Kate made her way back to the bus. She went to the bunks and pulled her suitcase up onto her bed. She opened it and looked through it for an outfit. She settled on a pair of dark skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt and a black shirt with tears across it. She left her hair curly and threw on some eyeliner then left the bunks. Just as she reached the door, she remembered her pass on the bathroom sink. She ran back and put it around her neck then ran back to the building.

Janet was laying out her makeup when she got back. She turned around and grinned at Kate.

“Well you look cute.” She said. Kate smiled and hopped up on the counter. Not too long after the guys came in.

Matt was wearing a black Harley Davidson t-shirt and dark jeans, Zacky was wearing a plain black t-shirt and jeans, Johnny had on a white shirt with black lettering and black jeans, Jimmy just had on a red and black tie with black shorts, and Brian was wearing a black cut off hoodie with jeans.

The guys all stopped talking when they saw Kate. Matt smiled.

“Wow, you look great.” He said. She blushed and smiled. Janet walked around the chair and cleared her throat.

“Alright boys, it’s time to get ready!” She called. They all turned around and Matt sat down in the chair. Kate picked up her camera and took some shots of him in it.

“Shadows likes just foundation and a bandana.” She said. Matt took a black bandana out of his pocket and tied it around his head like a headband.

“Alright hun, all done.” She said. Matt jumped up and went to the stage.

“Zacky is a little more complex. He likes the white powder on his face with the red around his eyes.” Kate snapped another picture and nodded.

“I know, I painted a picture of him when I was a junior in high school.” She said. Zacky turned to face Kate.

“You did?” He asked. Kate giggled.

“Yeah, like I said I’m a fan.” Zacky smiled and let Janet finish. When he was done, Johnny jumped in.

“Johnny’s pretty simple, he just likes the eyeliner and a little foundation.” Kate took pictures of this too.

“Revvy likes the glam look.” Janet said. Kate nodded and Jimmy sat down.

“He likes his hair straightened and heavy eye makeup.” While Janet was doing all of that to Jimmy, Brian was watching Kate.

She was moving all around, taking pictures of Jimmy in at all different angles. She seemed so much more relaxed compared to yesterday.

“Syn! You’re up.” Janet said, snapping him out of his thoughts. He shook his head and got in the chair.

“See Syn here, is so much easier to work with now that he cut that hair off.” Brian rolled his eyes and Kate laughed.

“It used to take me a good 20 minutes to straighten it all out just so he could put a hat over it, now I just throw some gel in it and he’s good to go. And as for his makeup, he just wears black eyeliner.” Janet said. Once he was finished, Matt came back and walked over to Kate.

“Alright, let me show you where you’ll be during our set.” He said. Kate nodded and followed him onto the stage. There was a big black man standing in the center. He nodded at Matt and smiled at Kate.

“Kate, this is Chuck.” Kate reached out and shook his hand, then he jumped down into the pit and looked at Matt.

“He’s gonna be your bodyguard during the show.” Kate nodded and Matt continued.

“Alright so before we play, you’ll come out here and Chuck will-“ He paused when Chuck reached over and picked Kate up right off of the stage. She yelped.

“-Pick you up and put you down there and then at the end of the show he’ll-“ He paused again and Chuck lifted her back up and Matt caught her hand.

“-And one of us will pull you back up.” He said. Kate nodded and pulled down her shirt.

“Alright, it’s almost show time.” Matt said. They walked backstage and he gathered up the rest of the guys. Kate grabbed her camera and followed him.

The six of them piled into the dressing room. The guys got in a circle and pumped themselves up. Kate walked around the small room and snapped some pictures. When they were done, Matt turned to her.

“Alright, go ahead and get into the pit. The show will start soon.” Kate nodded.

“Good luck guys!” Kate called as she was leaving. They yelled thanks and finished getting ready.

She walked out on stage and looked into the crowd. She was in awe of how many people were out there! She pulled her camera put and took a few photos. Chuck was waiting for her in the pit. She smiled at him and he grabbed onto her legs and pulled her down. She took a few test shots of the stage and the equipment when she heard a girl yelling.

“How come she gets to stand in front of the barrier?!” She yelled. A bunch of the other people in the front row started yelling and shaking the barrier. Chuck stood in front of the girl who started it and stared at her.

“Because she’s the photographer now back up or I’ll take you all outta here!” He shouted. The girl stepped back and they quieted down.

Not too long after that, organ music started playing. Kate recognized it as the beginning to ‘Critical Acclaim’ Matt was sitting down at a small organ on the side of the stage. Kate ran over and got as close as she could for a photo. Then Brian and Zacky started the opening guitar melody and the lights and everything just went wild! Kate was running all around trying to get the best photos she could. She even had the bodyguards lift her up so she could get better angles. When Brian and Zacky started their guitar solo, Kate made sure she was in front of them the whole time. After Critical Acclaim they went right into Afterlife. She made sure to snap a shot of Johnny during his little solo in the beginning. During the chorus, she asked Chuck to lift her up so she could get a shot of the crowd screaming it back to Matt. The next song they played was Scream. Kate stood in front of Zacky while he was singing the verse along with Matt. They played a few more songs and Kate took a break to just enjoy the show. The last song they played was Gunslinger. This was one of Kate’s favorite songs. Zacky was playing an acoustic guitar for this song. While Matt was singing, she could hear the crowd behind her singing along. She asked Chuck to life her up again and took a photo of it. Almost everyone had a lighter or cell phone up. It truly moved her. So many people were tearing up while they sung. Kate even turned around, pulled her lighter out and sang along.

“Thank you guys, you’ve been fucking amazing!” Matt screamed into the mic. And the show was over. Chuck lifted Kate up and Zacky grabbed her hand.

He was beaming at her and everyone, crew included was just jumping around. Everyone was so full of energy. Brian walked up to her and hugged her.

“That was amazing!” She said. He chuckled and released her.

“Alright, why don’t you head to the bus now. Go through the back door though because fans are probably stalking the main one.” Kate nodded and grabbed her camera case and headed in search of the back door.
