《Heartless》70

It felt like forever as we sat there. We eventually concluded nobody was here and we could continue on our exploration. "We should go upstairs and get it over with in case someone does come in here later we won't be trapped upstairs." Sam said and led the way. He handed me the camera and I started to film them going up the stairs. This place constantly made noises, whether it was close or in the distance it freaked me out. I tried to push those thoughts away as we walked around.

I couldn't even add anything to the conversation as I constantly checked my surroundings.

We settled down after 30 minutes of filming and laid down for a bit. "How you holding up kiddo?" Sam said and nudged my shoulder. "I'm okay. This place is creepy as hell." I admitted and tucked my knees to my chest as I leaned on Colby's shoulder. "Yeah, you're brave to come here." Colby said quietly as he rested his head on mine. We were all so tired but it was too sketchy to sleep. We sat quietly upstairs for a couple minutes.

"Alright let's go so we can get back downstairs." Sam said and got up, brushing the back of his pants with his hands. Colby and I got up and they started to film again, I aimlessly was walking behind them, reading all the graffiti.

I wasn't paying close enough attention as I stepped on a weak patch in the floor. My leg instantly went through causing me to scream out. "Cora!" Sam and Colby both yelled and turned to me as I caught myself from falling fully through. Extreme pain shot through my leg as the boys quickly but carefully made their way to me. Sam was filming but he clearly wasn't trying to get a good shot as he held the camera down at his side. Colby crouched down, his eyes full of panic, "are you okay?" I hissed in pain but nodded, "yeah...I think so." He looked down at my body and gently reached under my arm, Sam went to my other side and they slowly started pulling me up, "be careful with her...be careful." Colby said as they pulled me out. My pants were ripped and a deep gash was in the side of my thigh, "fuck." Colby breathed as they both supported my weight. "I'm okay. I think I can walk on it." I said and put my leg down, putting weight on it. It hurt a lot, but it was manageable. "We should go." Colby said and looked at me cautiously.

"No. I'm okay, we can stay here, do you have anything I can wrap it with?" I said and took some pressure off of that leg, it was hurting pretty bad but I didn't want to ruin their video. "I mean we have an extra shirt in the backpack." Sam said and pulled it off his shoulders, "that's perfect." I said and sat on the ground, this time making sure it was stable. "Cora..." Colby said and crouched down in front of me, he caressed my cheek as he spoke, "we can leave, I'm serious. We have enough footage to make the video good. I don't want you to push yourself too hard." I smiled softly at him, "I'm okay. Let's wrap it in the shirt and if it starts to hurt more we can leave okay?" I said and put my hand on his, which was still placed on my cheek. "You scared the shit out of me." He breathed and put his forehead to mine as Sam fished out the tshirt from his bag. "I'm sorry. I should have been paying more attention." I said and leaned my head up to kiss his cheek.

"Here ya go." Sam said and handed me the tshirt. Colby opened his water bottle and poured it over the cut, it was really deep and would probably need stitches honestly, but it could wait until the morning.

Once I wrapped the tshirt around my leg, Colby helped me up. My vision blurred slightly as I steadied myself. "You okay?" Colby said and placed his hands on my hips. "Yeah, just stood up too fast, let's go." I said and started walking to the stairs, now being very careful as to where I put my feet. As we made our way to the stairs we heard screaming coming from downstairs. It wasn't just screaming though, it was blood curdling. I turn to Colby as he pulled me into him, Sam yanked Colby's arm, pulling us both into the corner of the room. He covered Colby's mouth as another voice was screaming, they were directly below us.

In the murder room.

I shook as Colby held me tightly to his chest. This was the most scared I have ever been in my life. We were about to witness something that would change us forever.

We heard loud bangs come from downstairs, it took everything in me to not scream. Colby tightened his grip on me, his heart was beating so fast against his chest. He planted a kiss on my head as we heard sirens in the distance. It was silent downstairs now, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. "We have to go. Now." Sam said as he pulled his bag on his shoulders. Colby let me go and grabbed my hand as we quickly made our way downstairs, "don't look." Colby said and yanked me along, away from the murder room.

We ran and didn't stop until we got to the car, my leg was in so much pain I was shaking uncontrollably. "You guys okay?" Sam said and pulled Colby into a hug. "I....don't want to know what happened in there." Colby's voice shook as he spoke. "Me neither." I whispered as Sam pulled me into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry we brought you here. We were so stupid....." he said as Colby gave me sad eyes. I couldn't even concentrate on anything, except for the harsh burning that was coming from my leg. "It's okay. You didn't know." Was all I could choke out before the sobs of pain hit me. "Cora..." Colby said and wrapped his arms quickly around me. "Let's get back to your house." I choked out. He nodded and opened the door for me, I sat in the back and Sam sat in the front.

They filmed and explained what happened, very vaguely, as we drove to Colby's place. Sam was going to stay there tonight, since he didn't want to be alone.

We pulled into the driveway and all got out, I immediately felt light headed and sick as we burst through the door, "mom?! Dad?!" Colby yelled. It was late, but they came out of their bedroom almost immediately, "what happened?!" Mrs. Brock said as Colby pulled her into a tight hug, "mom...we...we heard something." Colby said and pulled away from her giving his dad a hug. The room started spinning as massive blobs of black riddled my vision.

I could hear Colby talking, but it was muffled, it felt like it was so far away, as a high pitched whistle blew in my ears. "Cora? Are you alright honey?" Came through my ears, it was Mrs. Brocks voice. It echoed in my head a couple times, the room spun more violently.

Then blackness overcame my vision.
