if he loses eveyone else. If she can come back to him.
He will plead with the Gods, offer his life to her, kill a millions of lives, if it means having her back once again.

But there are no such Gods. He is alone now. The beautiful smile of hers will only be the sweetest memory.
He wanted to be there for her, cling to her, be the one to chant out her name like a prayer and a plea.
Killua wanted a second chance.
He needs a second chance.
To take care of her.
To love and protect her.
She was his stupid Baka.
How dare the universe take away from him his love. Killua laughed some more until his voice was finally scorched dry and the hoarseness thereof swallows the world.
That night, the assassin has no more family. No friends. He lost everything that night.
No aspirations but revenge.
Revenge to the Gods who took away his love.
How dare they deny him courage when a simple word would have sufficed.
How dare them let him care about being an heir to the family business or the concept of friends and family when they knew all along that she is the only one he needed.
How dare they take away her life.
It wasn't suicide.
It was murder.
Love killed her.
Her frail self was broken to pieces by the concept of love.
And for this reason, he has decided to live. To live every day wanting to Kill.
His name is Killua afterall. He will be known as the assassin synonymous to death itself.
He will take every life she has ever saved. No one deserves her love more than him.
She should have only healed him. She should heal him, or the world will end.
So he smiled, knowing she will surely return to him. He will find her, wherever she might be.
He will find her and make her see that they belong together. Forever.
For all eternity.
______
It has been several years now since the night he received the devastating phone call.
The first year without her seemed like the eye of the storm. Killua killed everyone YDN saved. All for the reason that she saved them but refused to save him.
Killua was merciless in his missions, resorting to torture even when the only objective is to kill. He even accepts missions involving the Dark Continent.
He only grew stronger due to the fact that he doesn't even care for self-preservation.
He is driven by a desire to feel. And he only feels any emotion when he kills. But even the feeling of happiness he derives from that is fleeting. So he had to continue killing senselessly.
His name supersedes him. He has become undoubtedly the best assassin the world ever had.
And now the most powerful hunter in the world. Three years after he lost her, Killua Zoldyck has been elected chairman of the Hunters Association.
The main goal for running in the election as the chairman was to find out her whereabouts. A chairman afterall has access to all kinds of information that is restricted to the rest of the world.
He is convinced that she is alive. That she is just hiding away from him. For he had hurt her by almost getting married to another woman.
Though everyone knew his belief is madness, no one dared contradict Killua in his face for fear of a painful untimely death in his hands.
On the outside, Killua Zoldyck is the perfect alpha male. Powerful, terribly handsome and lean, and his family and friends adore him.
His tsundere tendecies has softened after her death, but they didn't know that a new leaf has turned. That he has turned completely evil and sinister.
He has turned completely insane. And with every year without her by his side, he is slipping more to a maddening obsession.
A yandere Killua has been born. With no other goal but to find her, to be with her once again, and to never let her go.
Even at the expense of the whole world itself.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
