The headlights of Rosa's car where still visible to Gina's view. Rosa was completely oblivious that Gina was following her home, or so Gina thought.

-

Rosa: leave me alone!

-

"Siri call Rosa," Gina said briefly tapping her phone.

"Calling Rosa," it rung, rung for awhile. Until it stopped, a muffle could be heard. Then the scream.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Rosa shouted and turned a corner. Gina followed.

"No! We need to talk Rosa."

"I DONT WANT TO TALK," she swung her car around another corner, "TO YOU!"

"But we need to, just pull over. Please," Gina was trying to stay calm, shouting wouldn't solve anything. Silence. "Rosa?"

The silence was there for a while, all Gina could hear was the sound of the road from both ends of the phone and Rosa's heavy breathing every once and a while.

"Please just go home," Rosa finally said, she wasn't shouting anymore. She sounded exhausted.

"I'm not leaving until we talk," Gina sounded very adamant.

"What do you want me to say? 'I give you my blessing to have the baby'? Not happening," The wobble in her voice was incredibly noticeable.

"No, but I don't want to be on bad terms anymore. I'm tired, really tired."

"So am I, I- I cant do it anymore," the first sob came. Gina's heart sunk.

"Please just park the car Ro. Look up ahead that lay by, we can sit on the fence," Gina directed and Rosa started to slow down. "I won't get close I promise, just close enough to see and hear you!" Gina laughed but Rosa carried on crying. She sat in the car until the call ended and Rosa's car door opened. The taller woman got out and and her silhouette stared at her. Gina took a deep breath before exiting her own car.

They were sat a decent distance apart from each other, sat on a fence, looking over some field. It was an extremely dark, cloudy night and it just dulled the mood even more.

"Got any name ideas?" Rosa broke the thick silence.

"Enigma if it's a girl, Enigmo for a boy," Gina turned her head to look at Rosa. To her surprise, Rosa was looking back.

"If it's a girl you could call her iggy for short," Rosa let the corners of her lips curl upwards.

"Cute," Gina smiled. It was nice to just talk without screaming each other for once.

"Gina..." she trailed off.

"Rosa?"

"I've met someone, she's called Jocelyn," Rosa said, sounding genuinely happy for the first time in months.

"That's amazing!" Gina smiled. But was that smile real? No. She should have been happy, why wasn't she happy?

"We met a couple of weeks ago in a cab..," Rosa babbled on but Gina stopped listening. She just stared at Rosa, nodding every so often to make it look like she was still focused.

*Rosa has moved on. That's great. You should be happy. BE HAPPY. Gina come on. Why aren't you happy. You are having a baby with Milton and Rosa is going to move on with Jocelyn. Jocelyn can beat it. Wait what?* Gina was fighting her own mind for control. She had no idea why Rosa finding someone effected her so much. Unless.... no. She wasn't interested. *but her smile... no. But her laugh.... no. But the way she used to hold you when you cried.... no. But the way she held your waist that little bit tighter when you kissed.... NO! YOU DONT LIKE HER. YOU LOVE MILTON. Wait... I love Milton?* Her mind was taking over. Everything was becoming clouded.

"and then we went out for dinner on Tuesday!" Gina snapped back to reality.

"I'm happy for you Diaz," Gina smiled.

"Thank you,how are things with you and Milton?"

*they are great but I seem to have a weird feeling I might actually like you more than a friend after I told you I didn't lol...* "they are great," Gina left it at that. Best not to complicate things. "So what now?"

"How so?" Rosa asked.

"This, us," Gina waved her finger between them both.

"Look Gina, this was nice but I'm not sure I can do it again. I'm moving on and so are you. Everytime I see you it makes it harder to forget," Rosa looked down.

"So what? you just want to leave each other's lives permanently?"

"Maybe that's what it has to be right now," That familiar wobble returned in her speech.

"It doesn't Rosa, come on we can do this. We can get through it," Gina sounded desperate and flustered.

"Maybe you can but I really don't think I can."

"Please?" Gina asked, tears started rolling down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry Gin, I just can't," Rosa stood up.

"Please no, don't do this!" Gina started wailing. This was a completely new side Rosa had never seen before. Nobody had. Rosa walked over to the sobbing woman and wrapped her in a hug. Gina wound her arms tightly around Rosa's neck. She buried her head into the other woman's neck and sobbed, shaking her head.

"I'll see you at work?" Gina asked into Rosa's shoulder. There was a long silence and then Gina could feel Rosa's head shake.

"As of Monday I'm going to the 64," Gina just cried harder. Rosa stood there, part of her wanted to run away and never come back but one small part of her just wanted to stay there, in Gina's arms forever.

"Please don't go," Gina begged lifted her head up. Her mascara was in a clumpy mess down Gina's cheeks.

"Gin it's what's best for both us, deep down you know that too."

Gina shook her head. "Just because it's best for you, doesn't mean it's best for me!" She frowned.

"I promise you it's going to be okay. After awhile my presence will just start to slip away from everyone's memories, you will have the baby and continue to move forward with Milton," Gina shook her head.

"I don't want to move on without you there, by my side. I need my bestfriend!" Gina put her hand over her mouth snd cried into it.

"Hey hey hey," Rosa repeated and grabbed Gina's face. "Look at me," Gina looked into Rosa's eyes, " you can do this, I know you can. You don't need me. You are better off if I'm not here." Gina shook her head again. "Yes you are. Now you need to promise me you are going to go home, get into bed with your boyfriend and just relax. Forget about me. Life goes on." Gina opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out.

"Promise me," Rosa looked directly into Gina's eyes.

"I can't, I-"

"Regina promise me," The name made Gina's heart ache. "Please, for me." Rosa was now crying. Gina finally gave in.

"I promise," Rosa pulled Gina into her chest, wrapping her in yet another hug. Gina just sobbed into Rosa.

"You are going to be okay. It's going to be okay," Rosa said as Gina pulled away. Gina nodded and sniffed. "You are strong, you can do this. Always remember I believe in you." Before Gina could say another word, her lips were against Rosa's. It was a slow, deep kiss. Gina was again fully taken by surprise but slowly melted into Rosa and contributed to deepening it. She could feel Rosa's hand slide up and her back and her long acrylics scratching at the back of Gina's neck. Gina sighed as they pulled away. Rosa put her forehead against Gina's and smiled at her.

"Last one for old time sake," She tucked some of Gina's auburn locks back. Gina giggled and wiped her eyes.

"You should probably get home," Rosa lifted Gina off the fence.

"But that means I won't see you again," she said as they were walking to the cars parked on the side of the road. It was dark and the roads were deserted.

"I know but remember this is what's best," Rosa held Gina's hand up to her face and kissed it.

"Please don't say goodbye, just, I'll see you tomorrow," Gina asked looking up at her. Rosa laughed under her breath and nodded. She took Gina's phone out of the woman's back pocket and unlocked it.

"What are you doing?" Gina asked standing in her tip toes to look at the screen. Rosa was blocking her number.

"So you aren't tempted," Rosa smiled. Gina put her hands in her hair and walked off sighing. She just needed a minute. Rosa took this opportunity to record something. A little video Gina would find later in her camera roll.

Rosa kissed Gina's forehead and shut the smaller woman's car door; Gina wound the window down.

"I'll see you tomorrow Linetti," Rosa said, a tear rolling down her cheek.

"See you tomorrow Diaz," Gina reached out and wiped it away. "You are strong," Rosa smiled at Gina quoting her. "I love you Rosa,"

"I love you too Regina."

The drive home was silent. So long and silent. Gina just wanted to keep driving forever, into the darkness.
