━︎━︎ IN WHICH SHE GETS ATTACKED
Sunset strolls were one of Edith's favourite things to do after any day. It took her mind of things, but she simply loved the feeling of soft wind blowing in her brown hair. It made her feel like walking through a cloud.
Enola was back at the lodging house sleeping or solving the mystery to her mother's disappearance. Edith knew she should've been helping Enola as she had agreed to do that but her mind was currently someplace else as she walked through the close-by forest she had found.
Her yellow dress blew slightly behind her as the wind got stronger. Edith stopped walking and closed we eyes as she inhaled the air around her with a smile on her face.
She opened her eyes and looked up to find the sky in a deep orange colour which would soon change into an inky blue with tiny splats of white all over.
The girl knew she had to get back to the lodging house before the sun set so she wouldn't get lost in the darks of London city.
But before she could turn around to go back in the direction she cane from Edith heard a tree branch crack. She froze on the spot and looked around, trying not to make a sound.
The brunette heard footsteps approaching her, but instead of running away — like average person would — she spun on her heels in the direction of the footsteps and got ready to fight whoever was there.
There was just enough sunlight to make a figure out of the shadows, but not enough time to see the persons face. Although, she did see a bowler hat.
Edith thought quickly as the attacker threw a punch in the direction of her chest, so she did the first thing that popped into her head.

Edith grabbed the rather large hand, pulling it over her shoulder as she turned around to face the opposite direction. She used her other hand to throw her attacker over her back — which was quite hard to do as the person, who she now identified as a man, was heavier than her, but she somehow succeeded.
The man fell on the leaf covered ground with a grunt, not expecting the girl to have defended herself.
"I'm quite fond of judo, for your information" Edith said as she swiped dirt from her hands.
She was about to run away but he quickly stood up as Edith put her hands at the ready to fight. She threw a punch at the mans chest but he dodged it by twisting the upper part of his body to the side.
He swung his arm at Edith as she quickly dropped to a crouching position only to stand up after a second and the both of them to throw punches which were either dodged, blocked or hit the other person.
Suddenly the man grabbed both of Edith's arms and pulled her forward as he leant back onto the floor and used his leg to throw her over him.
Edith grunted as she hit the ground with the front of her body, she struggled to get up as the man got up with no struggle.
"I'm quite fond of Judo as well" He said in a low voice only a dangerous person with the intention to kill would have.
Edith moved her head sideways and saw the man's feet walking around her as she tried to push herself up.
She grunted for long moments before pushing herself up and swiping the dirt off of her face with a finger.
"Well then let's see who's better" she challenged with a glare as she cracked her knuckles.

He took a step towards her but before he could attack Edith had kicked her leg up and pushed him with the heel of her shoe. The man fell backwards, hitting a tree as he panted slightly.
After a second he leaned off of the tree and started walking towards Edith — who was determined to win this fight with a small smirk on her face.
There were many punches thrown, but what sealed the deal was when Edith kicked her leg sideways, hitting the man in his ribs and causing him to drop to the ground with a pant and grunt.
Edith panted heavily as she stared at the man she had just fought with. She finally had a moment to observe what he looked like, but it was dark and she could make out any specific facial features. But Edith did recognise one thing, the brown bowler hat.
. . .
The next day Enola had left Edith in the lodging house, early in the morning, to leave secret ciphers for her mother to read in newspapers.
So Edith was left alone in their small and dirty room, doing nothing but staring at the ceiling and blowing a strand of hair from in front of her face.
She was just about to doze off before she remembered something.
Edith leaped to her feat and dropped on her knees as she looked through the draws of the bedside table.
She finally found what she was looking for and stood up, she straitened out the paper before dropping paints onto her bedside table as she sat down on her bed, leaning on the bedside table as she painted something onto a yellowish piece of paper with the paints and a paintbrush she had found earlier in the lodging house.
She looked at the page of paper with satisfaction in her work after she had finished and cleaned up.
Edith dropped back onto the bed and closed her eyes in hope of going back to sleep, leaving the missing marquess poster with flowers painted all over it on her bedside table.
"Now you're the flower boy I know" she mumbled to herself, slowly falling asleep.

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages
