tewkesbury's pov-
"NO!" enola yells, as i'm prepared to be shot by my own grandmother.
i close my eyes, as ready as i'll ever be.
except, nothing hit me.
besides the lifeless body of the girl i love.
her legs gave out, causing me to slowly guide her to the ground.
i haven't quite processed what's happening, as everything has just occurred so quickly.
her limp figure layed in between my legs as enola starts to scream at the top of her lungs.
i look down at florence, my eyes beginning to overflow with tears.
i hear the gun let out an empty click, as i see enola standing in front on grandmother.
"it's done. it's done." i hear her say, while i focus my attention on the girl in front of me.
"ENOLA! WE NEED TO GET HER OUT, WE NEED TO GO THE HOSPITAL!" i shout, convincing myself she'll be alright.
"florence!" enola shouts while sobbing.
she runs over to the two of us, kneeling down besides her sister.
"flora! no!" she says, sobbing even more.
"come on we've got to get her out of here, we can get help she'll be alright!"
"tewkesbury she's gone." she tells me, backing away from her.
but she's not.
surely she'll be ok.
she's one of the strongest girls i know.
scratch that.
one of the strongest people i know.
"no!! she's not!" i shout at her, laying floras head on the ground as i move to where enola once was.
"wake up. come on." i say, grabbing her cheeks.
she can't leave.
i've only just met her.
there was so much we we're supposed to do together.
so much we were to see and learn.
she lays there not moving, as my tears begin to quickly flow down my face even more.

"no... no!" i shout, laying my head on her chest.
i take her hand into mine, although hers doesn't hold mine the way i do.
"i love you." i whisper with a sniffle.
i sit there, trying to give her a good last few seconds.
even if she couldn't hear me.
i feel her hand move, as her fingers bend, properly holding my hand in hers.
"florence?" i whisper as enola kneels down beside me.
the injured girl let's out a few soft grunts, quite quickly sitting up.
"be careful." i tell her, enola and i both helping her up.
i can hear my grandmother gasp, but i could really care less about that old lady right now.
"be careful." i repeat, holding her cheeks in my hands once again.
"i'm not entirely a useless idiot, you know." she whispers with her soothing laugh.
she begins to untie the top of her dress.
"whoa what're you doing?" i ask, trying to take the laces and tie them back.
"just look, ok?" she whispers back with a smile.
that damn smile.
she opens her top, revealing an armor chest plate.
we both laugh as enola just looks at her in awe.
"if somebody hurts you, i'm going to get hurt to." she whispers, moving a piece of hair out of my face.
"you really meant that." i say.
"of course i did my love, and it will never change." she tells me, looking at me in the eyes.
i begin to lean in to kiss her as i notice enola looking at us in confusion.
i forgot we haven't exactly... revealed it.
i decide a simple hug will do for now.
i do so, lightly holding the back of her head.
she begins to get up, me following.
she throws the chest plate to the side, grabbing my hand as enola grabs hers as well.
"your time is over. and don't ever, hurt one of them again." i tell my grandmother as she looks around rather miserable.
as she should be.
