Audrey had just stepped into school when she ran into someone. She was about to apologize but when she saw who it was she stopped. Instead she narrowed her eyes and continued walking. "Ouch, not even a hello?" Rebekah sneered.

"I only say hello to my friends, and last I checked we aren't anymore," Audrey spat back.

"Really? You're still mad over that?" Rebekah asked, following the human.

"You almost killed me and got my sister killed, Rebekah. Of course I'm still mad at you!" Audrey answered as she stopped at her locker.

"We're going to be sisters someday too so by default you should have forgiven me by now," Rebekah pouted. "I would have forgiven you by now,"

"Oh right because you Mikaelson's are so forgiving?" Audrey laughed sarcastically. "So does that mean you and Klaus made up?"

"No," Rebekah frowned. "I'll never forgive him this time. He's a ruthless, pathetic, bastard and I want nothing more than to see a dagar in his bloody body,"

"See, exactly my point," Audrey mumbled shutting her locker. "You can't expect me to be all buddy buddy with you after all the shit you've pulled,"

"Audrey, you're looking at this all wrong," Rebekah insisted. "Just please come to my party. I promise it will be worth it," Rebekah handed the human a flyer with the details of a party on it.

"Anti-Curfew party?" Audrey read aloud.

"Starts at 5th period ends whenever," Rebekah smirked.

"You're so theatrical," Audrey snickered before turning to walk away.

"I hope that means you're coming!" Rebekah called after the human. Audrey shook her head and made her way to first period.

-

Second period had just began when Audrey got a text from Caroline asking her to come outside immediately. Without hesitation, Audrey stood from her desk and grabbed her backpack. "Excuse me, where do you think you're going Miss Gilbert?" Mrs. Shepherd asked with a pointed look.

"Uh-," Audrey replied as she glanced around the room to see all eyes on her. "I-I just can't be here. I thought I was ready to come back to school but because of everything that's happened I-,"

"Very well, you may go. Just stop by the office before you leave," Mrs. Shepherd said quickly cutting the girl off. Maybe it was selfish of Audrey to use the council's death as a 'get out of class free card', but at the moment she couldn't find it in her to care. As she walked outside she saw Caroline and Stefan sitting at a table while Elena paced in front of them furiously.

"Whoa. What's going on?" She asked as she approached everyone.

"I'm going insane Audrey. I want to kill her, that's how angry I am," Elena said frantically.

"What? Kill who?" Audrey asked with confusion.

"Rebekah the psycho barbie," Caroline chirped in. Audrey glanced at her friend and cocked an eyebrow at her. "It was a valiant first day effort. No one will judge you if you want to go home," Caroline said to Elena.

"I don't want to go home. I want to take the white oak stake and kill her. That's how mad I am. She made me murderous!" Elena shouted angrily.

"How about we just leave the murdering to Damon?" Stefan joked trying to ease the tension. He stood from the table and made his way over to his girlfriend.

"And-and then do what? Ignore her to death?" Elena asked with disbelief.

"Look, she's trying to make herself feel better. She knows that everybody hates her, so she's trying to hate harder," Stefan sighed, pushing back Elena's hair. "Tell you what, let's just skip the rest of the day. Go have some fun. I feel like this day is severely lacking in fun," Elena glanced at her sister who gave her a smile.

"Yeah. Okay fine," She sighed with defeat. Stefan smiled happily and wrapped an arm around her. "Then, we'll go to her party and show her that she can't intimidate me. I just have to go home and change first," Elena moved out of Stefan's arms and waves goodbye to her friend and sister before leaving.

"Does she seem a little off balance to you guys?" Caroline asked.

"Yeah, she's channeling all her emotions into rage. It makes her feel like she has purpose. I used to do that too when I was you know..," Stefan trailed off.

"The Ripper you?" Audrey finished for him. Stefan nodded.

"Yeah. She needs to come to terms with it, confront it, let it in, before she can let it go," Stefan explained.

"You're good at this, you know that? You saved my vampire life, now you're saving hers," Caroline smiled as she stood from the table. Together the trio began to leave school.

"You should write a book. Go on The View," Audrey giggled.

"Hmm," Stefan hummed as if he was thinking about it. The trio laughed and walked to their cars.

"Care, what are you going to do for the rest of the day?" Audrey asked as she walked to her car which was right next to her best friend's.

"I was gonna go to Tyler's and hang out with him," Caroline winked. "What about you? Are you gonna go get freaky with a certain hybrid?"

"I wish. He's away doing 'business'," Audrey pouted. "It's ridiculous how much I miss him,"

"Are you sure you miss him and not the sex?" Caroline teased playfully.

"Can I miss both?" Audrey played along. Caroline rolled her eyes at her best friend and smirked.

"That good, huh?" Caroline asked. Audrey blushed but nodded.

"You have no idea, Care. I know I don't have anyone to compare him to, but holy shit. If I had known what I was missing out on I would've hopped on that way sooner!" Audrey confessed. Caroline began to laugh hysterically and clutched her car for support. "What? It's true!"

"Who are you and what have you done with my innocent little Audrey Gilbert?" Caroline laughed.

"I'm not so innocent anymore," Audrey giggled. "Well, you go have fun with your boyfriend,"

"Oh I will! Have fun pining over yours!" Caroline said as she got into her car. Audrey shook her head and got into her own car as well. As she drove home she thought about everything that has happened recently. All of the drama, all of the pain. Audrey wanted an escape from it all. She glanced over at the flyer she had took from Rebekah and sighed. A little party never killed nobody.

-

The party was in full swing when Audrey arrived. Deciding she didn't want to third wheel Elena and Stefan, she went by herself. It was your typical high school party with kegs and all. "I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away," A voice boasted. Audrey rolled her eyes and turned to find the blonde original.

"Please, I didn't come here for you," Audrey scoffed.

"Oh really? Then why did you come?" Rebekah smirked. Audrey grabbed a cup and began to pour bourbon into it.

"It's a high school party, I'm a high schooler. Do the math," She replied before turning around and walking away. As she ventured through the house she eventually ran into her sister and Stefan. "The party has arrived!"

"Hey," Elena laughed as she hugged her younger sister. "Are you a little boozy?"

"No but I'm getting there!" Audrey laughed. "You, my dear sister, need a drink. Let's go get you one," Audrey looped her arm through her sister's and pulled her into the kitchen. As they stepped into the room they saw April Young behind the counter.

"Elena! Audrey! Thank god, I know someone," April sighed with relief. The two sisters shared a smile and walked over to the girl.

"I'm glad you came," Elena said grabbing two cups off the counter. "Want a drink?"

"You know you used to read me bedtime stories," April giggled.

"And now, I'm giving you beer. Sounds about right," Elena laughed handing April her drink.

"Mmm, if my dad could see me now," April sighed taking a swig.

"How are you doing with everything?" Audrey asked the young girl.

"I'm trudging through my denial phase. Dreaming up conspiracy theories," April admitted. "My first weekend home from boarding school, my dad smelled cigarette smoke on my clothes before I even walked in the door. He would have noticed a gas leak in the house,"

"So you don't think it was an accident?" Elena questioned.

"I know there's no investigation, that everyone's calling it an accident. But, the shooting at the church? It just feels like...-," April trailed off.

"Like something wicked this way comes? I know, right? It's like this town is cursed or something," Rebekah finished for her as she stepped into the room. Elena immediately tensed up.

"April, why don't you go look around the house, and we'll find you later," Audrey suggested.

"Oh okay," April frowned but walked away.

"Did I forget to uninvite you, Elena?" Rebekah smirked.

"Did you blow up her dad's house to get revenge on the council?" Elena growled furiously.

"I don't give a damn about some dodgy, middle aged Council," Rebekah scoffed. "You come into my house, throw around false accusations and then you have the nerve to drink my beer?" Rebekah quickly takes the cup from Elena's hand and smirks as she takes a sip of the beer. Elena and Audrey both hear a sizzling sound and look down to see Elena's hand burning in the sunlight.

"My ring!" Elena gasped before quickly running to a dark corner. "Give it back!"

"Get it yourself," Rebekah said as she dropped the ring down the kitchen sink drain.

"Rebekah, what the hell is wrong with you!" Audrey shouted running towards the sink. The human shoves the Original out of the way and pushes her hand down the sink to retrieve her sister's daylight ring. Rebekah rolls her eyes and leaves the room. Audrey luckily grabs the ring before it's gone and hands it back to her sister. Once her sister has her ring back Audrey goes after Rebekah. She finds the blonde vampire outside and immediately walks up to her. "This childish jealousy you have for my sister needs to stop,"

"What on earth are you talking about?" Rebekah sneered.

"I know you, Rebekah. You're jealous because Elena has a life that you wanted. Get the hell over it and leave her the fuck alone. You want to be friends with me again? Then stay away from Elena," Audrey growled. Rebekah glared at the human but didn't come up with a reply. Audrey rolled her eyes and turned to walk away. She walked out to her car and drove away from the party. Why did she even come here in the first place? Deciding she had enough of today she drove home. As she pulled up to her house, Audrey hoped her little brother was home. Jeremy always put her in a good mood. When she didn't see his car she sighed with disappointment. She walked into her house and collapsed on the living room couch. She wanted nothing more then for the day to be over with. A hour of peace and quiet had passed before Audrey's phone began to ring, disrupting that peace. "Hello?"

"Audrey, I need to come to my house as quick as possible," Stefan said immediately getting Audrey's attention.

"Why? What's wrong?" Audrey asked with panic.

"It's Elena. She needs your help," Stefan answered. Audrey's heart dropped and she grabbed her car keys.

"I'll be there in a few minutes," She said before hanging up.

-

"What's wrong?" Audrey questioned stepping into Stefan's bedroom. Elena was laying on his bed looking pale and sick.

"That vampire hunter must've put wolf venom in the beer tonight. Elena drank some and now she's poisoned," Stefan explained. "We need you to call Klaus. I've tried but I doubt he'll listen to me,"

"Of course! I'll call him now," Audrey agreed pulling out her phone. She dialed her soulmate's number and waited for him to answer his phone.

"Hello love, I've missed your voice," He answered the phone sweetly.

"And I've missed yours but enough with the flirting I need your help," Audrey said quickly.

"Is this about your sister?" Klaus questioned.

"Yeah, how did you-," Audrey began but a whooshing sound behind her cut her off.

"Because Stefan here has already informed me," Klaus said hanging up his phone. "Also, for future reference, one voicemail is just as effective as nine," Stefan rolled his eyes but didn't say anything. Elena groaned on the bed capturing everyone's attention. "What's wrong, love?"

"She has werewolf venom in her system. You're the only one that can heal her, Klaus. Please," Stefan pleaded.

"And what would you have done if I were no longer here? Hm? Let's play that game for a moment, shall we?" Klaus taunted.

"Are you serious?" Audrey asked in shock. "My sister is dying,"

"I know this love. Which is why I'm here, to help," Klaus smirked walking towards the bed. He bit into his wrist and held it for Elena to drink. Slowly, she bites into his wrist and drinks his blood. When she's had enough he pulls away and turns back to his soulmate. "Happy?"

"Ecstatic," She smiled before walking into his arms. The moment they embraced she felt at ease. This calmness she felt whenever she was with Klaus was addicting. She no longer felt stressed or frustrated and it was relieving. "I'm so happy you're here,"

"Me too. Spending majority of the day with Damon was exhausting," Klaus chuckled. Audrey instantly tensed and pulled back from him.

"You mean to tell me, you've been back in town all day and didn't bother telling me?" Audrey questioned angrily. Klaus gulped.

"I was going to tell you love, but I've been distracted all day," He said making excuses.

"Are you kidding? You are so unbelievable!" Audrey fumed before turning around and storming away.

"Love, please-," Klaus began.

"No, I've been dealing with bullshit drama the past two days and all I wanted was my soulmate to come home and comfort me!" She growled. "You couldn't of, oh I don't know, let me know you were back in town? It's not that hard to make a phone call, Klaus!"

"Audrey, please listen to me," Klaus tried to reason but she was through with his excuses for the day.

"No. I'm gonna go home, take a nice long bath, and go to bed," Audrey said as she opened the front door. "Maybe you can think of a way to make this up to me when you're laying in your bed alone tonight," With that she slammed the door shut. Klaus stood frozen with shock. No one had ever talked to him that way and lived. He wasn't angry at his soulmate because he knew why she was upset, he was more confused on how he should make it up to her.

"Trouble in paradise?" Stefan gloated with a smirk. Klaus frowned and sped at him grabbing the vampire by the throat.

"Shut it," He growled before breaking Stefan's neck. He dropped his body to the floor and exited the Salvatore residence.
