"There isn't much to begin with," Mikasa said as she helped Eren pick up the wood.

From what happened early. It kinda made me want to join the survey corps. It's because I can protect Eren and Mikasa. Even mom and Dad as I experience how it feels to be free out of the walls.

We went up to the familiar stones as we reached our home.

"Oh, family. We're back!" I shouted/sang as I burst into the house.

"Y/N. Please stop doing that" Mom said as she was cooking and Dad was sitting "Welcome home"

We went inside as Eren and Mikasa placed all of the wood including mine in a box as I sat across dad.

"My, Eren. I seen you've worked hard than usual" mom said as I gave mom a 'that brat is lying' as dad chuckled.

"Y-yeah" Eren replied as Mom pinched his ear. "What "

"It's warm. I can tell your lying" Mom said "Mikasa and Y/N helped you, didn't they?"

"Oh. Dad, are you leaving?" I asked as I ate a slice of bread.

"Work?" Eren also asked.

"Yes. Medical exams within the inner walls. It should take around two to three days" Dad replied.

"Oh"

"Eren says he wants to join the survey corps," Mikasa said as Mom looked at Mikasa in surprise as I nod in agreement.

"M-Mikasa. I told you it's a secret" Eren exclaimed.

"Oi Eren. Don't blame Mikasa. She just wants to keep you safe." I intervened.

"Eren! What are you thinking?!" Mom said as she went to Eren's side. "Do you know how many people died outside the walls?!"

"I do!" Eren replied.

"Then why?!-"

"Eren" Dad's low voice spoke, "Why do you wish to venture outside the walls?"

Dad's question took me back as I remembered that he also asked me that same question back then. At the age of 15.

My answer was that I wanted to explore what really lies outside, if there are other people and if there are more secrets to be revealed.

" I want to know. What becomes of the outside world" Eren said. "I don't want to simply live my life within the walls like this! Besides if... Nobody follows their own steps. The sacrifice of those who lost their lives would be in vain"

I really want to stand up and clap proudly for my brother but I decided not to ruin this.

"I see" Dad replied "The ferry will depart soon. I'll be off now"

Dad stood up and went for the door.

"Dad," me and Eren said.

"Say something to Eren" Mom pleaded but Dad opened the door.

"Carla. A human's spirit of inquiry isn't something that can be talked down" Dad replied.

"No shit sherlock" I replied as the determination was plastered on my face.

"Y/N!" Mom scolded.

"Eren. Y/N. When I return, I'll show you the basement that I've always kept a secret" Dad said as he held out a key.

"Really?" We both said in excitement and shock.

"I'm still against it," Mom said.

"How about me-?" I asked but mom said a straight no.

"Only fools would consider joining the survey corps," Mom said

"Thats kind of offensive to your own children mom" I jokingly said as Mom glared at me.

"What? Fools?!" Eren exclaimed. "To me, people who live like cattle seem way more stupid!"

And then, Eren ran away.

"Eren!" Mom shouted.

"Y/N. Mikasa. That boy has a habit of getting into trouble, when something happens be there for each other" Mom said as she gripped my shoulder.

"Don't worry Mom. Even if you won't tell us that in a lifetime, Me, Mikasa and Eren would be with each other" I smiled and gave her a reassuring look. Me and Mikasa we're now chasing at Eren.

Three brats were bullying my little Armin.

And.. And now they're itching for a fight.

"Hohoho. I am itching for a fight with some idiotic rats" I threatened and gave them the most psychotic smile.

"Mikasa and... Y-Y/N?!" One of the rats said as they ran "We're screwed! Run!"

We stopped at Armin.

"Hey! They took off after they saw me!" Eren said brightly.

"No. They probably ran because of Mikasa. Especially Y/N" Armin said as my face began to soften because of Armin's existence.

"O-ow," Armin said as he tried to stand up.

"Are you okay Armin?" I asked softly as Eren extended a hand.

Armin looked down as I saw a glimpse of his eyes getting teary.

"I can stand up on my own," He said as he stood up...

"So, when I said mankind would eventually need to go outside, they hit me, saying I was hectic" Armin explained.

Be ready you three rats. I'm planning your meeting with death itself.

"Damn it" Eren said frustrated as he threw a rock on the small river "Why does simply going outside turn everyone against us?"

"Well it's because it's been peaceful within the walls for a 100 years," Armin said beside me "To prevent inviting them in through a reckless attempt to go outside. The king's government created a policy that made holding interest in the outside world taboo."

"We're risking our lives. It's our choice to make" Eren spoke.

"I won't let you" As I was supposed to speak Mikasa interrupted. "You can't"

"Oh yeah. I can't believe you ratted me out" Eren replied.

"Tch. I was supposed to tell dad after we ate" I spoke.

"I Don't remember saying we'd help" Mikasa spoke.

"W-what'd they say?" Armin asked

"Well they weren't happy about it," I said.

"I figured." Armin sighed. "True. I think those who believe the walls will provide a life of peace need to face reality. It's because the wall has done its job for the past 100 years"

"Maybe. Maybe one day. These walls will be broken. So we can finally greet the complete sky and scenery" I said. "It doesn't guarantee that it would be destroyed today... Not even the slightest"

It. It was only peace and the air dancing.

A peaceful scenery.

Until thunder was disrupted outside.

Causing a large shake and letting us fall everywhere.

"What the?" Armin questioned. "An explosion?"

What in the walls is happening.

"It came from there!"

"Seems like something fell"

"I have no idea"

The town's folk said as they went to see.

"Hey, Armin!" Eren shouted as Armin ran.

I stopped as I saw a giant skinless hand as smoke was behind it.

"W-what?" I shuddered.

A skinless titan's head appeared with smoke.

T-this wall is fifty meters tall.

H-how?

My hands were severely shaking.

The titan kicked the wall sending out rocks from all angles. I took the three kid's wrists and covered them from any rocks.

It all stopped as I stood up, looking at what the huge titan created to the wall.

"T-they blew a hole in the wall"

Titans in all sizes began to come in

I saw Eren going forward as I and Mikasa chase Eren leaving Armin alone.

I'm sorry Armin.

We ran to the street bumping into people as my eyes diverted to people who were crushed by the rocks

Mom. I do hope you don't have to end like that.

We took a sharp turn and saw our house.

Out of all the houses. Ours was cm

Destroyed by a boulder.

"Mom! Mom!" I and Eren screamed

We saw mom's legs were crushed underneath the remains of the house.

"Eren. Y/N" Mom spoke weakly.

"Mikasa lift the side" Eren said as we struggled to lift the heavy remains.

We tried to lift it but was distracted by the titans who were just meters away from us.

There It was.

A titan who was smiling coming right to us.

"Hurry!" I shouted as we tried to lift the heavy remains.

"The titans have come inside. Haven't they?" Mom asked. "Y/N, take Mikasa and Eren and run away!"

There is no way I'm leaving you, mom.

We all tried to lift it but with no gain

My hands were bleeding at the point but I didn't care at all. My thin and weak arms couldn't do anything. I was weak.

"My legs are crushed by the rubble. Even if I got out, I wouldn't be able to run. You understand right?"

"I know ok?! But we're getting you out of here!" I shouted as tears were forming.

"At least listen to my final request!" Mom shouted back as Mikasa was getting teary "Y/N! Mikasa!"

The smiling titan was getting close.

"No. No!" Mikasa replied as I started punching the wood. Having hope that it would break.

"At this rate, the four of us will-" Mom was interrupted by Mr Hannes coming to us. "Hannes! Take the children and run!"

"I can't have you thinking I'm that small a man, Carla" Hannes replied "I'll butcher the titan and save all four of you."

Mr Hannes began to come up to the smiling titan as Mom told him to not fight.

He had reached to the titan but stopped and went back to us as he carried up Eren, signalling me to do the same to Mikasa.

I give one lost sad and weak look to my mom and carried Mikasa as I and Hannes ran away leaving mom.

I-im so sorry mom. But I promise to dedicate my heart to protect Eren and Mikasa with my whole life.

Tears flowed more as Eren was struggling on Hannes as Mikasa was hugging me weakly.

"Eren, Y/N, Mikasa. You three need to live on!" Mom shouted. I look back at mom as I cried out to her.

"Mom. Live a peaceful life on the other side"

I know that at a time and place like this one will die.
