"But for real, were you trying to kill me"
"..."
Tanaka stared...
That's all he did...
"..."
"... Yes..."
"... Dammit, and to-"
"For I have wanted to obtain more despair by killing the one I dearly love..."
"... Huh...?"
Kazuichi stared at him and blushed, "Dammit..."
"What Kazuichi?"
"...truth i-"
"WE HAVE CAUGHT THEM! THE REMNANTS OF DESPAIR!" A voice shouted, bursting into the room and grabbing their gun.
"H-Huh?!" Souda immediately turned to the door, a worried expression on his face, "i-I coulda swore the building was l-lock-"
"Shhh... Kazuichi, it will be alright, just for now, I request you to hide underneath this table, I will take care of this"
"G-Gundham, but-"
The white haired male glared at Gundham and turned to his trusty assistant, Juzo Sakakura.
"..."
Gundham looked him up and down and turned back around to Kazuichi, "...i will be just fine Kazuichi, don't worry..." He whispered.
...
Kazuichi wasn't worried about his life... He was worried about Gundham...
It's strange really, he knew Gundham tried to kill him once, but that meant he really cared about him...
"Okay..." He whispered.
Tanaka looked out the window and smirked.
"... What are you laughing at huh?! You damn freak" Juzo snarled.
"Nothing, I was merely eyeing the view from the outside, I was planning on my best way to eliminate you..."
"Heh! What an idiot! Lemme guess, your gonna try to throw me out there? Well guess what!? I'm the ultimate boxer, I know your ever mo-"
Just then, Kazuichi grabbed onto his foot and dragged him down.
"Kazuichi! I told you to not interfere!" He shouted, softly kicking Kazuichis hand off of the other, "i-I know... It's just..."

"You damn mother f-"
He ended his sentence as soon as he heard a voice...
"... Juzo, that's enough!" Kyosuke cleared his throat.
"..."
"But-"
"No, just fighting them is a waste of time..."
"..."
He grabbed a bomb and threw it at the table that Kazuichi and Gundham were behind.
Sakakura immediately ran out the room and ran next to his "friend"
then...
"H-Huh...? What is this... S-Stu-... Stuff.."
Kazuichi passed out, along with Gundham...
...
Kazuichi and Gundham woke up in a white room...
...
"Answer us, where are you remnants coming from? Answer honestly or I will have you both executed along with the others"
Kazuichi stared at Gundham and back at the window that showed off none other than Kyosuke Munakata.
"We won't answer a damn thing!" Souda barked.
"Oh, is that s-"
"No, don't punish Kazuichi" Tanaka glared.
"... Fucking Gundham-..." Souda sighed.
"... If you would wish to live, then tell me, Where are you remnants coming from?"
"..."
"It's not our place to tell you! You dumbass, it's not our fault we don't know, we were literally like this because-..." He paused, "... We don't know..."
"..."
He stared at Kazuichi and glared, "thats not true, for why are there so many remnants? Answer that?"
"We don't fucking know! We're literally saying that!"
"..." He grabbed the remote on the desk and stared at us both, "oh really?"
"... Yes.."
Kazuichi took a step back and landed in Tanakas arms.
"Turn that off!" Kazuichi shouted, looking up at the taller male behind him.
"Gundham... A-Are you okay?!" He screeched, patting his partners shoulder.
"Y-yes, I'm fine... Don't worry my prince..." He grunted.
"Stop! Turn that off!"

"Only when you tell the truth"
"That IS the truth, we don't know!" He glared.
"..." Kyosuke clenched his fists and turned to Juzo, "Do it"
"On it" He opened the door and walked inside.
"... What is it that YOU want you bastard" Souda snarled.
"..."
Sakakura grabbed Soudas wrists and pulled him into another room.
"H-Hey! Let go!"
"No way man, I will fight for kyosuke, no one else, I will only listen to him, no one else" He glared.
"That's bullshit! Why the hell would you listen to someone who doesn't even show the same feelings!"
"I-..."
He just huffed and rolled his eyes, "I don't know what your talking about man, just shut up" He threw Kazuichi onto the ground and kicked his stomach, "you remnants are pathetic"
Gundham, in the other room had a panickee look on his face, he was still getting shocked, and he had to watch Kazuichi get hurt...
Such despair...
.... How amazing...
Gundham kept watching with lust in his eyes, yes, Kazuichi meant the world to him, but now that Kazuichi is low on Despair...
... It changes things...
He struggled to speak, all he could do was pant.
"St-...Stop..." He grunted.
Kyosuke stared at him in disgust, "no, for what will I accomplish if I do not elemin-"
"You have to stop! This isn't hope!" A voice echoed.
"... Makoto Naegi... Are you really willing to fight for these remnants?"
"Yes! I will! These people are human too! You have to stop it! We can fix them if we just believe in them!" Naegi said.
"..."
"You don't know hope at all, do you" Munakata sighed.
"I do know what Hope is! And I know that-"
"Silence! You are interrupting something" He glared.
"..."
Makoto just took a step back and shouted, "stop that! Your so full of shit! How can you do that to a human being! They're just different!"
"..."
He ran up to him and snatched the remote from his hand and turned it off.
"... Makoto! How dare you!"
Naegi just opened a the doors with class 77 in it
Kazuichi struggled to walk...
...
"G-Gu.... Gundham..." He whispered.
Makoto ran inside the room with Kazuichi in it and grabbed him by the arms.
"Let go...!" He huffed, struggling to shove Makoto off of him.
"I'm saving you, don't worry..."
Once Makoto finished taking care of all of the remnants of despair, he ran out the building.
"Kyoko! Can you hurry and get the virtual headsets!"
"Okay..."
Kazuichi was on the boat with Gundham and Sonia next to him.
"So how was both of y'alls day?" He asked, resting his head on the boats rail, "I would assume it was alright... Though I can't remember much of it..."
"... really? Hm.. Me neither..."
"Well then my prince... Would you care to take a walk with me to explore this island?"
"... Hm..? Prince?"

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
