《So try and love me while you can [Zacky Vengeance]》Chapter Twenty-two

*Kyle*
My heart was pounding. Zacky was on the phone with Barry and he was pacing. That made me nervous. If I was good news, he wouldn’t have to pace, right? I stood up and started following him.
“What’s he saying?” I whispered.
Zacky held his hand up and shook his head.
“What do you mean? I thought you said this shouldn’t be a problem?” Zacky asked.
My heart sunk. I sat back down on the steps and pulled my legs up to my chin. This is it. I’ve lost Troy forever.
“Alright, let me know the second you find out.” Zacky said with a sigh. He hung up the phone and looked down at me.
“What did he say?” I asked softly.
Zacky sighed and sat down beside me.
“Things aren’t going to be as easy as we hoped.” He said softly.
I closed my eyes and let a few tears fall from my eyes.
“Why not?” I choked out.
Zacky sighed again and put his arm around my shoulders.
“Because Troy doesn’t want to leave.”
My whole world stopped. My eyes snapped opened and I looked at Zacky.
“W-what? What do you mean Troy doesn’t want to leave? He doesn’t even know Alec. And isn’t he too young to make that decision?” I practically shouted.
Zacky started to say something but I wasn’t listening. I jumped up and started pacing angrily.
“Kyle, Barry says you have to be 8 or older to decide on your own which parent you want to live with. Since Troy’s 9, he’s old enough. I guess he told the child protective service people that he wants to live with his dad because his mom is a drunk and his sister was a…” He stopped short of finishing his sentence.

I stopped pacing and looked him dead in the eye.
“What Zacky? What am I?” I asked him.
Zacky rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at an ant that was scurrying across the sidewalk.
“Zacky! Answer me!” I shouted.
He snapped his head up and looked at me.
“He said his sister was a stripper and was living with some guy she met at the strip club.” He said softly.
He might as well have smacked me in the face. I turned my head and just started to cry.
“No, that’s all Alec. Troy would never say something like that about me. He knows I don’t do that anymore and he knows that you saved us. Alec has to be filling his head with bullshit.” I said.
That had to be it. Troy knows how hard I worked to make sure he had a decent life. He knows that I would’ve ever worked in the club if I didn’t have to.
Zacky just walked over to me and took me in his arms. All of a sudden, this overwhelming anger sweep over me. I started screaming and just hitting Zacky in the chest. He didn’t say anything. He just held me tight and let me pound on his chest. When I felt better, I put my arms around his waist and buried my face in his chest.
“Feel better?” He asked softly.
“A little.” I said. I felt him chuckle and he pulled away from me.
“What are we going to do now?” I asked him.
Zacky shrugged.
“Barry seems to think that if that’s where Troy wants to be, to let him stay there. Who knows Kyle he might not be any worse than your mother.” He said.
I rolled my eyes and we went into the house.

“Look, I’d be the first to say my mother is an unfit parent but Alec? I can’t imagine him being much better.” I said.
Zacky just shrugged and got a bottle of Jack from the counter. He took out two shot glasses and filled them to the top.
“Either way, it’s not up to us anymore.” He said.
I took the glass from him and downed my shot.
“I just hope he’s alright.” I said after the burning in my throat went away.
Zacky nodded and poured another shot.
“I know babe, he will be.” He said.
Babe? That’s a new one. I raised my eyebrow at him and drank the shot.
The next thing I can remember was hearing someone softly snoring beside me. My head was killing me and I was in a bed that wasn’t mine. I groaned as I opened my eyes to see where I was. It was Zacky’s room.
“Shit.” I mumbled to myself.
I looked around and saw Zacky sleeping soundly beside me. One of his arms was behind his head and the other was around me. I looked down and realized I was naked. Completely naked.
“Oh shit.” I said again.
On the ground, I saw a trail of clothes starting from the bedroom door. Did I have sex with Zacky last night? The last thing I can remember was doing shots in the kitchen. I slowly lifted up the blanket and saw that Zacky was also naked.
“Ohhh shit.” I hissed as I turned over onto my back and pulled the blanket up over my chest.
Zacky felt my movements and started to stir.
“What, what’s wrong?” He mumbled.
“Zacky, hey wake up.” I said as I shook him gently.
He groaned and opened his eyes slowly and looked at me.
“Zacky, did we have sex last night?” I asked him.
A smirk spread across his face and he put both hands behind his head.
“What don’t you remember?” He asked.
I rolled my eyes and looked at him.
“Obviously not, that’s why I’m asking.” I said.
He chuckled and turned his head and looked at something on the floor. I rolled on top of him and followed his gaze. He was looking at a very used condom.
“Well, at least we used protection.” I said.
Zacky just looked at me and then we both started laughing. Once we calmed down, I sat up and sighed. Zacky cleared his throat and was staring right at my breast. Oops, I forgot I was still naked and I could feel him start to, wake up.
“Well, since you don’t remember it, we could always try again.” He said with a sexy smirk playing on his lips.
Something inside me snapped and I leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips.
“What the hell.” I said before pulling the blankets up over our heads.
