This chapter sucks fix this shit

Sam:

Escaping right now was my main priority.

Then I would find Sketch and get the hell out of here.

But Xanthe rarely left my side, and was usually always within ear shot - always listening in.

Currently, he was sitting at his desk looking at papers and other vampire business that probably involved the murder of countless humans. He was so cocky about everything. Always draining me until I couldn't move, and as horrendous and painful as it sounds and how it should be - it was just the opposite. I wished it hurt, but it felt like I was floating between two worlds, a never ending bliss.

He knew I was awake but didn't bother to make any acknowledgement that I was, but the anticipation was killing me. That ticked me off too. As if he was purposely causing a reaction, pouncing when my heart beat rose and my hairs stood on end.

The torment didn't stop there either. My hair was wet to the touch, and I was wearing brand new clothes that were made from the finest silks - that I didn't put on. My skin was squeaky clean, even the dirt under my finger nails were properly trimmed without a speck of dirt in sight. The freak saw me naked, and had bathed me without me knowing. I shivered pulling the large fluffy comforter over my head. I wanted to protest the luxury when everyone was starving below but couldn't help but relax for just a second. A second of bliss.

. Last night was fuzzy and mostly a blur, using me as his personal blood bag had it's toll on my body.

"When will you let me see my brother?" I pulled back the covers and looked over at him tired of the silence. Xanthe didn't make any movements, hell, he didn't he acknowledge that I spoke. Was his thick skull not paying attention?

I sighed dramatically throwing the blanket back over my head. I was tired of waiting around, waiting for him to come over here and drain me dry. I wish I had some sort of weapon. Then I'd be able to kill him and be done with it all.

"You couldn't hurt me even if you tried sweet cheeks." he commented dryly but I could hear the sinister amusement in his tone. Once again I threw the covers back and glared over at him. He won't answer my questions but will use his vampire tricks to read my mind like a psychotic freak?

"If I had a weapon I would drive you into oblivion." I hissed, turning on my side so I didn't face him.

"Is my mating bond really that weak?" Xanthe stood from his spot, dropped his papers and rounded the desks' corner. "I guess I'm just going to keep fucking you until you submit to me."

Xanthe stood at the end of the bed as I raised myself on elbows to see what he was doing. My eyes nearly bulged out of my head as he reached up and started to undo the tie at his neck, throwing it over his shoulder before stalking toward me. His form glitched in front of me and with inhuman speed grabbed both of my wrists in one hand - pinning me down against the silk sheets.

I gasped as my arms were pinned directly above my head as his fangs flashed pearly white against the light.

All I felt was humiliation as my body started to act on it's own, betraying me and relaxing underneath him. My neck was exposed to his sharp fangs, allowing him free reign to that cursed mark.

As if I had become accustomed to him sucking me dry- the thought made me gag.

"Never mind," he pressed a kiss softly against my artery. My mating with you proved to be strong. You are already submitting to me." he whispered huskily, moving his lips down my nec. His tongue swirled around his mark, the feeling unreal.

I curled my toes biting my lip drawing blood just to stifle a moan. But then I felt his teeth sink into my throat. The pain was not existent, and yet it was replaced with overwhelming pleasure. This time I couldn't stop my voice, and let my body get the better of me. My mind was reeling and the feeling was surreal. It was too much and the feeling to submit to him further grew like a fucking weed. I might have blacked out for a second, but I couldn't be sure with the amount of euphoria I was feeling.

My body was burning, excited to the point my pants grew impossibly tight in need of more.

Of course he knew, but he didn't touch me. Even though how badly I wanted him to touch me, I wouldn't say that to his face, never.

With perfect timing a knock pounded away at the door, and with Xanthes permission - even in my state - the guard had walked in on us.

"Xanthe, your sister requests to see you."

"Tell her I'm busy." Xanthe barked, and then simply returned to biting and kissing my neck, making it that much harder to keep my voice from spilling out.

"She said it's very important." the guard pressed, not even bothered that Xanthe was on top of me - basically attacking me.

Xanthe sighed, digging his nose into my neck, inhaling deeply. "We will have continue this later, baby," but before he left he squeezed my crotch hard and I almost doubled over.

With one final smirk he left me in this state, disappearing along with the two holes in my neck. I rolled over on my stomach, groaning lowly at my stupidity for rubbing my already annoying erection on the bed.

In an attempt to ignore my raging hard on I searched in some of the dressers and bookshelves around the room but what really caught my eye was the wooden chest over by his desk. It was a nice carved wooden chest, probably hand made. It could only be unlocked with a key but I could attempt pick it.

I found a letter opener and a paper clip, and prayed to whatever god was out there that hopefully it would work. I went over to the chest, doing my best to unlock the lock. I kept moving them around but it wasn't working.

I kicked the chest in anger, and was equally surprised and pissed that it opened right up with the force. I sighed placing the items down on the floor before opening the chest wider to get a better look.

On the inside was a bunch of random items that had no meaning but it all looked valuable to the point I wished I could shove show in my pockets and make a run for it. From trinkets and pouches of gold, to letters and pictures from other times. But what really had me stop in my tracks was a glass photo of Xanthe and his family.

He was standing besides the Ancient Vampire, Orion and a younger girl who couldn't have been more than twelve and another boy beside her. Twin boys stood in the front, mocking the camera with funny faces. They looked so young, so innocent, and nothing like what I witnessed from the valley to the dome. I had to remind myself that this reclusive group of cannibals was not in anyway innocent or harmless.

I placed the picture down, moving away some junk to get to a nicely wrapped object. The leather was soft, and with care unwrapped the cloth binding to reveal my shiny smiling reflection. My lucky dagger was practically spotless, and in great condition to stab a vampire through the chest. And not just any vampire either - that sick bastard who thought he could own me.

For my escape I had only two options, the vent or the balcony. The vent would be perfect, definitely better than falling to my death but I just didn't know if I was small enough to fit.

I used the dagger to pull the screws up, then pried it under the cold metal. My plan could go in any direction but I was prepared for anything. If I couldn't find Sketch, I would have to leave and regroup with Riley. If I ran into Orion or any of the other family members I would definitely have to get away. There was no way I could take on an Ancient Vampire.

But if I happened to cross paths with Xanthe I'd make sure I put this dagger straight through his heart.

It was a tight space but I made it through by crawling. The vent was long and cold, and I could only hope it would lead me far away from that room.

I took a couple turns but it led me to another air gate ahead. I managed to get myself around in the narrow space and kicked the gate open. Hopefully no one was on the other side to see a metal air vent go flying.

I climbed through, going feet first, into the hallway. It was a fairly large hallway but no one was here. A pair of voices was approaching, but the maids did not see me as I ducked into the back hallway.

I kept walking straight, passing halls and keeping an eye peeled for blood-suckers. Lucky enough I didn't cross any of their paths, just a lot of human cattle.

It was going smoothly until I saw him. The demon who I would take out, even if it cost me my life. Xanthes back was facing towards me, voices from another conversing in a hush.

I sunk back against the wall, watching and more importantly trying to pick up on their conversation for any beneficial information.

But I couldn't.

They were too quiet, and way too far away. Just as I was about to conjure some nerve and go out there, his sister, Xelia, popped up beside him. Now three siblings of the royal family stood before me, and two too many. I gripped the dagger tight in my hand, heart thumping like a stick to a drum.

I closed my eyes and laid my head back on the wall to breathe. There was no way I could take on three vampires, I wasn't even completely sure if I could take Xanthe head on.

"Where's the twins?" Xelia barked, as if she had been there all along.

"Oh be quiet, you're the one who requested us here without explanation."

With inhumane speed two more family members joined the group, and the famous twins didn't miss a beat.

"Good, now that we're all here we got word that a train got derailed near a station here. Word is out that a highly skilled group of humans have been planning to infiltrate the castle."

"I'm not doing your dirty work, Xelia, isn't this your department?" Xanthe sighed, running a hand through his dark hair.

"Do it for me." Xelia whined, much like a child.

"Well I guess we will have to defend the castle." He smiled at his sister. "Has anyone informed Orion?"

"No one can find him."

"Well we need to find him, and warm him. These humans are getting out of hand." The youngest said.

"Don't worry we can't be killed with the weapons they have." Xanthe taunted, and I glanced at the dagger in my hand with defeat - feeling so foolish to think I could manage a kill.

"You just gotta worry about your pet, Xanthe."

"Just get to Orion, I don't have time for your mouth too."

In a blink of an eye they separated in different directions - one directly towards me. The youngest...and unable to conjure a name I ducked low behind a hallway as he had quickly passed.

If I had to take a guess there are some sort of elite humans here and better yet they are trying to extract us. To save us. Sketch, Alice, and me.

And perfect timing too. I just had to avoid those bloodsuckers, and make it out of here. If Orion was no where to be seen at the moment, that meant Sketch would be hard to find. But right now I just had to find one of the humans that infiltrated the castle.

One glance back down the hallway confirmed that there was not a soul in sight. Taking my chances I made my way down the hallway in the direction that the youngest went.

As I made my way down the endless hallways I was sure I was getting myself lost, but just as I was turning the corner I came face to face with the youngest brother.

He smiled softly with a wave of hand but in the next moment I was on the floor with him on top of me. My arm was twisted painfully into my back, and my cheek pushed flat into the floor.

"So weak." he commented. "...you're Xanthes' little pet! How'd you get out?"

But in the next second he was off me, and I heard a grunt of pain and then running of shoes.

Two girls stood in front of me, wearing combat designed clothes that resembled something I once saw on the out-skirts of the dome scouting with Riley. The girl on my left had her hair tied back low, with ear paint under near her eyes.

The other one was not armed, but I knew why. The dagger was laying in the boys stomach.

He was dead - killed by their weapons.

When I thought I would be full of joy and rejoice, a part of me, no - a bigger part of me was sad that I may have had a hand in it.

They ran at me and dragged me to my feet.

"One of them marked you, how disgusting."

"No matter, lets go."

I nodded too preoccupied with the boys death to think of anything else a following their lead, and back into the main hall.

But not a second later I heard an ear-piercing scream. But I didn't look back, I just ran along with them.

"Our west-side team is defending the back end searching for the witch. Then my comrades are trying to find your brother, we are trying to make this quick without casualties." The blonde said.

"How are we getting out of here?" I asked.

"We're improvising."

"Alright then." I commented.

We kept running but something was wrong. The feeling of not getting out of here was overwhelming. I could feel my hope diminish with every step.

We turned the corner and I really wish we didnt. Xanthe was at the end of the hall, but once he saw me his eyes narrowed into slits. He was really scary and I know the girls felt it too.

"SAM!" He roared.

"Sam run, we'll take him." The girl barked. I didn't argue and I took off for it - I could not face him.

But as long as they can hold him I should be fine.

But I was totally wrong.
