The sound of gun shots and excessive yelling woke Audrey up, when she walked downstairs she saw Matt and Jeremy on the couch playing Call of Duty. Elena walked around the kitchen preparing breakfast for everyone. She had her cellphone pinned to her ear with her shoulder, while she talked to Bonnie over the phone. Today, Audrey, Elena, Jeremy, and Matt stayed home from school since Kol still posed a threat.

"Haha got you!" Jeremy shouted to Matt as they played their game.

"Apparently I'm living in a fraternity house now," Elena said into the phone.

"I'm training," Jeremy joked.

"Me too," Matt agreed chuckling. Audrey rolled her eyes at them but made her way to the couch, sitting down beside Jeremy.

"Train yourself to do some dishes. And put these weapons away before someone tries to use one on me," Elena laughed walking back into the kitchen. Jeremy paused his game and looked at Audrey with big puppy dog eyes.

"No, I'm not doing the dishes for you," Audrey mumbled already knowing what he wanted from her.

"Please! You'd be the best big sister ever," Jeremy pleaded giving her an innocent look.

"I already am the best big sister ever. This won't work Jer, I stopped falling for that when I was 13," Audrey laughed ruffling his hair playfully. He frowned and sighed with defeat before getting up to do what Elena said to do. Matt followed. Audrey grabbed one of the controllers and resumed their game. Elena glanced at her sister before walking into the kitchen.

"There's one more thing, Audrey can't know about this. If we're going to have Jeremy kill Kol she needs to stay oblivious. She might be mad at Klaus right now, but I don't trust that she won't tell him," Elena muttered into the phone quietly. Bonnie sighed on the other end.

"I know, you're right. It just feels wrong to keep her out of it," Bonnie said. "But if it gets rid of Kol and completes the tattoo faster we have to do it,"

"Exactly," Elena said moving towards the doorway to watch her younger sister play the video game. "I'll do anything to make sure Audrey and Jeremy stay safe,"

After playing a few rounds with Matt and Jeremy, Audrey ventured up to her bedroom. She bounced a little as she landed on her soft bed. She grabbed out her phone and felt a ping of sadness hit her heart. The background picture on her phone was a photo of her and Klaus she begged him to take with her. They were laying in bed together, Audrey's head on his chest smiling happily. Klaus is looking down at her, not even paying attention to the camera. He has a soft content smile on his lips that made her heart flutter ever time she saw it. Her heart was yearning desperately for her soulmate. She wanted to drag out the anger she felt but it was impossible. Besides, the more she thought about it, the more she realized she should've told him about the hybrids sooner. Maybe she could've talked him into sparing Tyler again. She could've saved Carol. Her fingers went to her contacts and she pressed his name. She hovered over the call button before deciding against it. She wouldn't even know what to say to him right now. She sighed and laid her head on her pillow, soon sleep overtook her and she fell into a dreamless slumber.

While Stefan was off wooing Rebekah for the possession of the last dagger, Klaus got the pleasure of babysitting Damon. The raven haired vampire was lounging lazily on the bed in the cell while Klaus leaned against the door frame taunting him. "You know, none of this would be an issue if you'd have just done your job properly. I was perfectly willing to let you train, Jeremy," Klaus said stepping inside of the room.

"No you weren't. Are you kidding? You got there day two," Damon scoffed tossing an empty vial of blood in the air and catching it as he laid in his bed. "You know how hard it is to get these X-box brains to focus?"

"And then when I turned a room full of barflies into vampires for him to slaughter, you let Kol kill them," Klaus went on as he ignored Damon.

"Your brother problem, not mine, buddy," Damon mumbled as he continued tossing the empty vial.

"And whose bright idea was it to saddle Jeremy with a conscience, hmm?" Klaus questioned.

"Well, we couldn't have him trying to stake Elena in her sleep now, could we?" Damon replied in defense.

"Ah, yes, for the love of Elena. How is it that she manages to overlook everything you've ever done? Is it willful ignorance or perhaps something more pathological?" Klaus asked pacing around the cell.

"Some people are just more capable of forgiveness than others. Bet you score a negative 500 in that realm," Damon answered snarkily.

"Come on. There must be a secret. It can't just be the sire bond. What is it? Compulsion? Manipulation?" Klaus questioned but Damon was over it. Klaus swallowed his pride and sighed. "What is it you say to her?" Damon stopped tossing the vial and smirked as he sat up in his bed.

"I think this has something to do with a certain doe eyed, innocent, brunette, human," Damon said watching the way Klaus's face hardened. "I think you murdered Carol Lockwood and I think you're worried that Audrey's never going to forgive you," Damon grinned from his revelation.

"You've done worse," Klaus gritted out with frustration.

"Debatable. See, I don't mind being the bad guy, because somebody has to fill that role and get things done. You do bad things for no reason. You do them to be a dick," Damon argued.

"Debatable," Klaus muttered out.

"If you're gonna be bad, be bad with purpose. Otherwise you're just not worth forgiving," Damon said laying back down in bed slowly. "You know, funny thing is, Audrey's the one who told me that," Klaus looked down and clenched his hands. Damon was right, as much as he hated to admit it.

By the time Audrey woke up from her nap it was dark out. She looked at her phone and saw it was 7: 30. The sound of video games being played loudly could be heard from her room and she figured it was still Jeremy and Matt. She yawned, stretched out her limbs, and tiredly rose from her bed. She slowly walked downstairs and to the living room expecting to find her family, but instead Kol stood in front of the couch playing video games. She was stunned with shock and turned towards the kitchen to see Elena pulling out a bottle for them. What the hell was going on? "Uh, Kol?" Audrey questioned. Kol paused the game and looked her way. A smirk began to overtake his lips.

"Ah, Audrey. What a surprise," He greeted calmly. "I didn't know you were here,"

"I just woke up from a nap," She mumbled scratching the back of her head.

"Yeah, I can clearly tell," Kol scoffed playfully. Out of all the Gilberts, Kol could only stand Audrey. She didn't annoy him quite like the other two did.

"Audrey? What are you doing here?" Elena questioned when she walked into the living room.

"I just woke up," She answered. "What's going on? I thought Kol was trying to kill Jeremy,"

"You're siblings want to call a truce with me. At least that's what they claim," Kol answered for Elena. "I've already said that I won't kill Jeremy. I don't fancy the hunter's curse much," Audrey's eyes widened because she knew exactly what her siblings were up to and it wasn't to call a truce.

Elena swallowed nervously and held up the bottle she found. "I had to dig up the old people alcohol, sorry," She joked hoping to defuse the tension. She turned around and walked back into the kitchen, Audrey followed.

"Yeah, that's the problem with people today. They have no drinking imagination," Kol said with the shake of his head. "Turn of the century New Orleans, now, they knew how to make a drink," He approached the island counter in the middle of kitchen where Elena stood, opening up the bottle. Audrey stood on the side Kol was on. She felt a spike of fear run through her. Elena and Jeremy were luring Kol to kill him. If he caught on than he'd kill them all. Why would they do this? Why not have Klaus dagger him instead?

"You lived in New Orleans?" Elena asked innocently.

"We all did, till Niklaus shoved a dagger in my heart," Kol replied, his eyes glancing towards Audrey.

"Don't look at me. I'm just the guys soulmate, I had nothing to do with that," Audrey said holding her hands up in defense.

"Why did he dagger you? What did you do?" Elena asked lightly, hoping to keep the Original calm. Unfortunately, that failed.

"What makes you think I did anything? Has your alliance with my brother softened you to his horrors?" Kol questioned growing defensive quickly.

"I don't have an alliance with Klaus," Elena stated sternly. "We had a mutual interest in finding the cure. That's all,"

"Had?" Kol asked with confusion.

"Yes," Elena snapped. "And I'm willing to give up looking for it if you promise to leave my family alone," Kol studied her to see if she was bluffing. She set the martini shaker down on the counter and sighed. "Now can you teach me how to make this?" Kol still held a skeptical look as he slowly grabbed the shaker. Elena smiled innocently. "I'll get the ice," Audrey could tell that Kol wasn't buying it.

"Well your sister might claim she doesn't have an alliance with my brother, but I know that you, can never hate him. Give me one good reason why I should trust you and your family," Kol said to Audrey, looking her straight in the eyes.

"Klaus and I aren't speaking right now so he really doesn't have any part of this. As for everything else...," Audrey trailed off. "Tell me why you're so scared of Silas?"

Kol smirked with amusement as he made the three of them drinks. Elena brought over a bowl of ice and set it front of him. "You're a clever one, darling. I like your attitude," He slid the two of them glasses before taking a sip from his own. He motioned for them to follow him and they did, back into the living room. Elena was checking her phone nervously, Matt had just told her he still hadn't found Rebekah's dagger.

"No one else seems to think Silas exists, so why do you?" Audrey asked as she approached Kol who was leaning against the back of their couch. Elena joined them and stood close to her sister.

"I used to run with some witches in Africa in the 14th century, Haiti in the 17th century, New Orleans in the 1900s. They all knew about Silas and that he needed to stay buried," Kol explained. Audrey saw a flicker in his eyes when he mentioned the witches. He really admired them. "I actually hold witches in high esteem,"

"Yeah, but why Silas?" Elena questioned. "Why are you so afraid of him?"

"They said if Silas rises, he'll unleash hell on Earth. I happen to like Earth the way it is," Kol sighed. Audrey was now growing concerned. Why would an Original vampire ,who is practically invincible, be so scared of something if it wasn't real?

"That's pretty biblical," Elena mumbled. Audrey fought the urge to smack her sister for her ignorance.

"Well that's the other problem with people today. They've lost faith. And in that loss, they no longer know who they should fear," Kol scoffed feeling the same as Audrey.

"I believe you," Audrey muttered. Kol smirked and raised his glass to her.

"That's because you actually have a brain, Audrey. You're not blinded by the greed of getting that cure," Kol complimented before taking a drink.

"I knew all of this seemed too good to be true. If this cure has been around before even your family, why has no one gone looking for it until now?" Audrey questioned, smiling with relief. Her intuition had been right all along. She knew there was something sketchy about the cure and getting it.

"That's because all witches-well most, know that raising Silas will bring nothing but destruction," Kol answered. "That's why the Brotherhood of Five came into place. Not only are they supernatural hunters, but their purpose is to destroy Silas. Once a hunter's mark is complete, he can start his quest to find Silas and kill him," Audrey's eyes widened and she glanced over at her sister to see her reaction but she was too busy texting someone. She didn't hear a word Kol had just said. Once their drinks were gone Elena went to find another bottle. Audrey was still trying to process the information Kol just shared and Kol was wandering around looking at old pictures of the little family. He picked one up of Elena, Audrey, and Jeremy all laughing together, he could tell how happy they used to be.

"So, we're out of gin, but I think this is a good year," Elena laughed holding up a wine bottle.

"What if I said I don't believe you," Kol said still looking down at the picture.

"Okay you caught me, I don't know anything about wine," Elena joked but Audrey could tell she was nervous, because she was too.

Kol set the picture down and turned to face the eldest Gilbert. "It just seems odd that you'd be so willing to give up something you want so much,"

"I would do anything for my siblings. And if what you're saying about Silas is true, what does it matter what I want if it puts everyone else in danger?" Elena lied, Audrey wanted to roll her eyes at her but didn't.

"Well this has been enlightening. Thanks for the drinks," Kol replied with a fake smile before heading towards the door. Elena began to panic and went after him. "I'll take your request for a truce under advisement,"

"Is there any way you could be wrong about, Silas?" Elena asked before he stepped out the door.

"Trust me, Elena. Some things are better left buried," Kol answered before shutting the door. The two sisters waited a few minutes before heading to the back of the house to talk.

"What the hell is going on? Why did you call a fake truce with Kol?" Audrey questioned already knowing the answer.

"He threatened Jeremy again and even went after Bonnie. He's unstable and we need to put him down. Besides if Jeremy is the one to kill Kol it will complete his mark," Elena explained quietly, she didn't know if Kol was lurking around still or not.

"This is so wrong! I can't let you two kill, Kol. There are other ways to go about this! Klaus can dagger him or something you don't have to kill him to get your way," Audrey argued defensively.

"There isn't another way. He's never going to stop and he took all of Klaus's daggers. Rebekah is the only one left who has a dagger and Stefan is with her now to use it on her. If we want to find this cure we can't have anyone in our way," Elena replied sternly. Audrey frowned and glared at her sister. Before they could say anything else, Jeremy walked in quietly with a gun pressed closely to him. He was moving around the house with ninja like stealth before he stopped and saw his sisters in the kitchen.

"I'm sorry. He left. I mean, I-I tried to stall him as long as I could," Elena explained to her younger brother. He was about to reply when the doorbell rang.

"That's Bonnie. She was right behind me," Jeremy said lowering his gun. Elena walked to the door and pulled it open but it was Kol standing there instead of Bonnie.

"I've considered your request for a truce. Request denied," Kol said menacingly. Elena's eyes widened and she quickly slammed the door shut locking it. Jeremy quickly grabbed Audrey and pulled her into the downstairs bathroom to hide. "I'm sorry. I've already been invited in!" He kicked the door open and Audrey jumped from the sound. "Hide and seek? Fine by me," He taunted as he made his way into the house. Jeremy looked at Audrey and mouthed "Stay here." to her, before quietly leaving the bathroom and shutting the door. Audrey listened and heard Kol on the phone. "Did you know your darling former blood bag and her brother are trying to kill me?" Her breath hitched, he had to be talking to Klaus. "Don't pretend you're not in on it. Your obsession to find the cure clearly trumps any sibling loyalty you once felt," She heard him growl. "I'm going to rip off Jeremy's arm and kill Elena just for sport. Then I'm coming for you," Audrey's heart began to hammer in her chest. She knew Kol could hear it too and when footsteps approached the bathroom door she wanted to scream. The door was ripped open and she was pulled out. Shock took over and she couldn't do anything but look at Kol with wide eyes as he held her shoulders forcefully. His face was vamped out and he was ready to attack but he stopped himself. "Did you have anything to do with this? Don't lie to me!"

"N-No! No! I promise! I've been sleeping most of the day and woke up to you here and put two and two together," Audrey answered in fear. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she thought about how Kol was gonna kill her. His grip on her loosened and before she knew it he was shoving her out the front door.

"I respect you, Audrey. You're the only smart person in this town, so I'll spare you," Kol said calmly. Audrey sighed with relief but when she saw Elena standing at the top of the stairs behind Kol holding a crossbow, panic began to set in again. Elena shot Kol in the leg with an arrow before disappearing upstairs. "I can't say the same for your sister though," He growled as he pulled the arrow out and ran after Elena. Audrey wanted to go after him and help but she was the only one in her family who wasn't supernatural. She didn't have the strength to help so she grabbed out her phone and called the one person who did. She jogged down the steps of her house and walked down the side walk as she tried to call Klaus. His phone must have been dead though because it kept going straight to voicemail.

"Come on, Klaus!" Audrey groaned. She had no one else to blame but herself. Had she not cut contact off with the hybrid he would be here by now. She tried his phone again but it went to voicemail immediately. She gave up and called Bonnie instead.

"Hello?" Bonnie answered.

"Bonnie!! Thank God you answered! We need you at the house now!" Audrey shouted in worry. "Kol is there and he let me live but hes going after Elena and Jeremy and there's-I can't do anything to help!"

"I'm on the way right now. I'll try to get there as fast as I can, I promise," Bonnie replied giving Audrey hope.

"Okay, I'll see you soon then," Audrey sighed before hanging up. She relaxed a little and stopped walking. She turned around to head back but was stopped by someone. She looked up and her heart nearly dropped to her stomach. Klaus stood tall before her with a solemn expression on his face. "K-Klaus," She squeaked out nervously.

"Where's my brother?" He asked.
