The next morning, Kate woke up first. A smile spread across her face when she saw Brian lying beside her. The sheets were wrapped tightly around his waist and his arm was over his face. Kate slowly ran her finger across Brian’s chest and she watched the goose bumps rise up on his skin. She lifted herself up and straddled his hips again and started kissing his chest.
Brian growled slightly, but Kate could tell he was still asleep. Well, most of him was. Kate smirked and slowly took his hand and moved it off of his face. Brian’s eyes fluttered open and connected with hers. He smiled and pulled her in for a kiss.
“Good morning to you too, baby.” He said in a sleepy, yet sexy voice. Kate giggled and laid on top of him.
“Val was right.” She said dreamily. Brian raised his eyebrow and kissed the top of her head.
“About what exactly?” He asked. Kate blushed and sat up.
Brian couldn’t help but stare at her breasts as she spoke.
“That the ‘catching up’ is the best part of you coming home.” She said sheepishly.
It took Brian a minute, partly because didn’t have much blood in his brain, but when he got it he laughed.
“She said that huh? Well I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.” He said with a chuckle.
Kate laughed too and kissed him before getting out of bed. Brian pouted.
“Aw, you didn’t have to get up.” He said. Kate rolled her eyes and went into the bathroom.
“Yes I did. We need to get moving.” She said. Brian sighed dramatically and followed Kate into the bathroom.
“Fine, but only if we can shower together.” He said with an evil smile.
Kate smiled back and started the water in the shower.
“Sounds good to me.” She said. Brian pulled her in for a kiss and then into the shower.
About an hour later, they were both clean and very satisfied. Kate was sipping some coffee while she waited for Brian. He was talking on the phone when he came out.
“Yeah, from what I know Val and the baby are alright. Kate and I are heading up there now.” He said. Kate finished her coffee and braided her hair absentmindedly.
Brian’s faced was twisted with frustration and he tugged on his hair.
“Okay Zacky, I’ll pass on the message. Later.” When he hung up, he sighed and looked at Kate.
“That was Zacky. He worked it out with our managers so we can stay one day but then we have to get back out there.” He said.
Kate sighed and walked over to him and kissed him softly.
“At least we have today” She said. Brian nodded and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I guess so.” Brian said. His voice was less than happy. Kate pouted and he kissed her again.

“Come on, let’s go check on Val.” He said. Kate nodded and they left.
Kate dragged Brian into the little store in the hospital and bought a stuffed animal and a balloon. When they got to Val’s room, Kate peeked her head in the door.
“Val?” She said softly.
Val grinned and waved them in.
“Come here!” She shouted. Kate smiled and handed her the stuffed bear.
“Baby!” Kate said back as she hugged her tight.
“Val I’m so sorry I wasn’t with you.” Kate said. Val shook her head.
“No don’t be. You made sure Matt was here and I’m grateful for that.” Val said. Kate smiled and sat down in the chair beside her.
“Where is he anyway?” Kate asked. Val beamed.
“With our son.” She said. Kate smiled.
“Awe, Elijah?” She asked. Val nodded.
“Elijah James. Kate, he is the cutest baby ever. And I’m not just saying that because he’s my kid.” She said. Kate and Brian laughed.
“I’m glad that you two worked everything out.” Val said. Kate nodded and Brian put his hand gently on her shoulder.
“So am I.” Brian said. Val smiled.
“Hey guys.” Matt said from the doorway.
Brian gave him a guy hug.
“Congratulations man.” He said. Matt smiled and nodded.
“Thanks.” He said.
Matt crawled into the bed with Val and they both smiled.
“We’re glad you’re both here.” She said. Kate looked up at Brian, who shrugged, then back at Val.
“Why?” She asked. Val grinned and so did Matt.
“Well, we talked about it last night and we’ve decided that you two should be Eli’s god parents.” Matt said.
Kate giggled a little and Brian just looked dumbfounded.
“His God parents?” He asked. Val laughed and Matt nodded.
“Yeah, I mean you’ll obviously be auntie Kate and uncle Brian, but if something should happen to us we want you guys to take care of him.” Val said. Kate smiled.
“We’d be honored.” She said. Brian shrugged.
“Yeah I mean, I don’t think I’d trust Johnny or Zacky with a kid anyway.” They all laughed.
After a couple of hours of talking about the tour, Matt took Kate and Brian to see their God son. Brian put his arm around Kate as she leaned over the incubator.
“Awe he’s so adorable!” She cooed. Matt smiled proudly.
“He takes after his dad.” He said. Brian chuckled and Kate put her hand up to the side.
“He looks perfect.” She said. Matt nodded.
“He is. The doctors said that it’s a miracle that nothing is wrong with him.” He said.
Kate gave him a hug and Brian just shook his hand.
“Hey why don’t you guys go enjoy each other while you can? Val and I are fine here.” Matt said.
“Are you sure?” Kate asked. Brian took her hand.

“Hey, come on before he changes his mind.” Brian whispered loudly. Matt laughed and gave her a nudge.
“I’m sure. We’ll see you later.” He said. Kate nodded and she and Brian left.
“Wow, I can’t believe we’re God parents.” Kate said once they were in the car.
Brian nodded.
“Yeah, let’s just hope nothing happens to Matt or Val.” He said seriously. Kate gave him a sideways glance.
“Why? Don’t you want kids?” She asked him. Brian shrugged.
“I’m not sure. We’re on the road a lot and I don’t think it would be fair to it.” He said. Kate shrugged.
“I understand that I guess.” She said. Brian gave her a quick glance and saw that her face fell a little.
He sighed and drove off to a restaurant for lunch. They made small talk while they ate. Kate could tell something was bothering Brian and she had a feeling it had something to do with children. On the way back to their house, Kate turned and looked at him.
“Hey, I do totally understand you not wanting to have kids for a while Brian. And I’m not saying that I want them either you know.” She said. Brian sighed and nodded.
“I’m not saying that I don’t want a kid, just not any time soon.” He said. Kate nodded.
“I agree. So we’re still okay right?” She asked. Brian chuckled and took her and in his.
“We’re perfect.” He said. Kate smiled and settled into her seat.
When they got home, Brian walked outside to the patio and leaned against the railing. Kate walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. Brian sighed happily and kissed the top of her head.
“I love you.” Brian whispered. Kate looked up and smiled.
“I love you too.” She said. Brian smiled and hugged her tightly.
“Come on, let’s go for a swim.” He said. Kate giggled and ran off towards the bedroom.
Brian was right behind her. She pulled off her clothes and put her swimsuit on. Brian was already in his trunks and was just watching her.
“You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” He said to her in a very serious voice. Kate smirked and wiggled her hips at him.
“That’s good to know.” She said. Brian smirked and reached out to grab her.
Kate dodged him and ran out of the room and outside. Brian, who was a lot faster than her, caught up fast. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulders.
“Brian! Put me down!” Kate shouted. Brian smiled.
“Sure.” He said as he walked deeper in the water.
“No, Brian wait!” Kate called. Brian laughed and threw her into the ocean water.
Kate came sputtering back up a second later.
“Bastard!” She shouted. Brian laughed and splashed her.
Kate glared and splashed him back. This went on for a while and then as the sun started to set, Kate and Brian sat in the sand and watched the sun sink into the ocean. Kate was sitting with her back against Brian’s chest and she smiled as she felt his heart thumping against her back.
Brian wrapped his arms around Kate and held her close to him.
“I’ve missed this. You just being in my arms.” He said softly. Kate leaned back and kissed the side of his neck.
“So have I. Actually I came out here the other day by myself, but I was crying so it wasn’t as nice.” She said. Brian flinched.
“I’m sorry I’ve been hurting you.” He said. Kate shook her head.
“No, it’s alright. I understand now, just promise me when you leave again that you’ll keep talking to me.” Kate said. Brian turned so that they were facing each other.
He cupped Kate’s face in his hand and kissed her gently.
“I don’t think you’re gonna have to worry about that.” He said with a smile. Kate smiled back then pushed him back into the sand so that he was lying on his back.
She laid on top of him and he rested his arms around her waist.
“Good. Because I think I’d go crazy.” She said. Brian chuckled and kissed her again.
“Did I mention how sexy you look in that bikini?” Brian said with a smirk. Kate laughed and nodded.
“I believe you have before.” She said. Brian laughed and kissed her again and then rolled so that he was now on top of her. He propped himself up on his elbows so he didn’t crush her with his weight.
“You know, I wouldn’t mind just ravishing you right here.” He said in a dark voice. Kate giggled and kissed him.
“As interesting as that would be, I think we should hold that thought.” She said. Brian pouted and started to kiss her neck.
“And why is that?” He asked. His hot breath tickled her neck. Kate bit her lip and closed her eyes.
“Because, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m starving.” She said with a giggle. Brian let out a groan and pushed himself up.
“I’m starving too. But not for food.” He said with a wink. Kate laughed and Brian pulled her up and they walked into the house.
“Go ahead and change and I’ll cook something.” Brian told her. Kate nodded and went into the bedroom.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Brian raised his eyebrow and went to answer it.
“Oh, you’re home. Is Kate here?” It was Chase.

The American Dream: An Alternate, Time-Travel Timeline
Due to a mysterious transcendent being, United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Samuel Kim from the year 2016 is thrown back in time to the year 1775. To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Realizing the unique situation he finds himself in, the lieutenant takes the opportunity to change the fate of the battle and ensure an overwhelming American victory. Guided by his "patronizing" "God" and the American revolutionaries, Lieutenant Kim embarks on a journey to help America gain its independence and to ensure the nation uphold its "most promising" ideals from the very beginning. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.
