《Sinful |Klaus Mikaelson||》We All Fall Down

When Audrey woke up in the morning her eyes were swollen from crying all night and her head was pounding from all of the shots she took to forget about Alaric dying. To say she felt like shit was an understatement. After a long shower she dragged herself downstairs, but stopped when she passed Alaric's old room. Elena and Jeremy were covering everything to start painting. "I still can't believe he's really gone now," Audrey said as she leaned against the door frame.

"I know, me neither. We just have to keep moving forward though," Elena said softly. "It's what he'd want,"

"It's nothing new either," Audrey smiled before turning to continue her way down to the kitchen. On her way down she passed Stefan walking up. "Morning,"

"Morning," He replied. No other words were exchanged between the two, but Audrey didn't mind. She didn't want to deal with Stefan anyways. After pouring herself a bowl of cereal, Audrey sat down to enjoy her breakfast in peace. It lasted for about a minute before her little brother storming down the stairs ruined it.

"Whoa! Jer, what's wrong?" Audrey asked as Jeremy stomped past her.

"For one fucking day I want no vampires or werewolves or hybrids barging in and bringing all their bullshit with them. I want a day with no supernatural assholes ruining it," Jeremy angrily stated before leaving the house.

"Okay then," Audrey muttered to herself. Not too long later Stefan came downstairs. "Why is baby brother already pissed off?"

"Because I'm here and apparently he's not okay with that," Stefan sighed.

"Yeah I could tell," Audrey said as she finished her breakfast.

"What are your plans for the day?" Stefan asked awkwardly, as he sat beside her at the counter.

"I don't know. Klaus will probably kidnap me at some point today," Audrey said. "Why?"

"I was just asking," Stefan smiled, but deep down he was still somewhat mad that innocent Audrey was with big bad Klaus. When the doorbell rang Audrey was quick to jump up and answer it.

"I can't believe that freak is already-," She cut herself off when she saw who was on the other side of the door. Damon was holding Bonnie by the arm with an angry expression on his face. Dry blood covered her neck and she wore a guilty look.

"We have a problem," Damon muttered.

-

"What do you mean he turned?! I thought you were standing guard!" Stefan shouted at his older brother.

"Don't blame me! Blame Bonnie the walking blood bank. She fed him," Damon defended. Bonnie rolled her eyes at him.

"I didn't know what I was doing, okay? The witches told me to do it, they wanted him to turn," She said sternly.

"So where's the stake now?" Stefan asked suddenly.

"Oh, you mean the white oak one? The one that can kill an Original and wipe out an entire line of vampires? We don't know," Damon answered sarcastically. Audrey was in shock still and had no idea what to say. Alaric was still alive but he was evil?

"If you are so upset with me, why did you feed me your blood to save my life?" Bonnie shot back at Damon.

"Because I do stupid things, Bonnie. I do things, like let my friend die with dignity when I should have just killed him," Damon said shaking his head.

"Alright, so how do we kill him now?" Stefan questioned the witch.

"I've been trying to figure that out. A witch can't truly make an immortal creature, there is always a way to undo a spell," Bonnie answered. "Problem is, I have no idea what it is," Everyone got quiet for a moment and it was then that Damon took notice at how pale Audrey looked.

"Little bird, are you okay?" He asked her.

"If Alaric is going to try and kill all the Originals, then who do you think he'll go after first? I'm the easiest target when it comes to killing Klaus. All he'd have to do is lure me away and I'm a goner," Audrey answered, tears welling in her eyes.

"I'm not going to let that happen babe, okay?" Damon assured but even he didn't sound completely convincing. Audrey opened her mouth to reply but Jeremy storming into the house cut her off.

"Jer," Audrey said standing up quickly. She made her way over to her little brother and embraced him.

"What's wrong?" Jeremy asked his sister worriedly.

"Alaric turned last night and he's going to try and kill everyone," Damon answered him.

"What?!" Jeremy shouted. He looked down at his sister and realized that if Klaus died so would she. He tightened his hold on her. "We have to stop him. Even if it means killing him," Everyone nodded their heads solemnly. Once Audrey pulled away from Jeremy she went upstairs to change. She wanted to forget everything that had happen and just be happy for once. Why was it so hard for her and the people she loves to be happy? Jeremy was pacing downstairs when the doorbell rang. He answered it to see Klaus on the other side and frowned. "What the hell do you want?"

"Now is that any way to treat a guest?" Klaus said sarcastically. Stefan, hearing Klaus's voice, walked up behind Jeremy.

"What are you doing here, Klaus?" Stefan asked.

"Well, for starters, young Jeremy here could show some manners and invite me inside," Klaus smirked. Damon walked over to the door too and pushed Jeremy behind him.

"Why don't you go up to your room," Stefan suggested to the youngest Gilbert.

"Now," Damon said after Jeremy made no movement. Eventually, he sighed and did as told.

"Hm, poor lad. Loses one questionable father figure only to be replaced by the likes of the two of you," Klaus said with an eye roll.

"Yeah, about that. Something happened," Damon began.

"Oh, I know all about my mother's invulnerable little creation and that's why I'm here. I'm leaving town, just need to pick up a few road trip necessities. Spare tire, flashlight, soulmate, doppelgänger," Klaus listed off with a grin.

"Can't help you there," Damon said. He clasped Stefan's shoulder and pulled him back inside the house before slamming the door shut. Damon walked back into the living room while Stefan went for the stairs.

"Elena! Audrey!" He called out. He raced up the stairs and into Alaric's old room only to see Jeremy and no Elena. "Where's Elena?"

"I don't know. She was here a few minutes ago," Jeremy answered. Stefan sighed and ran back downstairs.

"Where is she?" Damon asked when he saw his brother.

"She's gone," Stefan answered.

"What do you mean she's not here? Where did she go?" Damon shouted. "Where's Audrey?"

"Right here, Evil Spawn," Audrey chuckled as she walked down the stairs. "What's going on?" Damon glanced at Stefan before walking over to the window.

"Klaus is here and he wants in," Damon mumbled.

"So let him in," Audrey sighed going for the front door. Damon sped over and quickly stopped her. "What's the big deal? He probably just came over for me,"

"He's leaving town and plans on taking you and Elena with him," Damon snapped at her. Audrey's eyes widened and she looked out the window.

"What?" She asked. She saw Klaus pacing the street with a newspaper in his hand. "Duck!" She shouted when she saw him pull his arm back. Damon grabbed Audrey and ducked as the newspaper came flying through the window. "Holy shit!"

"Hate to break it to you babe, but your boyfriend is a dick," Damon groaned beyond annoyed.

"Let me talk to him," Audrey said standing up.

"We can't let you invite him in, Audrey," Stefan reasoned.

"I think you're probably gonna want to let me in!" Klaus yelled from outside. Audrey instantly felt their pull at the sound of his voice. She wanted nothing more than to run outside and jump into his arms. Damon saw her inch towards the door and immediately grabbed her. Jeremy came running downstairs after hearing the window break and frowned with confusion at everyone.

"Elena's car is gone," Stefan announced.

"Why wouldn't she tell anyone where she's going?" Bonnie asked. Before anyone could answer the front door burst open and a soccer ball came flying into the house. Everyone looked to the door to see Klaus standing there with two fence pickets in his hands. He hurls one of the pickets into the house, narrowly missing Damon.

"Get down!" Stefan shouted, pulling Audrey, Jeremy, and Bonnie down.

"Missed me!" Damon taunted, pulling the picket out of the wall. He threw it back at Klaus but missed him. Klaus broke the other picket he was holding in half and threw them at Damon, missing him again.

"Klaus!" Audrey screamed at her soulmate. Klaus immediately stopped and looked at her. "What the hell!" She stood up and stormed over to the door.

"Audrey love, I didn't know you were home," Klaus smiled, ignoring the fact that she was pissed.

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" She growled. Klaus was about to answer her but Stefan cut him off.

"Alaric just called. He has Elena and Caroline and won't let them go unless you turn yourself over to him, Klaus," Stefan explained quickly. Audrey's eyes widened and she looked at her soulmate with worry.

"Now I know you're not asking me to walk into a certain death," Klaus growled.

"I really wish we could, but unfortunately, if Alaric kills you there's a one in four chance we die too," Stefan sighed.

"I'll take those odds," Damon said as he walked out with the fence picket on his shoulder. Stefan and Audrey glared at the vampire.

"And there's a 100% chance of Audrey and Tyler dying," Stefan said to his brother. Audrey rolled her eyes at Damon and stepped out on the porch. She walked into Klaus's arms and buried her face in his chest for comfort.

"That's exactly why we're leaving town. Audrey needs protection and the only way she'll get it is if she's with me," Klaus snapped holding his soulmate closer to him.

"Klaus, what about Elena? She's my sister and Caroline is my best friend," Audrey said looking up at him with puppy dog eyes. "Please," Klaus looked at her with an uneasy look and thought about what she was asking of him.

"Why don't we figure out a way to put Alaric down?" Stefan suggested. Klaus frowned but nodded. Stefan began to pace and think of ways to kill Alaric. "We could try and lure him out,"

"What would we say to lure him out? He has the leverage here," Damon said, shooting down his idea.

"Okay, how about Damon sneaks in and distracts Alaric, while Stefan grabs Elena and carries her to safety?" Klaus suggested.

"Huh, that's a great idea. What's to stop me from getting killed instantly?" Damon questioned sarcastically.

"Nothing," Klaus smirked.

"Okay, we're getting nowhere," Audrey chimed in.

"I might have an idea," Bonnie said walking out on the porch. "My mom used a desiccation spell on Mikael that immobilized him for over 15 years. If I can get it, I might be able to use it on Alaric,"

"If and might? Your words inspire such confidence," Klaus remarked with a dramatic eye roll.

"I'll get it. But even with the spell, we'll need a lot of vampire muscle to take him down, including yours," Bonnie said, glaring at the hybrid. Klaus groaned with annoyance but knew he had to help them.

"Just so we're clear, the sun sets in about eight hours. If we don't succeed before then, Elena will be dead, Audrey and I will be gone, and the rest of you will be left to fend for yourselves," Klaus said sternly.

-

"Please be safe," Audrey said to Klaus as they stood in the entryway of his mansion. "It would suck if both of us die tonight because you screw up,"

"Love, I promise I'll be fine. By the end of the night, Alaric will be dead, Elena and Caroline will be saved, and you and I can run off into the sunset together," Klaus smiled. Audrey nodded but still looked unconvinced. Klaus leaned his forehead against hers and held her close. "The more you worry, the harder this will be,"

"I know, I just...don't die and don't let anyone else die either," Audrey said softly. She pulled her forehead away from his and pressed her lips against his. Heated sparks flared between them and she noticed that they had begun to get worse over the past few weeks. Klaus found himself losing control. He pushed her against the nearest wall and devoured her lips. Her hands were tugging at his hair, causing a growl to rumble from his chest. He was quickly forgetting about the threat Alaric posed and only focused on his mate. Their kisses had never felt like this and he didn't know why. Klaus ran his hands down the back of her thighs and quickly lifted her into his arms. He tore his lips away from hers and moved them down her jaw and to her neck. She was so tempting. All he wanted to do was sink his fangs into her and get drunk off her blood. Maybe she could feed off him while he fed off of her. Audrey was so absorbed into him she didn't care that his teeth were dangerously close to her skin. A part of her wanted him to drink from her.

"What's taking you so-," Stefan's voice began, but he cut himself off when he saw the scene before him. He definitely chose the wrong time to look for Klaus. "Uh," Klaus growled but pulled back from his soulmate's neck. She was still panting and her whole body was flushed. Her eyes looked at him with pure desire. This bond was beginning to tighten it's reins on them.

"You Salvatore's always have impeccable timing," Klaus scoffed with annoyance. He slowly let Audrey down from his arms but she still kept close to him.

"We have to-um get going now," Stefan stuttered with embarrassment. Klaus nodded but still kept his eyes on Audrey.

"I'll be back tonight," He told her softly. "Do not leave this house, under any circumstances," She nodded slowly at him which cause him to smirk with pride. He kissed her intoxicating lips once more before leaving with Stefan. Audrey was still in a haze after he left. Her body was buzzing with electricity. She grazed her fingers along her swollen lips and sighed breathlessly.

"I think I'm in love with you," She whispered to herself.
