(Y/n)'s POV
"Hey, are you okay?"
Yes, that's right. I was saved by this man. Despite myself being nothing more than a stranger, he had taken the time to save me. Instead of taking his leave, he decided to help me...
"Y-yes, thank you."
I had begun to fall in love without realising it. He now held my heart in his hands. I was only a prisoner to his desires, yet he did not seem to know of my feelings.
"Come with me. You need some medical attention."
If there was anything I could change that day...it would be nothing, absolutely nothing. I was glad that we had met by coincidence as I would not have had the chance to fall in love for the first time.
"N-no, it's fine."
"Come on, I can't leave a girl alone."
"..."
"You can trust me. I'm Urek by the way."
"...I'm (Y/n)."
I was brought back to reality by the very man that had been on my mind. He snapped his fingers in front of my eyes, making me blink a few times before my vision cleared.
"What were you thinking about?" Urek asked while sitting down beside me.
"Just thinking of when we first met."
"So?"
"So what?"
"Did I seem like a hero or what?"
"*smiles* In your dreams."
"Oi, I'm the man of every girl's dream. You should consider yourself lucky to be friends with me."
"I'd rather consider myself busy, what with all your troublemaking."
"Troublemaking?"
I gasped as he pushed me down onto the sofa with his body towering over mine. A small blush crept to my cheeks as I looked away from his eyes and tried to calm down my beating heart.

"Get off."
"You don't know who you're dealing with here, do you?" he asked in a low tone.
"Of course I do. You're just a dense moron who I just happened to come across."
"Hey, this dense moron saved your life."
"I'm well aware of that."
"*sigh* Forget it."
He got off and walked away, his back facing me. The feeling of his hands on my arms refused to fade, leaving me longing for at least some hint as to whether he felt the same way.
I hugged my knees, not sure what to do anymore. My mind had entered a mental struggle and it was unlikely that I would resolve it any time soon.
Before I could relax, the aura of a dangerous enemy filled my mind. I pinpointed his exact location and shot a blast of condensed shinsu at the enemy.
The window of the room shattered. Urek immediately lunged towards me as an attack came my way. His gaze was on the enemy but the only thing on my mind was the close proximity of his body.
"I could've protected myself. I'm not a light bearer for nothing."
"Where's my thank you?" he asked teasingly.
"Tch, just don't hurt yourself."
He just grinned before jumping out the window. I supported him from here, giving him the enemy's location whenever he needed it. To be honest, he could've done this without me. I wasn't even sure what I was here for.
"Hello little missy."
I quickly turned around at hearing the creepy whisper in my ear. This was strange, I couldn't sense his presence at all... Damn, I wasn't supposed to be so weak.
"Who are you?"
"Do you really not know who I am?" he asked while casually sitting down.

"I wouldn't be asking if I knew."
"I'm your brother."
"Brother? I never had a brother."
"We were separated at birth. Have you honestly never wondered where your inhumane light bearer abilities came from?"
"Why would I?"
"Your power to sense and pinpoint one's exact location is incredible. Of course, your lighthouse control is on par with a high ranker's...but can you beat me in hand-to-hand combat with your defence skills?"
"Try me."
I dodged the spear just as it was about to pierce my chest. It was true that I was weaker with attacking so it all depended on chance. I, alone, had no hope of winning.
He forced me back outside, where his spears hit my lighthouse barrier. I had surrounded myself in its protective orb, trying to find his weaknesses...if he had any.
"Naughty girl. You're making me use one of my more powerful spears," he exclaimed.
"Do you really think I care?"
This looked dangerous. I needed to get out of here. The spear was a dark being, alive almost. I could see the dark shadows surrounding its long, slender body.
Before I could escape, it shot straight through my barrier and into my stomach. I tried to stop the blood flow but my element of earth was almost useless against this.
Urek's POV
What the hell? This guy was as weak as a bug. If they wanted to kill us, send someone stronger please. I couldn't stand fighting weaklings like him.
What happened to (Y/n)? She stopped supporting me around halfway throughout the fight. Wait, wasn't that her barrier? It was shattered...and I've never seen it shatter before...
Tch, I swear to God...please. She couldn't die now. I only met her a few months ago and she sure did make me fall hard. I would sacrifice my life for her...so please...
"Too late," said a voice behind me.
"Where is she?!"
He held up (Y/n)'s body with one hand, a large wound soaking her clothes with blood. Her eyes were closed but I could see the slow rise and fall of her chest. She was still alive.
"Why?"
"Why what? Why did I do this to her? It's obvious, isn't it? I hate her. She stole my parents away from me," he replied angrily.
"Listen, I don't care what crazy reasons you have for hurting her but I'll make sure you regret it."
"How-"
I punched his stomach, sending him flying back a few metres before catching (Y/n). He wasn't getting back up. I guess I put too much power into that punch.
"(Y/n), oi. Wake up."
"...Urek..."
"Thank god..."
She coughed out blood. Her skin was as cold as ice and looked deathly pale.
"(Y-(Y/n), we're getting help."
"What's this? U-Urek, this is t-the first t-time I've seen you s-so worried..."
"Don't talk. I-"
"I was...happy that I-I met you..."
"Oi, you're going to be fine."
"T-tears?"
I felt my cheeks. Was I...crying? Of course I was. She was going to die! I couldn't stand losing her when I've spent so little time by her side...
"Hey Urek..."
"Yeah?"
"I...wanted t-to tell you a-at a better time but...I love you," she exclaimed with a smile.
"(Y/n)-"
"Don't cry...too much...okay?"
Her hand fell limp as soon as she wiped my tears away.
"(Y/n)? O-oi, wake up! H-hey..."
Her body turned into dust, leaving behind nothing but the necklace that she always wore.
"You look pathetic," Yuri commented while landing next to me.
"...she's gone...and I loved her..."
"I'm pretty sure she'll want you to live for her. Don't cry, it doesn't suit you."
"Tch, what a comforting friend you are."
(Y/n)...
