《Poems》A Girl's Voice 2

The way they look at us

makes us feel naked

Wherever we wear

we are ogled and gaped

Rapists aren't the ones who just rape

I see a rapist in the

person who exists everywhere

who stands at a distance

and rapes you with his stare.

I hate how girls are

body shamed and mortified

Oh, Just let me tell you boy,

our body ain't meant to be objectified!

Looking at how females are brutalized

in my mind a zillion questions arise

I want the answer to all my 'whys'

Let's see if you surmise?

Why can't we leave

our homes at night?

Why do we never

feel safe outside?

What we wear is

wrong or right

for us why should

someone decide?!

Why are our moral rights denied?

In temples where goddesses are defied

why a girl on menses

isn't allowed inside?

Why is a mother

declared an infanticide

when she's FORCED

to kill her own girl child?

When will this society

ever understand

that men and women

all Equal we stand?

We can pay our bills,

we need no man

All these social crisis

we could withstand

When will rape finally end?

When will our society start to amend?

When will country's development

finally be said to ascend?

I don't know when

this 'when' would happen

this inturn results

into my abomination.
