Clara pov

She heard whistling coming from the kitchen island. She turned to see James looking at her.

"Hmmmm, what ever you are cooking smells great. Unfortunately I can't have some"

"And why is that? "

"I have some where to go, thank you for what you did with Kelvin"

She rolled her eyes and turned the sauce, she was preparing Mac and cheese. "You don't need to tell me, it's my duty"

"I know still, on a serious note we need to talk. Things are not going well with the bakery and restaurant"

"What do you mean not looking good, we are having orders and the income is stable"

"True, but... "

"I thought I told you to leave" Kelvin said, leaning on the door frame.

"Am leaving, call Alicia she is in town. Remember you will be my date tomorrow" with that he took a cookie and left.

"Don't even think of accepting" with that he left.

She wouldn't accept to be his date in the first place, and what got Kelvin worked up.

She decided to call Alicia and schedule a meeting.

"Hello Li, how are you" she said holding the phone between her ears and shoulder.

"Am fine, how is hubby doing?" Alicia asked.

"His fine, what is going on with the business"

"Nothing, everything is cool"

"Licia! I want the truth"

"Fine, send me your locatiotion I will come see you"

Alicia told her the location while she served his breakfast.

"Done will see you there." she hanged up. She looked at the table admiring her work.

"This should be delicious"

She turned briskly at his voice, missing her footing and almost came close to the floor, but didn't. She opened her eyes to find her self in his hands.

"Clumsy Clara, I won't be there to save you each time"

She pulled herself away from him, raising are chin high to reply. "You startled me, it's only fair if you saved me"

"That tongue of your will put you in trouble, you better tame it"

"Whatever Mr Knight, so why can't I be James date to whatever party, he will be attending"

"Seriously, you ask that now." He signed and continued eating.

"Fine, but I will be his date and there's nothing you can do" she said in defiance.

"Watch me there is plenty"

"uh huh like you can kidnap me"

"If necessary"

"What"

"You will be my date, I will be attending. After the dinner, I need you to schedule a meeting with Mr falze. I need him to accept my proposal" he said dabbing the napkin on his mouth.

"Did you like the food?" she asked excitedly.

"It was adequate"

"That's all"

"Yeah, what would you want me to say"

"Delicious could do for a start."

"I have high test Lara, adequate is the best you could get."

"You know how to motivate a chef"

"Which chef"

She blinked her eyes at him, she was a good no a great chef. Learnt from the best chef in the whole of Green land. "Me"

He bursted into laughter, "you, a chef interesting. Hmm my clumsy assistant is a chef." he said touching his chin thoughtfully.

She opened her mouth in shock, didn't he read her CV, oh she never submitted one.

"What next, you are a ninja too, that was a good one. Anyways don't go any where someone will be delivering some thing to me. Follow the instruction on it am going to meet some friends."

He took his car key from the key holder, still chuckling at her.

"It's not funny"

The door bell, stopped him from replying.

"I will get it" he walk past her to the door.

"Hi Alicia, what are you doing here?"

She stretched her neck to see if it was the Alicia she was expecting or someone else.

"Come in"

She decided to go around him he was too tall to see, she saw Lady was indeed Alicia. But how come he recognized her.

"You guys know each other?" She asked.

"Come in, well I can't remember where, but I recognized her when I saw her."

He was able to recognize Alicia her friend, but couldn't recognize his wife.

"Are you alright" Kelvin asked.

"Am good" she smiled, he looked at her a little longer before shaking his head.

"Good, don't for get what I told you"

With that he left.

"Is it me or he looked hotter than before" Alicia fanned herself.

"I ask myself the same question everyday."

"If he wasn't yours I did go for him"

"Better cause he is taken and a father too"

"I know do wanna be a step mom"

"Whatever Li, what can I offer you?"

"Water, the sun is on a mission to dry this earth up."

"Really, is that hot"

"Trust it is."

"Alicia have you met Kelvin after the accident?"

"No, why? "

"He remembers you, and not me!"

"Sorry dear, it must hurt but I can't control who he should remember or not."

"Okay, let get down to business"

They spoke for hours, with Clara writing down new ideas. The door bell rang stopping their chat. Alicia opened the door to see a delivery guy, with a box.

"Please sign here madam" she took the pen and signed where he pointed. She took the box curious to see the instruction.

"Wish, box is big, wat is in it? "

"I don't know let's find out" She opened the box to find a card.

"To clumsy Clara, please wear this for the dinner tomorrow, you are my date."
