(Y/n)'s POV
Staring at the starry night sky, I let out a content sigh and breathed in the fresh air. Standing atop this hill, one could see the entire city. It was a sight too beautiful to forget, hence why I was here. To live in the moment.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist as they leaned their head on my shoulder. The familiar scent of his cologne and his tender hold was enough for me to identify the person standing behind me.
"You're up here again," exclaimed Rogue.
"Of course."
"I missed you."
"It hasn't even been a day."
"Am I not allowed to miss my girlfriend?"
"Oh? And I thought we weren't official."
"Just because no ones knows about us doesn't mean we can't be together."
I smiled, knowing the truth behind his words. Being in his presence always made me feel protected and at ease. I could do anything with him and avoid the judgemental pain from strangers.
He was a warmth that I had treasured within my heart. Despite his seemingly dark magic, he was warm. I placed my hands on his, feeling the pulse of his life beneath my own.
Without warning, he suddenly turned me around and gently placed his lips on mine. I kissed back, tangling my fingers in his hair as he cupped my face.
He leaned in deeper before pulling away, his forehead leaning against mine. I stared into his eyes, grateful that he was by my side...grateful that he'd never leave me.
"I love you," he said softly.
"I love you too."
~The next day~
Geez, the guild's loud ruckus was already getting to me and it was still morning. Sting offered me a pint of beer, which I accepted without much thought. Downing its contents, I stared at the guild members having their happy conversations.

"Where's Rogue?"
"Impatient, aren't you? Eager to see your boyfriend?" Sting asked with a smirk.
"Pfft, you're just jealous that you don't have a girlfriend. Even if you did figure out our relationship, I don't think he'd have ignored the fact that you've been staring at Yukino more recently."
"*blush* W-what a joke."
I noticed the quick glances he risked at the light-haired mage. I caught his gaze, making me him look away in irritation. Smirking, I walked around to look him in the eye.
"I was right, wasn't I? I don't actually know if Rogue knows about this. I just thought that getting him involved would've made you rethink the fact about hiding it."
"Damn you."
"Well, it seems like Yukino left the guild. Want to follow her?"
"What-"
"Let's go."
I pulled the male by his collar, making Lector follow us out of curiosity. The young girl was only a few metres ahead. Sting's gaze was solely on her, reminding me of the time I used to look at Rogue with that same longing.
"Hey (Y/n), isn't that Frosch?" asked Lector.
"Huh? What's he doing alone?"
I ran up to the little exceed, lifting him off the ground.
"Where's Rogue?"
"Frosch...got lost. Rogue-sama isn't...coming to look..."
I looked at Sting but he seemed just as confused as I was.
"Look! There's Yukino!" Lector exclaimed.
We saw her disappear into a side alley. Without a moment's hesitation, we ran down the deserted alleyway. Where the hell did she go? Carrying a trembling Frosch in my arms, I ran down this illusional maze.
Seconds turned into minutes, subtly engraving a growing sense of irritation into my mind. Sting gestured for me to follow him. His dragon slayer senses must've picked up on her scent.

He suddenly halted to a stop, making me bump into his back. I walked around to see what had caused his reluctance to continue only to freeze just as he had.
"R-Rogue..."
Yukino had her body pinned on top of him, her lips capturing his, trapping him between herself and the wall behind him. A bouquet of flowers lay loosely in his hand. His eyes widened once he noticed us.
"(Y/n), this isn't-"
"Rogue-sama!"
Frosch jumped out of my arms, oblivious of the tension that had risen.
"So the reason you weren't at the guild was because you had a secret date with Yukino?"
"Oh, this is embarrassing. I didn't think I'd get interrupted. I asked Rogue to meet up with me. I...wanted to ask him out..." Yukino exclaimed, a blush forming on her cheeks.
"I-I see. So he bought those flowers for you?"
"I'm not sure. He didn't say anything about them..."
A dark shadow fell over Sting's eyes. He gave my shoulder a squeeze before leaving. Lector cast one more look at us before chasing after his buddy.
"Yukino, I'm sorry but..." Rogue started.
"Do you...not feel the same way?" she asked, clearly upset and embarrassed.
"Sorry but I already love someone else."
"Oh..."
"Yukino, go talk to Sting. I need to ask Rogue about something."
"...okay..."
She quietly took her leave. Rogue took a hesitant step forward, his eyes unsure. I clicked my fingers, making his body freeze in place. My magic allowed me to manipulate gravity, but deeming it somewhat difficult to use, I had learnt reflector from my mum.
"You...really don't love her?"
"No, the only one I need is you."
"The flowers..."
"Are for you."
Tears brimmed my eyes but I refused to let them fall. I unconsciously released my hold on him. He immediately took this chance to pull me into a tight embrace. Being in his arms again made me feel secure.
"I'm sorry for making you worry," he whispered.
"Rogue-sama, Frosch is getting squashed!"
The exceed jumped out from between us and fell face-flat onto the ground. I burst out laughing.
"Omg, that was so cute!"
"(Y/n)-sama, is Frosch funny?"
"You're adorable."
Rogue pouted as I picked up his exceed.
"What? Jealous?"
"In your dreams," he replied while looking away.
I walked up to him and pecked him on the cheek. He blushed slightly. I smirked but he simply pulled me in for a deep kiss. A dark blush formed on my cheeks once I noticed Frosch staring at us with the innocence of a child.
"You're so mean."
"I'll take that as a compliment," he replied with a wink.
"Rogue-sama, Frosch is confused."
"Let's go get something to eat."
"I'm worried about Sting. What will he do with Yukino?" Rogue asked.
"I'm sure they'll be fine. I mean, I am a little mad at Yukino but Sting's strong. He'll get through it somehow."
"...yeah, you're right...(Y/n)?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you, and I mean it. I wouldn't leave you for anyone."

Valor and Violence
Valor and Violence is a series of short stories following different, yet all equally colourful, characters set in the same world. Birth of a Legend, the first short, follows Captain Erskine Erwell, a newly promoted Captain in the Calandorian Royal Navy, charged with protecting his people from all who would do them harm. Great news for the Calandorian citizens, bad news for the Skjar reavers that ravage the shores in search of slaves. But when a small reaver fleet slips the net and escapes to the southern jungles of Marduk, Erwell must fight a war on two fronts; one against the raiders, and a far more difficult war against the hostile landscape. If he can't find allies in this strange land, he may end up being the one in need of saving. The first part of the second short story will be uploaded on Saturday, the 11th of June, following Ferez Ahud, an aspiring young battlemage charged with the unsavoury job of 'terminating' a rogue member of his college. But how this nobody of a mage became a fugitive remains a mystery, and when the answer is discovered, the tables are turned and the hunter becomes the prey. I'll be uploading chapters of more in-universe short stories each week or as close to, work permitting. Content Guidelines: course language and violence

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages
