"Levi Heichou~~" Y/N sang as she burst inside Levi's office letting herself in. Levi didn't look bothered as he continued to fill out more paperwork.
Today is everyone's day off. Except for the Lance Corporal Levi Ackerman. Y/N felt a bit bad for the Lance Corporal so she decided to come by his office.
"What are you doing here?" Levi asked with no hint of any interest as he kept his focus on the paperwork that was stacked in front of him.
Y/N's eyes squinted when she saw Levi's dark bags under his eyes. It was clear that Levi didn't sleep last night. The girl knew that she's doing the right thing as she chuckled making the Lance Corporal give her his attention.
"Doing paperwork every day is so bland and dull like your face," Y/N said as she looked at the Lance Corporal's overworked and fatigued face. "So let's go out shopping."
"No." Levi strictly answered getting his attention back to the paperwork making the girl in front of his desk sigh at his antics.
"I have no choices left except for this," Y/N whispered. She was ready to empty her wallet when this day is over.
"We're going to buy tea and cleaning stuff on the way." The girl said as Levi had already stood up. Y/N rolled her eyes as she tossed a blazer to the Lance Corporal.
"You truly know how to bargain my time, Yeager." Levi joked while he fixed himself to go outside.
"Tch, as if I have no choice left," Y/N replied as she rolled her eyes. Though she liked the fact that she got the Lance Corporal off his desk full hell stack of paperwork.

The two shorties were now in the town. Y/N wanted Eren, Mikasa and Armin to join in but the Lance Corporal had dragged her away before she could get their answers.
"Why'd you drag me? I just asked the trio if they want to come?" Y/N asked as the Lance Corporal went quiet.
Y/N didn't know that the Lance Corporal wanted Y/N to be the only one around him. Too bad Y/N didn't know that.
"Heichou??" Y/N asked once again as Heichou ignored her. The girl heard giggles around them while they're walking through the city.

Y/N looked at the source of the giggles and saw fangirls just meters away from them. With the gift of terrific hearing, she was eavesdropping on their conversation.
"Look it's Levi Ackerman..." A girl said as she giggled.
"Who's that girl beside him?"
"She's probably just a regular scout. Levi will never go with an ugly girl like her." All three of the fangirls snicker. Y/N had heard all of it as she gritted her teeth. She wanted to lash out her demonic anger to those girls.
When Y/N had taken a step towards the fangirls Levi stopped her by holding her arm tightly. Y/N looked at him as Levi shook his head as a no. Instead, he placed his arm around Y/N as they continue to walk around.
"W-what?" Y/N stuttered from Levi's gesture as he continued to ignore her.
"Please be quiet, love," Levi spoke as Y/N eyes' widened forming a huge red blush on her cheeks. She felt sheepish as she didn't reply because of Levi Ackerman.
The fangirls were the ones who know grit their teeth. They didn't like their Levi Ackerman to be so close to another girl. As Levi and Y/N continue to pass people through the city, a lot were questioning if they were eventually dating.
Levi continued placing an arm around Y/N's shoulder until they stopped at the tea shop as promised. The Lance Corporal took his arm away from Y/N's shoulder. The girl felt a bit disappointed.
"Let's go," Levi said as he took the girl's hand dragging the girl inside the tea shop.
When they had entered the shop the aroma of warm and sweet scent hit them. Y/N saw that the tea shop also sells vases, teacups and teapots.
Y/N looked for Levi as she saw that Levi was talking to the store clerk. The girl looked around the store as a certain thing caught her eye.
It was a porcelain table vase. It was black with branches of red cherry blossoms as its pattern. Y/N loved the intricate details of the cherry blossoms and how smooth the surface of the vase was.
Levi had noticed the girl was looking at a vase. In his eyes, it looks like Y/N wanted it.

"Ah, Levi. I wanted to ask you something" the store clerk said.
"What is it?" Levi asked.
"Is that girl you're girlfriend. I saw you putting an arm around her shoulder. I have never seen you that close with a girl" The Store Clerk asked. Levi looked glanced at the girl who admired the vase.
Levi wouldn't lie if he said the girl was pretty much unique and lovable. But the question he would ask to himself is... Does she like the girl? In addition, he knew that he felt something warm and hearty for the girl. So... Probably he does like Y/N.
"Yeah," Levi answered still looking at Y/N while the store clerk was surprised that their humanities strongest is possible falling for someone.
Levi departed from the Store Clerk and went to Y/N who was still admiring the vase.
"You like it?" Levi asked as Y/N jumped in surprised.
"O-oh... Umm... No. It's nothing" Y/N stuttered as she diverted her gaze somewhere else than the vase she had adored.
"If it's nothing then let's go," Levi spoke as Y/N nodded in agreement. The girl looked sad that she didn't get the vase but decided to just let it go.
The sun is almost going to set as the two arrived at a pastry shop since Y/N was getting hungry. The two shorties ate pastries after an afternoon full of shopping.
"Hey, Levi. Thanks for coming with me even though I bribed you to come." Y/N thanked Levi genuinely as she ate more of her bread. The Lance Corporal hummed in reply.
"I'm going to buy something in a shop. Don't worry I'll be back as fast as night can come." Levi stood up from his seat and pat the girl's head lightly as he left to buy.
"What is he even buying?" Y/N asked herself as she shrugged and decided to wait.

The sun was now setting as it welcomed the moon out. At the same time, Levi had come back with a bag on his arm. Y/N stood up as the two walked back to HQ.
"What did you buy?" Y/N asked curiously.
"Clothes that I forgot to buy before we came in the pastry shop," Levi answered as Y/N nodded.
__________________________
The two reached back to Levi's office pumped out from the walking and shopping. Levi placed the bags full of the things they had shopped a while ago on his desk.
Levi looked at the sleeping girl on his sofa. Y/N was asleep peacefully as the Lance Corporal went up to her crouching down.
Levi thought that underneath Y/N's difficult, dangerous and demented aura was a soft, reasonable and genuine aspect. The Lance Corporal thanked the fact that he had accepted Y/N to his squad. If not he wouldn't feel this feeling of warmth inside of him.
This kind of warmth was a bit different from his mother's love. It felt like he wanted her so much. It's like he can do anything for her.
"Happy Birthday Y/N Yeager." Out of the years, Lance Corporal Levi Ackerman was smiling genuinely as he then gave a kiss on Y/N's forehead.
__________________________
I woke up from the bright light of the sun that was beaming through the window. I look around me and saw that I was in my room on my bed.
'So... Levi carried me here once again I thought smiling dumbly out of the fact the Lance Corporal is a softie in the I did.
My vision reached at my small cabinet beside the window. My eyes widened at the thing that was placed right on top of the small cabinet.
Hurriedly, I got up from my bed and dashed to the small cabinet.
It was the black vase that had red cherry blossoms imprinted on it. A smile formed on my face as I saw lilies were placed inside the vase.
I look down and saw a small letter with it.
"Happy Birthday Y/N. Even though you reminded us all to not celebrate your birthday not give you gifts. I still did it for you, idiot." I read the letter that came with it. Of course, I knew who bought me this.
'Levi Ackerman. Who could've thought? That shortie never fails to make me fall for him' I thought.

participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge and also having a go at NaNoWriMo this November. This was a first draft published as it was written for Nanowrimo November 2020. A little rough around the edges, I hope to come back and edit at some point, and then continue the story on. In the grand scheme of things Elias was nothing special. Which was why he was surprised by a random company on a new colony planet buying out his contract. That was the problem with the large companies that ruled the colonies, once they owned your contract, they owned you. Imagine the greater surprise when he learnt that the new company held the promise of freedom. Not from the constant battle against the Swarm that were also trying to claim the colony planets for their own. Nor from the Crust, the mysterious substance that covered the same planets and held the resources they all fought for. No, the freedom from being oppressed by those with more power and to finally decide where to go and where to set down roots and call home.
