━︎━︎ IN WHICH GUNSHOTS FIRE
Walking into Basilwether Edith felt unease, as if someone was watching them although utter silence filled the mansion.
The floor creaked under their feet and so did the large double-door, making a huge amount of noise as Tewkesbury pushed it open, letting the girls enter before Enola shut it close.
"Where are all the servants?" He asked, his voice going quieter than before as he looked around.
"Dead?" Edith suggested as Enola and Tewkesbury gave her questionable looks saying 'not the right time'. "Just a suggestion." She said, wrapping her arms around her chest as she broke the eye contact she had made with Tewkesbury.
"Mother?" Tewkesbury called out in a quiet tone, but he got no response so he walked forwards, the two girls sparing each other a look before following him into the other room. "What's happening?" Tewkesbury asked, but didn't expect an answer as they walked into a familiar room.
"They know we're here." Enola answered quietly as they continued walking through the room, stopping their movement before a round table, the eery silence was no help in the situation until it was replaced with the noise of a rifle and they wished for that silence to return as Enola yelled for them to get down.
The shooter shot out a bullet, hitting the once elegant vase that stood on the table, but fortunately the three ducked down just in time, missing the bullets being fired in their direction.
More gunshots fired maniacally out of the rifle, trying to hit either of the three.
Enola stood up with her back bent forward as she pulled up the two. "Run!" She yelled as the three of them ran into a different room, trying to escape the danger that was suddenly put upon them.

Running their way into the hallway they caught sight of the door they had just entered with, pushing their bodies against it and trying to push the door open, but it didn't budge.
"It's locked!" Tewkesbury stated as another gunshot ran through the room, hitting one of the metal armour statues that's stood meters away from them as they pressed their backs against the door.
More gunshots shot out, hitting the velvet red chair that stood closely by them, tearing holes into the material, all three of them letting out a scream of terror.
"Run!" Edith yelled as they started to run forwards trying with all their might to avoid any bullets as another hit a vase in the windowsill.
Pressing their backs against a wall and hiding beside a statue, they panted, out of breath after running through the mansion, horror written all over their faces.
Edith shut her eyes, her hand searching for comfort as she found Tewkesbury's but he didn't even realise as he was too in shock of the currently more important situation.
The rifle cocked again, making her heart speed up even faster than before and her hand to tighten around his, a tears glossing her eyes as she recognised the man with the brown bowler hat.
Another gunshot, this time hitting the arm of a statue. Enola let her body slide down to the floor, her hands going over her head as Tewkesbury started to magpie her actions down to the ground, Edith with him as he looked away from the mans direction.
They were all scared to death and it felt as if they were characters in a book that was due to end with an overload of tears and sadness or even death of the main character.
A bullet shot out, this time causing the shoulder of the statue to break apart from the rest of the body, hitting Enola on her head, knocking her unconscious.

"ENOLA!" Edith screamed as she was about to attend to her friend, but instead Tewkesbury pulled her back, shaking his head as tears brimmed his eyes.
Edith took the silent advice he gave her and didn't move an inch from where she stood.
Another bullet shot out, hitting the statue on their left as Tewkesbury and Edith dropped to the floor, their backs still pressed against the wall.
The two sat with their knees pulled up to their chests and panting heavily as a metal slate from the statue clanked against the tiles of the floor.
Edith looked out past the statue, making eye contact with the man holding a gun. Suddenly a realisation came to her, not so pleasant memories coming back.
This man was more than the man who nearly killed Tewkesbury.
He was also the man who killed Billy Ainsley.
His facial expression was the of the same cruelty and harshness before. His smirk more evil but still the same. His bowler hat the same ghastly brown colour of dirt.
But he wanted to kill her too.
He wanted to complete his unfinished business. To not look like a fool who couldn't kill a thirteen year old girl three years ago.
To finish what he started.
And Edith was going to help him with that, just not in the way he wanted.
With her own twist.
The man lowered his gun, a smirk playing on his face as he purposely dropped the gun down to the floor, taking slow steps towards the three of them.
Edith quickly turned her head to face Tewkesbury as he turned his to look at her.
There was a split second of silence where they accepted the fact this was maybe the last time they would make eye contact with each other, because being this close to death as they were right now wasn't as usual as you thought.
"Stay here, Flower boy." She told him, making eye contact for a second more before slowly slipping her hand out of his, feeling empty at the loss of physical contact, and standing up, only to walk into the middle of hallway, seeing the man standing there at the ready to fight as she cracked her neck to the side.
"Two can play game, old man."

The Hand of Fate
Little by little, the magic disappeared from the Continent, and today no trace of the Magical Sparkle remains in the continentals. Ethan is tired of living on the Tiburon, a merchant ship that travels the waves of the Four Great Seas of the Continent. His innate nature, which from childhood made him immeasurably appreciate the stories of magicians and warlords of ancient times, pushes him to search for greater stability on the mainland, starting from where he could begin to travel to unexplored areas and respond to his irrepressible curiosity. Garatier seems like the right city to start over and just Garatier and the individuals that Ethan will meet there, will allow him to enter the tunnels of an ancient, hidden, forgotten world that yet has always been there. However, the way in which The Hand of Fate moves the threads of destiny is unpredictable and as often happens, not everything will go according to Ethan's plans because, ultimately, no one can oppose Fate.
