Shuuko's POV
Opening my eyes, I suddenly felt two fangs prick my neck before slowing sinking into my skin as his grip on my body tightened. Wincing from the pain, I quietly pleaded for him to stop.
Shuu licked my neck before pulling me closer to his body, his hand going over the bump on my stomach. His soft breathing tickled my skin. I had assumed that he had went back to sleep despite having just woken up a minute ago.
"Shuu, I want to get up."
"Just a little longer," he exclaimed sleepily.
"It's already the late afternoon."
"Am I not allowed to sleep with my wife?"
"Well, I have to go make dinner."
"Just leave that to the others."
"But-"
"You want omelette rice?"
"*blush* W-well, I was hoping to make it tonight..."
"...fine."
I smiled happily but not before he captured my lips in a gentle kiss. He leaned in, his fangs barely just grazing my lower lip. I pulled away and caught a glimpse of the concern lying beneath the illusion of coldness in his sea blue eyes.
His hands reluctantly let go of my body before I quietly slipped off his bed. Quickly brushing my wavy blonde hair, I headed outside and downstairs to the large kitchen.
My sister, Yui, smiled from where she sat. All the ingredients and equipment lined the counter, which undoubtedly brought a satisfied smile to my face.
"So? How has it been?" she asked as soon as we started.
"How has what been?"
"How is it? With your husband, I mean."
"Fine I guess."
"Oh and when's the baby due? I can't wait to see (her/him)."
"In a couple of months. If you're so eager, why don't you just get together with Ayato or something?"

"*blush* Eh?! No way!"
"Oi, what are you two talking about?"
Speak of the devil. Ayato strode in, pulling Yui in by the waist. She acted nonchalant despite the dark blush staining her cheeks. Laito trailed in after him.
I immediately avoided eye contact with the vampire as he leaned against the kitchen counter, his eyes following my movements as I prepared the food for this evening.
"Omelette rice?" he asked.
"Yep."
Short, concise and straight to the point. No idle chatter nor unwarranted information. He had tried to come onto me once and it had undeniably scarred me. If not for Shuu, I would have most likely succumbed to his unsatisfiable lust.
It was unlikely that he had forgotten yet it was common sense to assume that a perverted playboy like him took no notice of others' suffering. Keeping a wary eye on the male, I cautiously moved across to the fridge.
"Hey Shuuko-chan, why does it seem like you're avoiding me?" Laito asked.
"You must be imagining things."
"I'm pretty sure I'm not. I trust my intuition."
"And I trust my decisions."
"So you are avoiding me."
"Why bother trying to get to me when you know I'll just reject you?"
Within seconds, he had his finger under my chin. Glaring at the vampire in front of me, I reached behind, feeling the handle of a knife beneath my fingers.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," he warned.
"Then let go of me."
"Scared without your prince charming here to protect you?"
I glanced around the kitchen but Yui and Ayato were nowhere to be found. Gripping the knife in my hand, I managed to stop the trembling in my hands.
"Let go."

"If-"
Shuu ripped his hands off my arms before he could finish the rest of his sentence. I immediately ran behind the blonde male, finding security and safety with his hand holding mine.
"Oh well. Until next time."
Laito teleported away, leaving the two of us alone in the now too cold kitchen. I leaned against his back, feeling an uncomfortable pain in my stomach. He was angry, I could tell.
Yet neither of us said anything to break the suffocating silence that hung in the air. We were suddenly in his room with him snuggling up to me on his bed as if we had never gone to the kitchen.
"Be careful of him," he said quietly.
"I am."
"He interrupted my nap time."
I smiled despite the uncomfortable feeling nagging at my stomach. His eyes were closed, letting me look at his face more clearly than when he was awake.
He looked too innocent when he was asleep, almost as if that cold, dark vampiric side of his never did exist. I lifted my hand up but jumped slightly when he grabbed onto it.
I winced as he sank his fangs into my wrist, his grip softening ever so slightly. Feeling lightheaded, I felt my eyelids grow heavy. He stopped once he noticed the exhaustion taking over my mind.
"...I'm sorry, I won't take any more blood," he said.
"Thank you..."
No one's POV
Shuu watched as the young human girl closed her light green eyes. He reluctantly looked away from her beautiful face to look at the balcony that overlooked the rose garden.
"Why didn't you stop that idiotic brother of yours?" Shuu asked.
"And since when did I have to do that? I don't give a damn about what he's doing," replied Ayato.
"Oi Ayato! Did you flood my rose bushes again?!" Subaru yelled from the garden.
"Oops, sorry. Kinda just forgot about leaving the hose out..."
"Leave. You guys are too noisy," Shuu exclaimed.
Shuuko stirred in her sleep, indirectly making Shuu freeze on the spot for fear that he had woken her. Instead, she only turned slightly before settling down, her body shivering.
He pulled the blanket over her body, eyeing the red-haired vampire who left with a large smirk on his arrogant face. He began to relax but that peace was short-lived.
The arguing of his brothers from downstairs was irritatingly loud, his enhanced hearing making it worse than need be. Burying his face in his wife's neck, he tried to drown out the background noise.
Soon enough, he was lulled to sleep by her soft, rhythmic breathing. Little did they know that a certain prank-pulling male had surreptitiously snapped a few shots of the two, planning to tease them later.
"Might I ask that you send those to me as well? I want to see a reaction from that deadbeat brother of mine," exclaimed Reiji.
"Sure thing."
"You guys aren't thinking of teasing my sister too, are you?" Yui asked.
