"You can't tell me we're stuck here.", George said, after the car had died on them in the middle of the woods.
Their camping trip was pretty much ruined.
"Yeah, I guess so.", Dream said, closing the hood and falling back into the drivers seat.
"I thought it just got checked", George replied, groaning, "Trip, ruined."
"I mean we can still do our camping thing, we'll just have to walk to the campsite.", Dream replied, trying to be the rational, positive voice, "Or we can just stay here and I dunno... Talk?"
"Talk? After the car broke down, that you were supposed to get checked before this trip into the middle of nowhere?", George asked, suddenly angry. This was Dreams fault. Yeah! Yeah, it was all Dreams fault!
He had all right to be angry!
"George, this isn't the end of the world, I'll just call the people that deal with stuff like this and we'll be ready to go again.", Dream said, gently placing a hand on Georges shoulder as if that would help him cool down. Harshly George pushed it off, turned to the window and crossed his arms.
"Really? You're acting like that, now?"
George didn't reply and Dream sighed, clearly getting frustrated.
"You know what, I'll call the support now and in that time you can decide if you wanna be a baby or an adult."
With those words Dream took his phone and got out of the car, slamming the door shut.
He dialed the number of his support company and soon got greeted by a quickly repeating beeping noise. He looked at his phone and he would've instantly loved to throw it against a tree.
He had no signal. Of course he had no signal. Why would he?

He leaned his head back, groaned in frustration. Now he was sitting in the middle of nowhere, with a car that broke down, a phone with no signal and his best friend that decided to be a bitch.
Wonderful. Awesome.
He opened the car door again, sat down silently. George gave him a glance over his shoulder, waited, but didn't get a reply.
"What did they say?" "Oh, now you talk to me?", Dream hissed, before taking a deep breath, collecting himself, "Sorry. Just really frustrated. I don't have a signal."
"So we're stuck-stuck?", George asked, looking over at Dream who focused on the dust particles in the air that were just about visible in the light of the setting sun.
He nodded. "At least till tomorrow. We can't walk around in the dark."
George sighed and Dream looked over at him. "I'm sorry.", he said, "I really wanted us to have a nice weekend trip. Please, don't be mad." George turned to face him, saw Dream sit there with tears in his eyes.
"Hey, it's okay. Don't worry", George quickly said and Dream swallowed. "I just wanted this to go well, just a nice weekend with my favourite person.", Dream leaned his head back against the seat, laughed sarcastically, "But not even that works out, huh?"
"I'm your favourite person?", George asked with a smile tugging on his lips.
Dream turned his head, to look at him and gave him a tired smile. "Of course you are."
For a second they looked at each other in silence, before Dream asked: "Does that make you happy?"
George looked down at his hands, huffed. "No", he said, trying not to smile the way he did.
Dream chuckled. "Oh, so I should pick someone else to be my favourite person?"

"No, I like to have myself an admirer.", George said and Dream smiled.
"Well, I definitely do admire you, so might as well call it that", he said and George giggled.
"Oh yeah? What even is to be admired about me?"
"That's actually a question?"
"Yeah, yeah it is.", George replied and Dream shook his head.
"Well, you're really funny and I think your accent is adorable. You always try to help, even when you have problems of your own.", Dream said, "And you're beautiful. Insanely beautiful."
George looked into Dreams eyes, couldn't find a single hint that might have indicated him lying. "I'm beautiful to you?"
"Yes", Dream whispered, leaning forward to place a hand on Georges cheek, "You look like a renaissance painting and if I could I'd never stop looking at you."
"You sound like you're in love", George whispered, leaning in himself just a little more. Dream looked him up and down, debating with himself whether or not he could put their friendship on the line, before he replied: "Maybe I am"
George held his breath, one hand coming up to Dreams chest, slowly running up to his shoulder. His eyes fluttered close and with a shaking voice, he whispered: "If you don't kiss me now, I'll hate you forever."
He trembled with anticipation, until he finally felt Dreams lips touching his.
Once, twice and then the blonde pulled away.
George didn't open his eyes, just held Dreams face in his hands, kept him so close the tips of their noses touched.
And then he licked over Dreams lips with the tip of his tongue, pressed another kiss to them.
He felt Dreams tongue hot and wet against his own, melted at the way the blonde pulled him closer around his waist.
He tasted like cookie dough and sunshine.
Like cold coca cola on a summer afternoon.
Like love confessions in the middle of nowhere.

Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.

But that won't be easy when a cruel and abnormally tall skeleton dressed in mockery of Santa Claus and his suit hates Ty's guts. San wants nothing more than to best Ty and do what none of his kind has ever done before: defeat a child that has made "the choice." But Ty will stop at nothing to fight back against everything San's got in order to face his fears and grow up. Because, if he doesn't, he will end up a kid forever. Or, worse...never wake up again. This story is perfect for you if you are a fan of Coraline and Kingdom Hearts, both of those stories greatly inspired this one. I have recently added the Isekai tag after being unsure if it counts or not. I've decided it fits the description of what it is but not the current trends in the genre. If you go in with Coraline in mind I think you will have a better idea of the kind of Isekai this is. And I've also added the Slice of Life tag, that is only for the first five or six chapters though, then Ty enters the dream world and it pretty quickly becoms a progression fantasy, a mix of more traditional fairy tale like trappings alongside more anime action and acquisition of slowly increasing powers. With all that out of the way, please enjoy! Updates every Tuesday and Thursday! What time of day? It's a mystery! (For now)
