Die For Me and Rot in

Hell

, Nitwit. They have firearms and all we have are swords. This isn't fair play. We need a plan." Y/N said. The boy frowned and stayed silent for a bit before looking at her, determined.

"We have to make them lose their ammunition. I say we mess with their heads to do so." He said.

"Brilliant! Let's distract them." Y/N replied. They both nodded and went separate ways. Tewkesbury whistled for a group of men as they turned and started firing. The boy ran and hid behind a table.

Maybe this is not a good idea at all. He's trapped. Y/N noticed this and rushed, thinking of how to get rid of the men he distracted. She then turned to a wall and saw the rope holding the chandelier.

She let out a breath of relief as she quickly ran towards it and slashed the knotted string with her sword. The chandelier fell straight down to the men who screamed in shock and fear before turning silent.

Y/N quickly ran towards the young lord and hugged him. "You stupid little — you didn't have to hide and just ran until they've lost it!"

"I'm sorry. I didn't — I was — " He stammered.

"There you are!" The girl turned to a man who was about to pull the trigger when Lord Leucrion arrived and hit him with a chair hard enough to knock him out cold.

"You two should leave. This is far too dangerous for the both of you," the man said.

"We'll fight alongside you. If we want to convince the public of our strength, this is the first step from doing so." Y/N said. Tewkesbury stood up and offered his hand to help the girl.

"Very well. I wish you the best of lucks." Lord Leucrion said and left to fight again.

"Let's do this again, but this time, we should stick together," Tewkesbury suggested. The girl nodded and just in time, another group of men who were unfortunately unarmed came rushing towards them.

Y/N took her chance to fight the right ones while her lover eyed his attack to the left. They stood their stance back to back. "This is rather a cliché thing, don't you agree? I didn't know this really happens in a fight until now." The girl said.

"But doesn't it feel good?" Tewkesbury said breathily.

"It does," she answered.

"If you ever die, I'm going to go after you in the next life and I'll kill you myself!" The girl threatened.

"That afraid to lose me, Y/N?" Tewkesbury teased.

The enemies got closer as both of them started wielding their swords, killing them all one by one. The blood splattered on their clothes and faces making them feel disgusted. The smell of the metallic blood filled the air making both of them feel dizzy, but no matter, they were enemies. Enemies who intended to kill them.

"Are you dead yet?!" Y/N yelled asking.

"Not yet! What about you?!" Tewkesbury yelled back.

"Oh, yeah. I'm definitely dead. Can't you hear it from the sound of my voice?" She answered. "Here comes another group of brain-dead idiots."

"Run!" The young lord instructed. They both started running as the bullets whipped passed them in every direction. They then stopped behind the stage, panting and gasping for air. "Remember the last time we did this?"

"Yeah. When your life was in danger and a group of know-it-alls were catching us? Yeah, I remember," she said.

"This is the trickiest part. I have to distract them while you take them down," the girl said. Tewkesbury bobbed his head.

"When I say 'go', we — " "No time!"

The armed men were getting closer and closer when they saw Y/N standing on a table, dancing with knives displayed on her gown. "Lower your guns before I throw a set of knives into your tiny little skulls." She threatened. They all hesitantly put them down.

"Good. Now, who wants to play 'catch'?" She asked with a grin plastered on her face. Suddenly, they were punched and kicked one by one resulting in them to pass out. He then wriggled his fist as it started to have a light red tint from the pain of hitting their skins.

Y/N rolled her eyes, "I guess the answer to that is no one."

"I want to play catch!" Tewkesbury happily exclaimed.

"No, not you!" L/N dramatically facepalmed. He huffed at that as they both laughed. She carefully got herself down the table and walked over to him.

"We never got to dance the last number," she mumbled.

"I'd love to dance, but everyone needs us at the moment."

A piercing scream was heard. They both got off the stage to see a young woman in a light blue dress running for her life. Tewkesbury took the knife attached to his lover's dress and gave it to her.

Y/N aimed it at the man who was madly running after her and threw it, hitting his knee. "Got him!"

"I think I should help Lord Barron," Tewkesbury said. Y/N and him turned their heads to the sloppy fighting lord.

"Wow, why am I not surprised?" She asked.

"For a man who has an arrogance that reaches the palace roof, he's quite nothing when it comes to this type of thing." Tewkesbury mumbled.

Y/N gasped. "Did I just hear you insult someone?!" She exclaimed in disbelief.

"Why so surprised?" He asked.

"I've never heard you insult someone before." She answered. He chuckled and shook his head as he walked over to Lord Barron, assisting him.

A few seconds later, Y/N was pushed to the ground making her groan in pain. "Who — "

She looked at the face of her attacker and her heart dropped to her stomach as she found out who it was. "I knew you were too familiar to be hit with that goddamn knife." She muttered under her breath.

"Missed me?" He asked.

"Not one bit," Y/N gagged. The man only grunted as he watched her.

"Lack of manners. I see nothing has changed." He said.

"Except when you finally see me beat your wrinkling arse." She said and stood up.

"You do remember I'm the one who taught you how to fight, don't you?" Her father asked.

"Sorry, I can't recall. Mind telling me the whole story?" She remarked. With that, punches were thrown as they both got themselves hurt.

"Our techniques are all the same. Stop trying to prove you're better." He said. The girl huffed and kicked him on the stomach. He groaned and backed away a little.

Just then, he spotted the sword tucked on the lace of her dress. As the girl got closer to him, her father quickly snatched the weapon from her and pushed her to the floor.

"You left me no choice, darling," The old man said as he held the sword, ready to slash it across the chest of his own flesh and blood.

"You had a lot of choices offered before you on a silver platter, but you ignored them." She said and coughed with watery eyes and fresh swollen lips.

"Any dying wish?" He asked.

"Die for me and rot in hell."

Without any hesitation and pure anger, he raised the sword up in the air as Y/N finally accepted the fate that she's about to take. The girl closed her eyes and braced herself for the impact only to feel nothing on her.

A clanging noise was heard as she opened her eyes to see Tewkesbury deflecting his sword. "Not her. Never her." He said and controlled the swords to go the other way with the swift movement of his arm.

"What a damn fool you are, Pierre? Have you forgotten your manners, boy?" ( insert your father's name ) cocked an eyebrow.

"My respect is given to those who are deserving. I will always forget my manners whenever I am familiar with your presence. Accept your defeat. This doesn't have to go this way."

"Or does it?" The old man asked. "Look at her; Vulnerable and weak. She knows nothing. She is nothing."

"Perhaps I heard you wrong." The young marquess protested. "She's everything."

"Why are you so absorbed by this silly little girl? She's only using you for money — "

"I have my own money." Y/N spat.

"She's using you for that feminist matter that's going on."

"Enough!" The Basilwether's leader spoke

"Don't you see? She's manipulating you; Using your title and everything you possess to her own advantage. Once she's gained everything she needed — everything she wanted, women will have all the upper hand and treat us like mere specks of dust. Where will you be? Used? Worn ou — "

"You've been tainted with greed and I soon won't forget the name of the man that disgraced his own blood," Tewkesbury responded.

"I'm only doing what's best — "

"I told you!" The boy shouted as he thrusted the sharp blade into the old man's flesh. The noise of the metal in his chest was heard along with a swift whip of something they didn't see.

Tewkesbury pulled his sword away revealing the fresh thick liquid that stained the lustrous blade of heavy iron. He slowly backed away, blinking numerously, his hands shaking from guilt and his back hurting from an arrow that hit him.

The head of the L/N house fell on his face to the cold marble floor, swimming in his own pool of blood. Y/N's eyes widened from this. Her face went pale as she watched him take his last breath. The girl slowly lifted her head to spot the boy she adored for years. Her breath got caught up in her throat when she witnessed him fall on his side with an arrow on his back.

"Tewkesbury!" She yelled and stood up. The girl saw the blood-stained arrow and panicked. She shakily grabbed the thing and slowly pulled it out making the boy groan in pain.

Hot tears filled the corner of his eyes. "It's not deep. Thank god." She mumbled and threw the arrow away from them furiously.

Y/N used her hand to cup his cheek as he panted. "Look at me, look at me. Don't you dare close those eyes and look at me, you idiot." She muttered repetitively.

"Help!" She screamed. As the lords finished the enemies, they turned their heads to their direction.

"Focus on my voice. Focus on me. Don't you even dare say a thing. Save your breath and breathe, all right? Do you understand me?", she asked.

The boy nodded and tucked a loose hair behind her ear. "How many times do we have to go through this?", she asked.

"You promised me you'd be careful. What the hell is wrong with you?!", she whisper-yelled, crying.

With the last bit of strength, he raised the girl's hand to his lips and kissed it. "Don't speak like I'm going to die. I'll be back for you, Y/N. I'll be back."

With that, he let his eyes rest as the lords finally got someone to rush to his aid.

Y/N has never felt so pissed off in her entire life. She has also never felt so satisfied to see someone close to her die.

What a Masquerade Ball.
