My jaw hit the table. I looked up at Chase in disbelief and shook my head.
“No. No way. There is no way you’re related to that bitch.” I said to him. Chase groaned and sat down.
“You think I want to admit it? Kate I know she’s a bitch and a slut and an all around terrible person.” He said.
He looked very upset that he was telling me this. I stood up and walked over to the sink and looked out of the window.
“You really didn’t know that you sister was trying to screw my boyfriend?” I asked him slowly. Chase walked over to me and he put his arms around me.
“I swear to you on my life Kate that I had no idea. You never told me the name of the girl and I haven’t talked to Aubrey since I was 17.” He said. I sighed and hugged him back.
“So what now?” I asked him. Chase shrugged and let me go.
“I can try to talk some sense into her, but I don’t think it will do any good.” He said as he shook his head.
I jumped up on the counter and put my head in my hands
“Chase what am I gonna do? What if he actually likes her or something? What if they’ve already had sex while I’ve been here? What if he leaves me for her?” I asked him through tears.
I felt like my whole world was crashing down on me. Chase walked over and held me again. He gently rubbed my back and ran his fingers through my hair.
“If he loves you at all, he wouldn’t do that Kate. You need to talk to him.” He said in my ear. I shivered and nodded and Chase pulled away.
“Do you want me to go with you?” He asked. I shook my head.
“No, I’ll be alright.” I told him. He nodded and leaned over and his lips brushed against my cheek.
“Call me if you need me okay? I’m always here.” He said softly. I smiled and nodded.
“Thanks Chase.” I said as I walked out of the door.
I squinted from the bright sun, and started walking back to Brian’s house. My body was shaking the closer I got because I didn’t know who was going to be there when I opened the door. As I turned and walked down the driveway, I saw Zacky’s car in the parking lot. I took a deep breath and turned the door knob and opened it.

Sitting in the kitchen was Zacky and Brian. Zacky looked relieved when he saw me and Brian looked ashamed. He also looked like he was hung over. I swallowed and walked into the house and shut the door behind me.
“Is the tramp home?” I asked Zacky. A smiled pulled on his lips and he shook his head.
“Nope, she went to the store.” He said with a hint of anger in his voice.
Brian ran his hand through his hair and turned his head to look outside. Pinkly was sitting on his feet and she was looking back and forth between Brian and me. I nodded and went into the bedroom and went to shower.
When I was finished, before I came out of the room I pressed my ear to the door and listened to Zacky and Brian talk.
“Brian, do you love her or not?” Zacky said in a hushed voice.
Brian mumbled something that I couldn’t hear and I heard someone hit the table.
“Make this right.” Zacky said. I heard the chair scrape against the floor and then footsteps coming towards the bedroom.
I ran from the door and sat on my side of the bed that faced the wall. Someone gently knocked on the door and I turned to look. Zacky had opened it and was looking at me with sadness in his eyes.
“Can I talk to you for a sec?” He asked. I nodded and patted the bed.
Zacky sighed and shut the door behind him. He came over and sat down beside me and put his arm around me.
“He’s really hurting right now believe it or not.” He said. I let out a sarcastic laugh and Zacky nodded.
“I mean it. When he found out you went to Chase’s I thought he was going to go over there and kill him.” Zacky said. I raised my eyebrow and turned to face him.
“How did he know?” I asked. Zacky smiled and shrugged.
“Val. She called him this morning since you wouldn’t pick up your phone.” He said. I rolled my eyes.
“He has no right to be mad. He’s letting some whore stay in our house.” I spat. Zacky nodded.
“I know. It’s strange actually. She dyed her hair brown and dresses more like-“ He stopped and looked away from me.
I waited for him to go on but he didn’t.
“Zack, who does she dress like?” I asked him quietly. He closed his eyes and sighed.

“You, Kate. She’s starting to look like you.” He said. His eyes were now open and he was looking into mine.
“Shit. That’s freaky.” I said. He laughed and nodded.
“Yeah and Brian still doesn’t think that she’s just playing him.” He said with the shake of his head.
I huffed and stood up and started pacing. Zacky stood up and put his hands on my shoulders.
“Talk to him.” He said seriously. I sighed and nodded.
Zacky pulled me in for a hug and left the room. I groaned and looked myself over in the mirror before walking out. Brian was still sitting at the table. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before walking over to him.
“Okay, let’s talk.” I said to him. He jumped at the sound of my voice and slowly turned his head to look at me.
Brian opened his mouth to say something but I shook my head.
“Outside, I need to smoke.” I said as I held up my hand. He shook his head slightly and dragged himself out of the chair and went out.
I pulled my smokes from my pocket and packed them on my wrist. As I pulled one out, I offered the pack to Brian, who slowly reached out and took one and waited for me to hand him the lighter.
After a few minutes of silence, I looked at him and started to speak. He cut me off by pulling me close to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I slowly put mine around his.
“I was worried about you last night.” He mumbled into my shoulder. I rolled my eyes.
“Yeah, that’s why you called to check up on me.” I said.
Brian pulled away from me and looked me in the eyes.
“I’m sorry Kate, but I was angry and confused. Especially after I found out you went to Chase’s. Did you do that just to get back at me?” He asked me. I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest.
“No, I didn’t Brian. I went to Chase’s because he’s the only person I could think of to go to.” I told him.
I could see a little bit of the anger wash away from his face and he took a drag from the cigarette.
“Brian, what in hell made you think that this would be okay with me?” I asked him. He shook his head.
“I don’t know Kate. I just thought that maybe I could help her. Maybe that’s why she acted the way she did and that it would be different.” He said quietly. I shook my head.
“No Brian. She’s a groupie whore and she always will be. She played you so you’d let her live here. Zacky said that she looks like me now? Is that true?” I asked him.
Brian looked down and nodded.
“Yeah, she dyed her hair and tried to dress like you. But, she’ll never be you Kate.” He said softly.
I felt myself smile and I put my hand on his cheek and he looked up at me.
“Kate, I love you.” Brian said. I nodded.
“I love you too. But Brian, as long as she’s living in this house I won’t be.” I told him seriously.
I looked into his eyes and saw all of the light drain out of them. He reached back and gripped onto the railing and it looked like his knees buckled.
“Kate please don’t say that. Please. I need you more than you can understand. Don’t leave me.” He said desperately.
I closed my eyes and let my hand fall from his face and took a few steps back.
“Then tell her to leave.” I said.
Brian nodded quickly and closed the gap between us and held me again.
“As soon as she gets back, I’ll have her gone I promise. Just swear that you’ll stay with me.” He whispered in my ear.
I closed my eyes and held him tightly.
“I swear I’ll never leave.” I whispered back.
From behind me, I could hear the sound of high heels walking from the kitchen onto the porch. Brian tensed up and held me tighter.
“Awe, isn’t this just so sweet. It makes me want to vomit.” A high pitched voice said from behind us.
I looked over Brian’s muscular arm and saw a tall, very thin woman with dark brown hair and stunning blue eyes giving me a death glare from the patio door.
“Aubrey, I want you out of my house now.” Brian said in a dark voice.
Aubrey let out a laugh and slid the door shut.
“Oh come on Brian, you don’t mean that. You’re only saying that because this bitch told you too. But don’t worry, I’ll take care of her.” Aubrey said with a wicked smile and evil glint in her eyes.
