TW: NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, CAR CRASH, HOSPITAL MENTIONING!
The last thing Sapnap remembered was the noise of the car hitting the stone of the cliff to his right. A crashing, glass breaking, airbag going off and the faint noise if the radio playing the latest chart hit.
Then everything went black.
The first thing he remembered when waking up, was the sound of Karl sobbing and Dream telling him everything would be okay.
"What- What happened?", he asked slowly lifting his hand to his head, that was pounding with pain.
Karl gasped, hugged him tightly.
"You crashed the car on the highway back home, you've been in surgery for two hours, but they fixed the internal bleeding and your broken rip and leg.", Dream explained, while Karl sobbed, hand reaching into his hair holding him closer. "I thought you died, no one wanted to tell me anything.", Karl cried, "How did that even happen?"
A few pieces of memories flashed in Sapnaps mind. His heart broken trip over the highway, he drove too fast. He knew.
He lost control over the car and then the curve. The crash.
He hugged Karl back, tightly.
"I was an idiot, that's what happened. I was too fast, drove with heavy emotions. I'm sorry", he said, caught Dreams eyes.
The blonde nodded towards Karl and the brunette nodded ever so slightly.
"Were you sad? Did something happen while you were at my place that upset you? Was it my fault?", Karl asked, looking at him with red, puffy eyes, tears streaming over his face, hands gently running over Sapnaps cheeks. The brunette hesitated. Could he keep something that quite literally almost killed him to himself much longer?
He looked over at Dream, then at the door.
The blonde nodded. "I'll be right back", he said, leaving the room.

"Sapnap, please be honest", Karl said as the door fell shut, voice cracking, "I don't want this to happen again"
Sapnap sighed, gently reached for his cheek and pulled him into a kiss. Karl was shaking in his arms, but quickly kissed him back.
"It was me kissing Foolish, wasn't it?", Karl asked and Sapnap replied with a quiet: "Doesn't matter" "I'm sorry", Karl whispered, kissing him again. "It's not your fault"
"I should've told you that I fucking love you instead of kissing all of our friends to cope with not being able to have you", Karl said, "You wouldn't have left that night, you wouldn't have had the accident, you wouldn't be hurt, if- if I would've just been honest"
He sobbed, pressed kisses to Sapnaps lips, trembling. "I'm sorry", he mumbled between every kiss, until Sapnap cupped his face with both hands looking into his eyes. "It's not your fault, that I can't control my emotions. I'm sorry for scaring you like that", he said, "You're not at fault for anything."
"But it feels like I am", Karl replied, "Everything could've been okay if I wasn't such a fucking homie hopper, if I would've noticed how upset you were"
"Karl", Sapnap got his attention back, "You couldn't have known, you aren't at fault, I promise" "I shouldn't have let you go", Karl sobbed. Gently Sapnap wiped away the others tears, before he kissed him softly.
"How about you just don't let me go now?", he asked, "Just keep me with you now"
"I'd be a fucking idiot if I'd let you go now", Karl replied, "Nick, I love you"
"I love you too", Sapnap replied, pulling him into a hug, hand on the back of Karls head, "I love you a whole fucking lot"

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

Being a book is not a great experience. Can I see? No, I don't have eyes. Can I touch anything? No, I don't have limbs. With any luck, someone will pick me up and read me, at least. Hopefully sooner than later...
