Clara pov

True to Kelvin's word, he was ready at exactly 11:00 am. As usual he never speared her a glance, the ride to the airport was a silent. Each in their own thoughts till they entered into to the jet.

"Wow, do travel in it all the time" she asked with eyes roaming everywhere.

"Sometimes, let have a sit. We are about to take off." He led her to their seat, they sat beside each other.

"Okay" She had difficulty with her seat belt, Kelvin couldn't help but notice he shaking fingers.

"Are you allergic right?" he asked.

"Yes.. emm, no, no am not"

"I thought so, let me help, flight sickness?"

"No" She said clenching her teeth, she held the seat so hard her knuckles turned white.

"No need to be shy, I used to be afraid if heights"

She opened one eye to peek at him, he never told her that.

"Don't look at me like that, before being your boss am human and I have feelings. Let me hold your hand"

"Do you mind sharing it"

"If only you tell yours"

"Mine is not much of a story, James actually helped me over come. By making me stand at tall building to rollercoasters"

"I take it you didn't go agree to any of it? "

"You know me so well, it took a lot of blackmail to get me to agree. Am not telling, so don't think about asking. Your turn"

"Erm" she licked her lips, the memory was a terrifying, she was tormented with nightmare for a month.

"It happened almost three years ago, I was returning from a funeral. The plane was already in the air, when I don't I think it had to do with the weather. The plane was heading down, it... it was chaotic..." She looked at their joined arm, it warmed her heat.

"Am sorry you had to go through that" He said wiping a tear on a cheek with his thumb.

She felt everything freeze for both of them, she would have sworn their faces were really close and the would have kissed?. She couldn't tell because they were interrupted by the air hostess.

"Bad timing Missy," she thought rolling her eyes, he jerked his face as though he was burnt.

"Would you like anything Mr. Knight" She asked ignoring her.

"Yes water would be fine, he loves lemon the flavor, I want normal water. " She beat him to reply.

"Yes Cindy." He replied after when she was still standing.

"Oh, yes sorry sir. I will get your order right away. " She glared at Clara before leaving.

"How did you know I love flavored water and lemon too."

"Lucky guess"

"That's a lie, I have never drank it at home."

"Busted" she thought

"Cause am your wife" She said with a smile.

"Real funny, I don't have one. If I had I did know and you wouldn't be here if I was married."

"Meaning... " she stopped when she notice the plane began to shake and the same waitress whispered something into his ears.

"Clara, I need you to be calm"

"What hap.." the plane tilted to the right, then forward"

"Oh no, not again" She closed her eyes to avoid the memories.

"Hey, look at me, breathe. It's going to be fine. Look at me"

"His voice sounded distant, she was in the plane again. She could see the passengers shouting, then it turned to her and Kelvin. She couldn't tell which was real anymore.

"Look at me, oh my gosh, snap out of it" he said snapping his fingers at her face.

"It's over we are about to land"

She could hear him, but she couldn't do anything. It was like her brain had shut down, she couldn't take it again before her eyes rolled to the back of her head.

🤦 and she fainted I didn't see that coming.

I wouldn't blame her, falling from thousand of feet is no joke
