《Ballerina Boy》18

Harry hasn't talked to me in a while.

I think it's about two weeks to be exact.

I don't understand why he had such a freak out?

I mean I was only trying to see if he liked me.

He knows I wouldn't tell anybody if he actually did have feelings for me.

"Louis honey? Why are you staring down that wall?" my mom asked as she walked into the kitchen and I guess saw me looking at the wall as I sat at the kitchen island.

"I'm thinking." I answered shortly.

"About what? You have seemed a little gloomy lately."

"I think this straight guy likes me."

"You think a straight guy likes you?" my mom asked confused. "He wouldn't be straight then."

"Well he's probably in the closet mom."

"Well true." she nodded. "But why do you think this?"

"He kissed me when he was drunk."

"Well he was drunk Louis." mom said to me.

"But when I asked him about it last week he got all upset and then started saying it's not okay to be gay and he didn't want to die."

"What?" mom asked shocked.

"I know." I nodded. "I don't understand what that means."

"Maybe he thinks that he's going to hell?" mom asked. "I mean a lot of in the closet people have that fear."

"Yeah but that doesn't mean that they think they are going to die if they come out."

"Maybe it's his parents?" mom said shrugging. "Maybe he lives in a religious household?"

"I dunno." I shrugged.

Mom and I stayed silent for a moment.

"I wish he'd just talk to me about it." I then said.

"Well Louis you can't force someone out of the closet. Sometimes in that stressful state that they are in, it causes them to lash out and it sometimes makes them stay in the closet and say they are straight."

"Well I want him to be comfortable with himself."

"And in time it will happen. It just won't happen right now." mom shrugged. "But I was on my way to the store. Want to come?" she then asked as she grabbed her keys off the counter.

"No. I'll stay here." I said shaking my head.

"Well alright." mom nodded and then walked to the exit of the kitchen. "Love you Louis."

"Love you too mom." I smiled and then she was gone.

I sat there at the kitchen island for another moment but then got up and made my way to Lottie's room.

I knocked and then heard her call out, "Come in."

I then walked in and closed the door behind me.

"Louis?" she asked surprised.

"Hey." I smiled softly and then sat down on her bed with her.

"What's up twin twin?" she then asked me once I cuddled into her.

"I've just been a little blue this week."

"Yeah I know."

"You know too?" I then asked.

"Everyone can tell Lou." she said like it was obvious.

"Really?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah." she nodded. "So what's wrong?"

"Okay I'm trusting you not to tell anyone okay? Like no one."

"I won't." Lottie said.

"Twin's honor?" I then asked holding out my pinkie finger.

"Twin's honor." she nodded and then wrapped her pinkie around mine.

I smiled and then we unwrapped our pinkies from each other.

"So tell me scrub. What's up?"

"I like Harry Styles." I then spit out quickly.

"What!" Lottie shouted.

"Shh Lottie." I snapped. "I don't want anyone to hear us."

"Sorry." she apologized. "But you like him? Louis he's straight. Why the hell do you want him?"

"I think he likes me back."

"You think he's in the closet?"

"He kissed me at Justin's party."

"No fucking way?"

"He was drunk and coked out though."

"He did cocaine?" she asked in a whisper.

"Yeah." I nodded. "I learned from Ashton that he's a druggie. Has been ever since his best friend died in the military."

"Oh wow." Lottie side with wide eyes. "But has he kissed you or talked about it since?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "That's why I'm so blue."

"What happened?"

"Well Harry had a freak out and said being gay is bad. Then he said he didn't wanna die. He hasn't talked to me since then."

"How long ago was that?"

"Two weeks ago."

"Well Louis I don't know what to tell you." Lottie said resting her head on my shoulder. "Just give him some more time. I'm sure he'll come around sooner or later."

"You think so Lots?" I asked looking to her.

"I think so Lou." she said looking up at me.

"Well even though I like him, I would rather be friends with him then nothing."

"Well you told me not to long ago that he hates you and has for a while."

"Maybe he acts like a kindergarten kid when he likes someone."

"What do you mean?"

"Like he acts all mean and tough to you but he actually just doesn't know how to talk to you because he likes you."

"Oh." she nodded. "I understand."

"Yeah but if he actually doesn't like me then I at least want to be friends with him. I like him to much to act like I hate him."

"Well tell him that then Louis."

"But what if he punches me?"

Lottie laughed at that.

"What?" I asked.

"He's not going to punch you. Stop acting like a baby."

"Well what do you suppose I do?" I then asked.

"Ask him to lunch tomorrow at school."

"Where are we suppose to sit?"

"The bleachers at the gym."

"But some people go in there to practice."

"Then go under them."

"Oh like every teen romance?" I asked with a crooked smile.

"Yeah." she laughed. "It always has worked out for them."

"Alright." I then nodded. "I'll ask him to lunch tomorrow in class."

"Good for you then." Lottie smiled and then cuddled in closer to me.

"Wanna watch Peter Pan?" I then asked.

"You're not sick though?"

"Yeah but I'm in the mood."

"Alright." she laughed.

She then got up and put the movie into her T.V. so we could watch it. She then hit play and snuggled back up to me.

We both then watched the movie peacefully and I didn't think of the Harry problem once.
