Soo I'm really sorry for the long wait. Honestly writers block had me stumped for the longest time and I still don't feel this chapter a 100% but it's only because there's a plot point that I'm so eager to get to that writing all these filler chapters get so tiring. Anyways thank you for sticking with this story!
Audrey groaned as she pulled her jeans on. "Why are these so tight?" She asked herself when she finally managed to button them. She examined herself in the mirror to make sure she looked alright before exiting her room. She made her way to Jeremy's door and knocked loudly. "Just because Elena isn't staying here anymore doesn't mean you can be late for school, Jer!" She nagged.
"I'll be down in a second!" Jeremy shouted from the other side. Audrey rolled her eyes but made her way to the kitchen. Matt was eating a bowl of cereal at the counter. Ever since Jeremy lost control and tried killing Elena, Matt and Audrey had been staying with him at the house to keep an eye on him.
"Good morning, sunshine," Matt chuckled as Audrey rolled her eyes at him. She grabbed a poptart from one of the cabinets and opened it quickly. "Rough night?"
"You could say that," Audrey huffed. "I couldn't sleep at all,"
"Yeah, me too," Matt smiled.
"Hey, thanks for staying here with us. Jeremy really needs it," Audrey said taking a bite from her pop tart.
"No problem Aud, you know I don't mind helping you guys out," Matt smiled softly. "You guys are my family too," Audrey smiled and nodded.
"Sorry, I slept in, but lets go," Jeremy sighed walking down the stairs.
"Good morning to you too," Audrey said sarcastically to him. Jeremy smiled playfully at her before grabbing her pop tart and taking a bite.
"Fudge ones are better," He replied handing it back to her. He grabbed his bag and headed outside to Matt's truck. Audrey flipped him off as he left.

Audrey was grabbing her books from her locker when she heard a whoosh sound behind her. She turned around to see Klaus smirking down at her. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a smile.
"I missed you. I hate that you have to stay home to babysit your brother," Klaus sighed stepping closer to her. She quickly glanced around to make sure nobody was watching.
"I missed you too, but you could've waited until I was out of school to see me ya know," Audrey laughed.
"That's too long to go without this," He said before leaning down to kiss her passionately. Audrey kissed back completely forgetting her surroundings. She dropped her things and wrapped her arms around her boyfriend, pulling him impossibly close. They were getting lost in each other but a loud cough quickly brought them back to reality. They pulled apart and looked over to see Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie all watching awkwardly. Klaus frowned and looked back down at Audrey. "I should get going, but call me once you're out of school, love," She nodded and leaned up to kiss him one more time before stepping out of his arms. He glanced at her friends shooting them a glare before vanishing.
"You two have been displaying major PDA lately," Caroline giggled. "Any reason for it?"
"Honestly, I have no idea. It's like whenever we're with each other we can't stop touching or kissing," Audrey smiled. "Sorry, I know it's probably weird for you all,"

"As long as he's not destroying our lives I'm completely fine with it," Bonnie joked.
"So, I was thinking we could have a girls night tonight, you in?" Elena questioned. "I just really need time with my best friends and sister,"
"Of course I'm in! I feel like we haven't been able to all hang out with each other in a while," Audrey answered. "I miss you guys!"
"Alright then it's settled!" Caroline cheered happily linking arms with Audrey and Bonnie. Elena linked her arms through Bonnie's and together the four of them began walking to class.
"Are we doing this at the Salvatore residence?" Audrey questioned.
"Yeah, since I live there now too it's partly my house, so why not?" Elena laughed.
-
By the time Audrey had reached the Salvatore house, the three girls had already began drinking. "Little sis!" Elena cheered happily, before speeding over to her sister. She embraced her tightly and giggled as she almost stumbled over.
"You're drunk," Audrey laughed hugging her sister back.
"So what if I am, you just need to catch up," Elena giggled before pouring her sister a glass of the last of the champagne. Elena then sped to the dinning room to grab another bottle before returning back to her friends. Everyone cheered her on and once she reached her friends again they all embraced each other before falling onto the couch. They all laughed wildly before getting off each other and standing up again.
"I don't know how I did it, but I somehow didn't spill my drink," Audrey laughed as she raised her glass in the air. Everyone cheered again.
"Oooh can we please go snoop around?" Caroline questioned with a smirk.
"As much fun as that sounds, I promised Damon I wouldn't. But I can show you guys his ridiculous bathroom. It's massive," Elena smiled before speeding to the staircase. "Come on!" Caroline, Audrey, and Bonnie all gave each other a look before following Elena. Once they reached Damon's bathroom Elena was already sitting in the empty tub. The three girls all sat on the edge of the tub laughing at each other for being drunk. Audrey, however, was completely sober. The thought of drinking made her nauseous for some reason so she stuck to drinking water.
"Check this out, vamp-speed video," Bonnie smiled showing Elena the video she just took of her running around downstairs.
"I look like superman, watch this," Elena laughed before pausing the video as she's running. She turned the phone to show all of her friends. "This year's Christmas card," Audrey laughed at the idea. "Being a vampire is so weird. Oh my god, I love this bathtub. Why don't we come and hang out here more often?" Elena rambled.
"I'll tell you why. Cooties. Think of all the germ-ridden skanks, that Damon has lured into his den of enequity," Caroline giggled while taking a sip of her drink. Elena shot her an unamused glance along with Bonnie. Audrey was the only one who found her joke funny. "Okay, I'm sorry. I've been good all night. I am stopping now,"
"No, don't stop on my account. Rip away. I mean, it's only Damon, right?" Elena snapped back defensively.
"Whoa Elena, it was a joke," Audrey tried to reason.
"Well say what you want about Ripper Stefan, but at least he wasn't a man slut," Caroline jibbed.
"Come on," Bonnie groaned at her friends.
"So, what exactly was it about him that made you jump right into bed with him as soon as you met him?" Elena argued.

"I didn't know what a sociopathic narcissist he was," Caroline defended.
"He's always been there for me when I needed him," Elena said as she crossed her arms across her chest.
"Yeah, because he's hoping you'll sleep with him," Caroline scoffed.
"Well, maybe I did," Elena replied.
"You did what!?" Caroline shouted.
"You didn't," Bonnie gasped.
"Called it!" Audrey cheered.
"Yeah, I did. Look, I know you two have issues with him, but I'm happy, and I wanted to spend tonight with my best friends so that I could tell them about it," Elena said before getting out of the bathtub and exiting the room. Bonnie and Caroline still looked shocked.
"Oh come on, you really didn't see that coming?" Audrey asked the two of them. "The moment Elena broke up with Stefan for Damon I knew it was gonna happen,"
"Still! Already they're sleeping together?" Caroline asked raising an eyebrow.
"It doesn't matter, she's right. She's our friend and we should support her," Bonnie sighed standing up to follow after Elena. Caroline and Audrey followed too but once they all reached downstairs they found Elena cleaning up from their partying. "Elena, come on,"
"Party's over. You guys need to leave," Elena huffed out angrily.
"Really? Don't go throwing a fit. They're just looking out for you," Audrey said with annoyance. Elena stopped what she was doing and turned to face her friends.
"Do you think it makes me happy that they hate him? I get it. His track record has been kind of spotty, but I don't hate him. I can't he's- I think I'm falling in love with him," Elena stuttered.
"Ugh, you're not falling in love with him, Elena. You're sired to him!" Caroline shouted finally getting fed up. Audrey, Bonnie, and Elena all looked at the blonde with shock. Caroline realized what she said and looked down in shame.
"What?" Bonnie questioned.
"What are you talking about?" Elena asked.
"I-I look, I'm sorry that it came out like that, but it's true. Damon's blood turned you. You couldn't feed from animals or blood bags because he told you so. Then he suggested that you try again with blood bags and suddenly...," Caroline trailed off hoping she'd catch on.
"Wow, this makes total sense! No wonder you jumped onto team Damon so quickly," Audrey pointed out.
"No. There's no way, I...," Elena shook her head and took a step back.
"Are you sure?" Bonnie asked Caroline.
"Yeah. Ask Stefan about it. He can explain it better than I can," Caroline sighed.
"You talked to Stefan about this?" Elena asked angrily.
"It's not your fault, Elena. Okay. Damon took advantage of you," Caroline cooed but it only caused Elena's blood to start boiling.
"God and what is so wrong with Damon!? Audrey can shack up with Klaus and everyone's fine with it but the minute I decide I want someone else I'm a bad person?!" Elena shouted.
"Why are you dragging me into this?! Besides you know I had no choice in being Klaus's soulmate!" Audrey defended.
"And? If I'm supposedly sired to Damon than I had no choice either," Elena accused.
"Being Damon's sired little bitch is completely different than being linked to someone's soul!" Audrey snapped finally over her sister's attitude.
"Okay you need to leave," Elena growled. Audrey was taken back by her, as were Caroline and Bonnie. "Now!" She spat as she stormed to the front door.
"Elena!" Bonnie said.
"I said leave," Elena said throwing the door open. On the front porch stood Adrian and Kimberly, two hybrids Tyler had been helping to unsire.
"Hello girls," Kimberly smirked. Before anyone could react, Kimberly was speeding into the house throwing Elena to the nearest wall. She spotted Caroline and went after her, grabbing her by the throat. Adrian went after Elena, pinning her against the wall by her throat. Bonnie began to chant a spell and the lights started to flicker. "Stop!" Bonnie looked at Kimberly and saw her eyes had turned yellow. "One bite from a hybrid and she's dead, remember?" Bonnie stopped the spell and looked worriedly at Caroline. Adrian threw Elena across the room towards Bonnie and Audrey. They both ran to help her but when they looked up they saw Kimberly and Adrian were gone, as well as Caroline.
"Caroline!" Audrey screamed racing to the open door.
-
While Bonnie worked on a locator spell, Tyler took Audrey and Elena outside of town and into the woods. Elena glanced at her phone as a message from Bonnie popped up. "No luck on the locator spell,"
"They've got to be here. They're not dumb enough to risk getting caught by Klaus in town," Tyler assured.
"Well, what do they want with Caroline?" Audrey asked.
"Kim is trying to prove that she's the Alpha. If I can make her submit, the pack will fall in line and we can finally get them free of Klaus. You'd think they'd play along with how much they hate him," Tyler scoffed with annoyance.
"But Adrian doesn't, does he? I mean he's still sired to Klaus," Elena said with confusion.
"Being sired doesn't mean you feel differently about someone. I hated Klaus but I still did everything he said. The bond affects how you act, not how you feel," Tyler explained as he continued his stride to find his girlfriend. Elena shot Audrey a look who in return rolled her eyes. A piercing scream ripped through the air and instantly they all knew it was their friend. "Caroline!" Tyler shouted taking off in a sprint. The Gilbert sister's followed closely behind until they reached an abandoned farm. As they ran inside Kimberly broke Caroline's wrists.
"Stop! Stop it, Kim!" Tyler screamed. "Caroline's with us, all right?! We're all on the same team,"
"She's on your team, not mine," Kimberly growled. The rest of the hybrids Tyler had been helping entered the barn and restrained the group of friends. Kimberly smirked and cracked Caroline's leg.
"Stop it! Stop!" Audrey screamed viciously trying to break free from the hybrid holding her back.
"Ease up, Kim. Klaus won't like this," Adrian stated.
"That's a very good point. Do you think he'll like this?" Kimberly asked as she picked up a stake. She showed it to all the hybrids before pointing it at Caroline's heart.
"Kim! Don't do it! I swear to God!" Tyler roared trying his hardest to free himself.
"No wait! Stop! If you really want to hit Klaus where it hurts, then torture me! I'm his soulmate, the love of his life. I mean more to him than anything else," Audrey cried hoping it would work. Kim looked back at her and lowered the stake. She walked slowly over to Audrey before grabbing her by the throat. She squeezed ready to kill her when Tyler broke free and ran towards Kim, shoving his hand into her chest and grabbing her hear. She screamed in pain. The other hybrids watching stepped forward.
"Stay back! I'll tip her heart out right now!" Tyler threatened. They all stopped moving and continued to watch. Tyler looked Kim right in the eyes before saying "Kim put you all at risk today, but I'm not gonna hurt her. I'm not Klaus. I don't kill and torture my own friends to get what I want. Now, we broke the sire bond, but if you want to be free we have to work together! No one will step out of line. Now, you're either with me or against me. Submit. Submit or die!" Tyler screamed clenching her heart tighter. Kim fell to her knees bringing Tyler with her.
She looked up at him weakly. "I'm...I'm sorry," Tyler removed his hand from her chest and watched as all the other hybrids fell to their knees, bowing their heads with respect. Audrey watched with amazement as Tyler became the Alpha. A part of her felt like she was betraying Klaus by being there. She knew how much he loved having power and control yet she knew how out of control he could get.

Audrey slowly walked up the stairs to her house tired from all that had happened today. Caroline offered her a ride to the Salvatore house but Audrey declined, not wanting to see her sister quite yet. Just as she was about to unlock the door Klaus grabbed her waist and twirled her around to face him. She laughed wildly, her heart swirling with love from the sudden gesture.
"And where have you been today, love?" Klaus smiled leaning down to peck her lips.
"Caught in Elena's drama what's new? Oh, I found out she's sired to Damon today. Never thought that could actually happen," She stated casually causing Klaus to smirk.
"I could have told you that a long time ago. I saw the signs as soon as you told me she couldn't keep any blood down unless it was from the vein," Klaus said in a teasing voice.
"And you didn't think to tell me because?" Audrey challenged raising an eyebrow.
"What would be the fun in that, love? It was so amusing watching you figure it out on your own," Klaus snickered. Audrey tried to hide her smile but she couldn't when he looked at her like that.
"I've missed you today," She sighed.
"As did I," He sighed back. Slowly a mischeviois smile made its way to his lips. "Did you already tell Jeremy you weren't going to be home tonight?"
"Uh yeah I think so, why?" She questioned curiously. Before she knew it Klaus hauled her into his arms. "Ah! Klaus!" She laughed loudly.
"I'm sorry love, did you say something?" He teased before speeding off to his mansion. Once there he set her down before grabbing her hand and leading her into the entertainment room. Candles were lit all along the room while music softly played. The massive tv screen that covered all of the back wall was on but no movie was playing yet. "I know how much you love those sappy love movies so we can either watch those or listen to music all night. I'd rather listen to music if I'm being honest but I guess I'll watch those movies if you really want to," Audrey didn't know what to say. She felt tears prickle her eyes. "Oh no what's wrong darling? Have I done something wrong?"
"No! No, this is so perfect. Thank you so much," She laughed while wiping away her tears. "I don't know why I'm even crying.
"I can fix that," He smirked before pulling her close.
"Oh yeah how?" She teased matching his smirk. He leaned down and kissed her hard. She immediately felt heat explode inside her.
"Screw the movies or music I just want you, right now," Audrey moaned pulling away to breathe.
"Anything for you sweetheart," Klaus said in a voice so low it made Audrey shiver. Before she knew it she was laying on one of the couches in the room with her close quickly flying off.

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
