《It All Started With A Lie》{33}

"Mom, I'm going home," I said, walking up to her, sniffling a little.

"Honey, what's wrong? Are you all right?" she asked, grabbing my shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I smiled, "Just tired, I'll see you at home," I said before quickly leaving with Ethan.

I'm sure you're wondering what happened after he yelled at me, told me it was all my fault, said we're breaking up, and that he didn't believe me or trust me anymore. I'll catch you up. This is what happened:

"This is all your fault!" he snapped at me.

I physically flinched when he yelled. I don't know what it is, I don't take yelling very well, I'm kind of a cry baby, but it just hurt more when he was the one yelling.

"Now, I'm going home, okay? And if you wanna stay and come back with your parents, that's fine, otherwise, I can drop you off," he huffed, seeming frustrated, agitated, and very angry. He thinks I cheated. I guess he has every right to be angry with me.

Maybe it is all my fault.

"Wipe your tears, are you coming or not?" he asked.

"Can I just get a minute?" I asked.

He left after that. And I cried a little more before gathering myself. I need to go home. I stepped out of the bathroom, getting startled when he was standing right there. "Come on," he said, grabbing my hand.

I pulled my hand out of his grip. My heart is breaking over here, I'm not letting him hold my hand. "I have to go tell my parents I'm leaving, I'll meet you at the entrance," I said before rushing over to my mom. And that brings us here, outside, waiting for the valet to bring his car. His car was brought and he gritted his teeth in annoyance while holding the door open for me.

"Thank-"

He slammed the door shut before I could thank him. He then proceeded to speed to my house, parking the car in his driveway as he normally does. He stopped and turned the ignition off but neither of us moved.

I opened my mouth to say something, to do something, but what could I do? He had made up his mind. "Goodnight," I mumbled, turning to the door. I opened the door and was about to step out when he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. I turned to him to ask him what he was doing but he grabbed the back of my neck and smashed his lips down on mine.

I was very confused. Like very confused. And I didn't kiss him back for once in my life. It would've been wrong. I pushed him back, looking at him in utter confusion.

"What are you doing?"

He stared at me before turning to the front. "You have to come inside," he said slowly.

"To your house?" I asked.

"Please?" he requested.

"Okay," I nodded. We both climbed out and stepped into his house, going up to his room straight away. "What happened? You okay?" I asked.

How is it that he just broke up with me but I'm asking if HE'S okay?

"You're asking me if I'm okay?" he scoffed, "Are you okay? After what I did?" he asked.

"I'll be okay," I shrugged, staring at the floor, fiddling with my hands. People don't usually stick around for me anyway.

"God, I am so sorry, Olivia," he sighed, pulling me into a hug.

"I uh, I'm confused," I mumbled.

He chuckled, pulling away to look at me. "I'll explain, I'll explain everything, just let me kiss you for a minute," he said before slowly planting his lips on mine.

What the hell is going on?

I sat there, staring at him, absolutely shell shocked. "So Daniel... he told you that... so you didn't really... you didn't really break up with me?" I asked, still sputtering over my words because that's just how fucking confused I was.

"No, I pretended to so Justin wouldn't know that I already know about his plan," he answered, "I know you probably have questions, ask and I'll tell you anything," he said, eager to have my forgiveness. I wasn't mad at him though. Even if he really broke up with me, I wouldn't be mad. That's just how he feels or in this case, thank god, how he doesn't.

"So, we're still together, right?" I asked.

"That's your question?" he smiled.

"That's my only question," I scoffed, looking down where he knelt in front of me while I sat on the foot of his bed.

"Yeah, we're still together, Olive," he smiled. I let out a huge sigh of relief. "Anything else?" he asked.

"Yeah, what the fuck now?" I laughed humorlessly.

"Now we have to act like we broke up on Monday, just on Monday," he replied, "Just to make him think that whatever he wanted, he got but in reality-"

"He didn't. Cause we didn't break up," I finished for him.

"Right," he nodded, smiling at me.

"Right," I nodded, smiling back.

"God, I am so sorry for talking to you like that. I hated yelling at you and I didn't mean a word of what I said, I hope you know that," he groaned, resting his head on my legs.

"I know," I said, running my hands through his hair, "Well, now I know," I chuckled.

He laughed slightly, shaking his head before looking up at me. "I'm really sorry," he repeated.

"It's okay, you were doing what you had to do," I shrugged.

"You're not mad at all?" he asked, surprised from the looks of it.

"I was while we were still there, but not anymore. I get why you did it so, not really," I shook my head softly.

"You seemed more hurt than you did angry," he said, wincing as he said the words.

"I was more hurt than angry," I mumbled. He stared at me in silence. "I felt my heart break the minute you said I cheated," I said.

"I know you wouldn't do that," he whispered.

"Yeah, but that's not what you said back there. For obvious reasons now. But it just hurt to hear. I thought it was the truth," I shrugged.

"You couldn't have known," he scoffed, "I wish there was another way, I'm really sorry."

"It's okay, really," I nodded reassuringly.

"Really?" he asked, unsurely.

"Really," I repeated.

He sighed, staring at the floor, shaking his head at himself, "I shouldn't have said all that."

"You didn't have a choice," I grabbed his chin, lifting his face till his eyes met mine. "You did the right thing," I paused, "And anyway, you can always make it up to me," I grinned.

"I have to," he chuckled, "What would you like? Ice cream? Dinner?"

"You did tell me you can cook," I smirked.

"I sure can, what would you like?" he asked.

"It's not very grand, but it's what I'm craving... and this is baking but brownies."

"I can make brownies, you wanna join me?" he asked.

"Yes, I most certainly do," I grinned.

"Do you wanna change first?"

"No, I can change later, it's okay," I smiled.

"Okay," he said before pulling my heels off for me. "Come on," he said, standing up and holding his hand out. I took it and we went downstairs. I sat on the counter the entire time, watching him cook.

We talked, we kissed, he apologized another hundred times. He just pulled them out of the oven when the front door opened. I hopped off the counter in a panic when his parents entered the kitchen.

"Hi, kids," his mom grinned, "How's everything going?" she asked.

"Great, Mrs. Archer," I smiled.

"Are you planning on staying tonight, Olivia?" she grinned at me.

"Oh, I-"

"Yeah, she's staying. That's fine, right?" Ethan asked before I could say anything.

"Sure it is," his dad smiled. His parents left after that and we took a few brownies upstairs.

"I'll change while they cool down," I said.

"Okay, you can go take your makeup off, I'll grab you a shirt," he said while unbuttoning his own. He rolled up his sleeves earlier while cooking and with the buttons down, he looked...

I went into the bathroom before my mind went elsewhere and I used my face wash, yes, he bought the same one to keep here and then brushed my teeth with a spare toothbrush that he kept here for me as well before going back out.

"Here," he said. He was shirtless, just in sweatpants.

"Thanks," I smiled. That smile fell when I realized I can't get the zipper on this dress. My mom closed it for me.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"There's a..."

"Zipper?" he smirked. I nodded slowly. "Turn around," he chuckled. I did and he pushed my hair to one side before carefully unzipping it. I grabbed it at my chest before it fell to the floor and felt heat crawling up my neck, to my cheeks. "I won't look, I swear," he whispered in my ear.

I closed my eyes tightly, my heart rate picking up. "Turn around," I said. Once I saw that he did, I took a breath before letting the dress fall. I quickly pulled the smallest sweatpants he had, which I've worn before, and then grabbed the shirt but he snatched it out of my hands upon turning to me. "Ethan," I clicked my tongue in frustration.

"Why? You look better that way," he said, very shamelessly staring at my boobs, which thankfully, were covered in my bra.

"I don't sleep in a bra, I'm gonna need that," I said, reaching for the shirt which he held way above his head.

"Even better," he smirked.

"Ethan," I groaned.

He grabbed my waist, pulling me closer before slowly handing me the shirt. I pulled it over my head quickly, glaring at him. He pecked my cheek before sitting on the bed, eating a brownie.

I just brushed my teeth though.

Whatever.

I pulled my bra off from under the shirt before sitting beside him in bed. "How'd you do that so fast?" he asked, turning to me.

"What? Take off my bra?" I laughed, "I do it every day."
