It Has a Nice Ring To It

was bright and pleasing. The birds sang so beautifully on the rustling trees. The wind was blowing and whistling around the state of Basilwether.

The small pond's running water was heard from a distance. The grass had morning dews that delighted people of its nostalgic beauty.

Y/N and Tewkesbury were scheduled to meet a family of high ranks in the gardens where every flower bloomed ever so beautifully. She wore her nicest pale yellow dress along with her new pair of shoes. Her old one was quite the mess. L/N had her hair down. By the time that they were due to go outside, Tewkesbury knocked on her door.

"Is the lady of grace and beauty ready to meet the Duke's family?" he asked.

She stood there, crossing her arms as he peeked through the small space of the door."I don't know, Tewkesbury. Is she?" she asked.

He playfully sighed."Right. You're missing something." The boy said and walked over to her.

The Marquess of Basilwether kissed her nose and her forehead, her cheeks and her lips."Now, is she ready?" he asked.

"Cheesy, but okay." She answered."She's ready."

He noticed her shaking."Why so nervous?"

"Nothing. Just — "

"You defeated your enemies, Y/N. What can you be so afraid of now?" he asked.

"I'm not the only one who defeated them. Most of you all did the work. I was just standing around, holding my dagger because I'm not really a good combatant. Plus, They're the highest rank in the house of the lords and I'm just — well, me."

"You refused the title the Queen has wanted to give you. They should know that."

A few seconds of silence, she nodded and whispered a slight,"Okay."

And off they go to meet the Duke and the Duchess of Montenice (slow pronunciation).

Once the pair finally joined the Duke and Duchess, they all flashed a smile

Once the pair finally joined the Duke and Duchess, they all flashed a smile."I must say, you have quite a lovely home, Lord Tewkesbury." The man said.

"Thank you, Duke Herbert."

"Looking . . . quite . . . casual, Miss Y/N." The woman, she's assuming the duchess said, eyeing her up and down.

"My, she's not royalty or any of the nobles. It's normal." Duke Herbert said.

Once their meals are served, they started digging in. Y/N cluelessly looked at her plate where a small amount of weird tiny black balls are put.

She looked around at the table and at Tewkesbury who seemed to be quite efficient with this. She tried to copy his actions, only to drop the spoon she's required to use.

Everyone looked at her weirdly. She awkwardly fumbled on the utensils next to her plate and got a fork."Sorry. I'm clumsy," she said. This earned a chuckle from the Duchess.

Duke Herbert bitterly laughed."Poor dining etiquette, I see. I'm not surprised. Your mother — "

"My mother has taught me well about table manners and utensils. Not only that, you dare insult me again, I know exactly where to stab this fork to the right artery that will make you cry for months." Y/N snapped.

The young lord next to her secretly smiled proudly."'Tis not a joke, but a simple reminder that y/n is the proof of feminism's might and intellect."

"No one talks so poorly of my mother right in front of me without getting away with it." L/N said.

The Duke stared at her and cleared his throat."Very well. You have my respect."

The meal continued until the couple eventually left. Y/N and Tewkesbury were left on the table. The lord seemed suspicious since he asked the girl to stay for just a while in the gazebo of the garden.

A few minutes later, L/N turned to her lover."What are we doing?" she asked.

"Waiting." Tewkesbury said.

"For what?"

"For me, of course." They heard. Y/N recognized that voice. She let out a breath and turned to see Guineviere.

"Viere!" she shouted and ran towards her, wrapping her arms on the sweet Lady of Castalene.

"Met them too and to be honest, they laugh like dying turkeys, walk like headless chickens and talk like rubbish pigs. they make me want to twist the edge of their tongue and pull it out."

They both laughed.

And I'll leave the next thing up to you.

Night came. Tewkesbury has invited Y/N on a date since he has never done that for a long time. They stayed at the same gazebo and talked about things.

What she didn't expect is something so magnificent that she knew she would cherish forever.

Silence filled the garden as Tewkesbury only stared at her mesmerising beauty. He then shoved his hand in his pocket quietly and clutched the object in it.

The boy nervously cleared his throat."Y/N?" he called. She hummed in response.

"I love you." He said."I love you too."

With that, he chuckled and stood up from his seat, taking her hands and helping her up.

"I mean it, Y/N. You have no idea how much. Even such existing words couldn't be used to describe how perfect you are. Your flaws? I love every single one. God, you make me so speechless and don't even get me started with your breathtaking personality. You're the rarest kind of woman I have ever met. The most remarkable one. You just — came barging in my life and then blew me off. Meeting you in that flower field and that train is the best thing that could ever happen to me." He started, looking directly at her glossy, happy eyes that shone under the bright moonlight.

"You make me feel so happy — God, if you only knew how much. Even the distance of billions of galaxies isn't enough. You've successfully made me fall in love with your contagious laugh and intoxicating smile. I'm helpless. Whenever I look at you and feel those overwhelming but lovely feelings, I say to myself, 'Ah, so, this is what love is supposed to feel like.'" He continued.

"Every second, minute, hour or even a whole decade isn't enough for me. I want to wake up with you every single day. I want to share everything with you. You're the only person I want to kiss goodnight and spoil until the very end. You guided me with your light and I am forever grateful. You're the reason I fight. I strive for your happiness, Y/N."

"I want to share my future with you. I want to be the one to give you everything you want. I want to be the reason you wake up everyday. I want you so badly and I want everyone to know you're mine. I want to grow old with you . . . "

This is it.

Tewkesbury got down on one knee and revealed the velvet ring box with her name engraved with gold on the lid.

Once he opened it, a shining silver ring encrusted with diamonds that twinkled like stars under the light of the glass-like moon.

"Y/N L/N, Will you do me the honour of being my wife?" he asked.

Y/N's eyebrows furrowed as she held her tears back which was unsuccessful. She laughed.

"I swear to god if this is a joke or something-" then she realised he really wasn't joking. The girl nodded.

"Yes, you idiot. Yes!" she answered and gave him her hand.

Tewkesbury put the ring on her ring finger and happily pulled her in a hug, kissing her on the forehead.

"That was such . . . " they both heard and turned to see Enola sniffling and wiping her tears, " — an emotional speech. I can't — "

Everyone — when I say everyone, literally everyone finally revealed themselves from their hiding spot and shouted happily . . .

"Congratulations!"

Tewkesbury and his now fiancée laughed."Y/N L/N, Future Marchioness of Basilwether."

"It has a nice ring to it!"
