Y/n sat in the library as she does every Thursday afternoon, waiting for a particular mischievous Gryffindor to arrive for their tutoring session. As she continued to work on her Charms essay, she kept track of the time as the minutes ticked by, the calming silence of the library surrounding her.

When Louis entered, she didn't see him at first, but she knew the way the doors opened loudly, and the rushed footsteps, that it was in fact the boy she'd been waiting for.

She spared him a quick glances, causing a guilty expression to cross Louis' features as he realized he was twenty minutes late. He opened his mouth to apologize when Y/n cut him off. "Don't worry about it. It's fine. Let's just get started before Mcgonagall's on your arse about your failing grade." She replied.

Louis furrowed his eyebrows at her response. "Pads told me that whenever a woman says something's fine that she really means the opposite." He says cautiously, finding the seat across from her.

Y/n's quill paused for the first time since his arrival. "I'm serious. It's fine. Now, Transfiguration, yeah?" She says, sliding her class notes in front of them, tucking away her essay for later.

Ever since about mid-October, Professor Mcgonagall had asked her star student, Y/n, to tutor Louis, because as hard as she was on the five pesky marauders, she had to admit she had a soft spot for them. And let's face it, they didn't pay attention in class anyway.

Now, early December, Y/n and Louis had met one to two times a week for her to help him with understanding the material.

But over the last few weeks, Louis had been asking for more and more sessions, insisting he was falling behind, but in reality Louis had grown fond of the Y/l/n girl, intrigued by her to say the least. And during these extra session, he had been able to grow close to her, and even Y/n considered them to be friends now.

Y/n's best friend, Lily Evans, insisted that Y/n in fact fancied the young Gryffindor, but Y/n was adamant that she had no feelings for him whatsoever.

Taking her quill back into her hand, she turned to Louis to review the new material, working through it for about an hour, until the pair of them had gotten Louis to a good understanding.

Now, most bystanders would say that it was unrealistic, the way Louis was so concentrated on his work, but he wanted to show the Ravenclaw that he could apply himself and work to get better and improve.

After they had finished their work, Louis and Y/n found themself in conversation, a rather interesting one at that, "How is that possible?" Louis asked teasingly. "You're in your sixth year and you've never been on a single date to Hogsmeade?" He asks in disbelief. "I'm sure there's loads of lads who would love to take you out."

Y/n shook her head, "No one's ever asked me." She admits, fiddling with the sleeve of her robe.

"Rubbish. I know for a fact that one of the Ravenclaw blokes asked you, and you refused." He says cheekily.

"I wasn't going to go on a date with Lockheart. Do you really think that low of me?" She teased.

Louis was quick to apologize, not noticing her teasing demeanor, "Oh, no, I didn't mean —"

"Relax Partridge." She chuckles to herself, standing up and pushing in her chair, the clock reading that she was supposed to meet Lily in a few minutes.

Louis saw her getting ready to leave and scrambled to get up, realizing it was now or never. "Well, if you want to check another activity off your Hogwarts bucket list, and fix your little dilemma of not having the joy of going to Hogsmeade on a date. How about we do out."

Y/n freezes mid-step, his works echoing in her mind. "Like—Like on a date?" She stutters slightly.

A sudden confidence comes through Louis, standing up straight and nodding, "Yes. A date." He confirms, waiting anxiously for her response.

Y/n ways her options, biting the inside of her cheek before nodding. "I—I'd love to." She says.

"There's even a trip this weekend, if you'd like to do it then?" He asks.

With another nod, Y/n swings her bag over her shoulder and moves to walk with Louis to the door of the library. "I'll see you later then?" She asks, a light smile on her lips.

"Yeah. See you later." Louis says as he watches her leave with a dreamy expression on his face.

As Y/n turns the corner, she runs head first into just the redhead she was looking for. "There you are!" Lily said, dusting off her robes. "I was about to come barging into the place. What took you so long."

"Louis asked me on a date." Y/n answer, still a bit in shock.

Lily's eyes widen before she squeal, Y/n quick to slap a hand over her mouth, since Louis might still be in the corridor. "I knew it! I knew he fancied you as well! Oh my goodness, we have to get you ready, and there's so much to do!" She says excitedly, "Just make sure that i'm the Maid of Honor at your wedding. And to name your child after me." She says cheekily.

Y/n rolls her eyes at the peppy girl's behavior. "Only if I'm the Maid of Honor for you and Potter." she teases back playfully, " and besides, the date isn't until Sunday, and it's only a date. And it was just because he pitied the fact that I haven't gone on one yet." She says, looking down at her hands.

Lily tsks before looping her arm through Y/n's and dragging her towards the Great Hall, eager for dinner. "I swear, the way that boy looks at you, I don't know, there's something about it." She mutters.

They go their separate ways and Y/n finds a spot at the Ravenclaw table. She thinks about Lily's words in my head, picking at her food, her appetite suddenly gone.

She takes a quick glance at the room, when to familiar hazel eyes seem to find hers. Y/n also sees Black smack his shoulder when he noticed she's caught him in the act.

But, that's not the only time it happens.

Multiple times through the meal, Y/n catches Louis looking at her, and each time, She sees the marauders tease him about it afterwards.

Sunday will definitely be interesting.

After a stressful two days, and a lot of Lily being worried about my date, it's finally time to ride the carriages to Hogsmeade.

I wait outside in the frosty air, burying myself into my blue scarf, the wind wiping at my cheeks. Lily huffs for what has to be the hundredth time, checking her watch again. "If that boy stand you up I'm going to beat his arse." She mumbles. Checking over her shoulder, she sighs with relief. "Speak of the devil."

Louis comes up to us, smiling to the pair of us. "Ready?" He asks, extending his hand for me to take it.

I look to Lily for reassurance and she nudges me forward. I place my hand in his, and Insee his smile brighten as he tugs us towards the carriages. "You two have fun!" Lily calls after us. "Be back before dark, Partridge!" She calls after him.

He turns a moment to give her a salute before climbing onto one of the carriages as I sit next to him.

I instantly let out a breath at the warm inside of he carriage, thankful for whoever put a heating charm on it.

Louis and I strike up a conversation until we get to Hogsmeade, immediately dragging me to Honeydukes, which I am completely fine with.

After selecting our treats, Louis takes them from my hands. "Louis, what are you doing?" I ask curiously.

"I'm going to pay for these." He answers in an obvious tone.

"Here." I say, reaching to get out my money from my pockets.

Louis shakes his head quickly. "No, I've got it." He answers. "But, If you really want to pay for it," He paused before leaning closer, pressing his lips to my cheek, and pulling away quickly. "Paid in full." He responds with a smirk, taking the sweets to the cashier, leaving me standing in place like an idiot.

Smooth little fucker.

I decide to wait for Louis outside the shop, the rush of people coming into the shop, and I wait by the door to catch him on the way out.

As I exit, the first thing my eyes are drawn to is four figures standing across the path in the store. They seem to notice me and duck away, but not before I see a pair of round glasses.

Oh my god.

Cant they leave us alone for a day?

I internally groan and wait a moment longer for Louis to come out of the store. When he does, I grab the sleeve of his robe. "Y/n what—"

"We're being watched." I cut him off. "So I think we should have a little fun with them." I say with a smirk.

Louis seems shocked at my behavior. "Wow, super smart and mischievous. Have you ever thought of befriending Moony?" He wonders aloud as I pull him to the borders of Hogsmeade, making our way behind a tree.

Sure enough, four pairs of pounding footsteps come in our direction, but they must not have seen us take a sharp left. I raise my finger to my lips to signal Louis to be quiet. "I could've sworn I saw them go this way." Black says, slightly out of breath from trying to chase us.

"Um guys?" Peter speaks up, "Shouldn't we be getting back?" He asks as he looks around in paranoia.

"We'll be fine wormtail." Potter answers, "I'm sure they're here somewhere. We need to keep an eye on them in case Lou embarrasses himself."

I see Louis roll his eyes and huff. I look around us and pick up a few rocks from the floor. Louis raises an eyebrow in my direction, but I ignore him as I throw the rock in another direction, making the four boys jump.

I see Louis seem to get an idea, and he leans down to whisper in my ear, "Keep them distracted. I'll be right back." He says, darting in the alleyways between the shops.

I see him appear on the other side of the clearing. I grab a mother stone and throw it, making the marauders turn around, giving Louis enough time to run out from his spot and scare the four of them to death by tackling Black to the ground.

They all scream as Louis does this, making me break out in laughter, Lupin the first to notice my presence.

He looks between Louis and I, causing us to laugh harder. "That's what you get for following us!" Louis exclaims, getting off the ground, dusting off his jacket and coming over to my side, throwing an arm over my shoulders. "Thanks to Y/n's brilliant plan." He compliments me, making the other four boys gape at me.

"I get what you see in her now Lou." Black mutters, making Louis flush in embarrassment.

"She's definitely got potential." Potter mutters.

"For what exactly?" I cut in, looking between Louis and the group.

Lupin steps forward and extends his hand. "Nothing. I'm Remus Lupin. I think we could honestly make a good team." He introduces himself with a kind smile.

I know him, actually, the shy, quiet kid who's secretly a genius. "Y/n." I say, shaking his hand.

Black's eyes widen as we shake hands. "This is going to be terrifying. The two of them working together? We're not ready for this, Hogwarts isn't ready for this!" He exclaims.

Louis laughs at his friends and turns back to me. "Looks like our mischief if managed. You wanna go get a butterbeer?" He asks.

I stand on my tiptoes and press a kiss to his cheek. "I'll meet you there. Make sure these heathens don't follow us." I say as I go to grab the bag of sweets to exit, but not before I hear Black scream,

"DUDE, PARTRIDGE'S GOT GAME!"
