"Can I ask a few quick questions?" Amy asked. Rosa nodded.

"Do you have a cold why is your voice so high pitched?

Since when did you live a cute little cottage and not an apartment in the centre of Brooklyn?

What the hell are you wearing? It's adorable but what?!

Why did I never know you needed glasses?

And not a question but you should wear you hair up more its cute," Amy burlted out. Rosa laughed. This was one way to take her mind off just being completely heartbroken again.

"Ok firstly,

I do not have a cold this is just my voice.

I've lived here for 8 years I just didn't tell anyone.

I'm wearing my clothes from my own wardrobe.

I don't wear my glasses at work just like you don't.

And thank you," Rosa responded watching Amy's jaw drop.

"But I- wait what?!" Amy literally didn't know what to say.

"I hide behind this scary persona of a baddass who hates everyone because I'm scared of rejection. When in actual fact I'm a big softie who is a professional dancer half the time," Rosa sighed.

"Rosa you don't need to hide. I'm really taken aback and very shocked but I would never not accept you for you if this is who you are. So you have spent years of making people scared of you so you wouldn't get hurt?" Amy asked. Rosa nodded and her bottom lip wobbled. "Hey it's okay," Amy grabbed her hand.

"My parents were really shitty growing up and I ended up being the kind of person they wanted me to be so I put on an act of being this tough guy, motorcycle rider just to piss them off but I started using it as a coping mechanism and when I joined the nine nine I made the decision that that's how I would be in public from then on. I live a double life and it can get very tiring sometimes," a tear ran down her cheek.

"I bet it can, I couldn't do it! I honestly wish you had just been yourself from the start though, I like this side of you," Rosa blushed. "Does anyone else from work know?"

"Gina," Rosa fidgeted. "I was planning on doing the dare as fake Rosa as I like to call her," Amy laughed. "But remember that day Gina was bragging about going to a ballet show?"

"Mhm."

"That was my show. I pulled her aside about a month later to tell her I knew she was their. She came back to mine that night and that's where it all started. It turns out it was easier doing it as myself."

"And I think that would go for most things Ro. Living your life as yourself and not just this fake personality."

"Everyone will hate me!"

"Why would anyone hate you?!"

"Because I lied to them!"

"Who exactly will be angry Rosa?"

Rosa thought for a minute. "I don't know."

"Exactly. Look come on you need to see that nobody gives a shit about who you are. It doesn't matter they will love you no matter what, a family doesn't hate you because of the way you live your life," Amy pulled out her phone. "What's your Instagram?"

"What?"

"Your Instagram, I want to follow you."

"Oh right sorry 'diazjewels' I also use it for my jewellery," Rosa smiled a little.

"Ok done, woahhh!" Amy's widened at her phone.

"What?" Rosa looked over.

"Look at you, woahhhhh. Who knew Diaz could look like that?!" Any looked up wide eyed. Rosa just laughed.

"The sun was REALLY hurting my eyes and Liv was just laughing at me. It took about 20 minutes to get a picture which looked half decent!" Rosa whined.

"I legit didn't even know you could smile like that! Omg and this one!" Amy stopped scrolling and held the phone to Rosa's face. "You look so hot, look at them legs!"

"Hi yes Jake your girlfriend is leaving you for me goodbye!" Rosa mimicked being on the phone laughing.

"Hahah stop!" Amy burst out laughing.

"This is nice. After earlier I didn't think I'd laugh again for awhile," Rosa said. "I'm glad you finally know the truth Ames."

"Thank you for trusting me," Amy smiled. "I have an idea though," Amy grinned again but more devilish.

"Oh no. What's going on in your over smart brain?!" Rosa asked worried. Amy looked down at her phone without saying anything for a minute and then looked back up.

"I should post this on my story and then the squad will find your account," Amy held the phone back up to reveal the screen on Instagram where you edit a story. Rosa's post was there and the words "that's my girl!" Had been typed out.

"Oh I don't know..." Rosa trailed off.

"Come on Rosa! It's a great idea admit it!"

"It's not a bad one. But I'm scareddddd!"

"There is no need to be remember! Imagine how much Charles is going to love your feed. You know he will," Amy made a good point.

"Aghhh ok fine do it it quick before I change my mind!" Amy clicked post. "NO I CHANGED MY MIND!!"

"I've done it now!"

"Delete ittttt!" Rosa went to grab the phone but Amy held it away. "Amy give it!"

"No," she smirked waving around so Rosa couldn't get it. Rosa jumped out to the side and fell on the floor. The two women burst out laughing. As Rosa rolled around her top lifted up slightly revealing a mark on her rib cage.

"Damn girl!"

"What?" Rosa asked before looking down. "SHIT! Nonononoooo" Amy laughed at Rosa's panic. "The little shit leaving a hickey!" Rosa rubbed the mark.

"It's not pen it's not gonna come off if you rub it you know," Amy laughed harder.

"I'm not stupid Amy I know that," Rosa kept rubbing.

"Then what are you trying to do?" Amy was practically crying with laughter.

"Stop laughing!" Rosa wailed throwing herself back onto the sofa.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry," Amy said trying to pull herself together. Rosa's phone buzzed, she picked it up.

"AGHHHHHH!"

"What?!"

" 'hiimjakesbestfriend started following you' Amy it's happening agh what do I do!?" Rosa said throwing her phone down and waving her hands around like a dying duck.

"I still can't believe this. I'm sat in a beautiful cottage in the middle of nowhere sat trying to persuade Rosa Diaz nobody is going to hate her because she's secretly a unicorn?!" Amy laughed.

"Omg I would love to be a unicorn!" Rosa gasped.

"This just keeps getting better!!" Amy smirked.

"Oh em gee he commented on one. help agh what do I do?" Rosa squealed.

"Maybe read it?" Amy rolled her eyes playfully.

"Oh ye good idea," Rosa said unlocking her phone and going into the app. "Oh it's my most recent."

"What did he say?" Amy asked excitedly.

" hahha he said 'OMG THATS NOT YOU?! ROSA DIAZ SMILING AND WEARING COLOUR?! AM I DREAMINGGGGGG?!!?' God I'm surprised he hasn't called me yet," Rosa laughed.

"He never said he hated you," Amy lightly punched her arm.

"Yeh I guess," Rosa said, sighing. She licked her phone and lay back on the sofa. "Thank you for coming over Ames. You have really helped today."

"Well I really enjoyed getting to know you Diaz. You are special and I'm proud of you for opening up. One last question if you don't mind?"

"Mhm."

"Are you lesbian or?.."

"Bisexual," Rosa giggled. "That's one thing I find funny. People expect me to be a lesbian because of the way I act in public but then when people actually meet me they think I'm straight. Always makes me laugh!" Rosa pulled her ponytail a little tighter.

"Well I definitely learned a lot today! I'm proud of you Rosa. You are extremely brave. Call me if you need anything," Amy stood and grabbed her phone. "I'm going to go home because I left Jake with Mac and he was already in a bad mood so I can't see that being a good decision on my behalf," Both of them laughed and walked over to the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow Ames," Rosa unlocked the front door.

"You will?" Amy turned around in confusion.

"Yes I'm coming to the 9 9 to close a case me and Charles like 2 years ago and we finally have arrested the perp. Just need to close it with Charles so I'll be round for an hour or two."

"Well that will be lovely. It's just never been the same without you, we all miss you so much!!" Amy tilted her head.

"I knowwww. I miss you guys too. My new squad just doesn't feel like family. No matter how much I've told you guys I like it there, I don't," Rosa sighed.

"Why don't you come back Ro?" Amy stuck her bottom lip out.

"I thought it would be hard before coming back but now that I've gone and done that stupid thing, I cant bare the thought of it. Sitting 10 ft from her all day, I just can't do it I'm sorry," Rosa looked at her feet.

"Look," Rosa looked up. "Don't be sorry. If it's easier for you to be a different precinct, so be it. Doesn't mean you aren't part of the squad. We are and always will be your family Rosa. Never forget that," Amy rubbed her arm.

"Thank you," Rosa wiped a tear away with her sleeve. "Goodnight Amy."

"Night RoRo."
