When Audrey walked into the Mystic Falls cemetery she immediately felt Esther's power radiating everywhere. She walked around aimlessly until she felt the power increasing as she got closer to the Salvatore tomb.

"You said you wanted to undo the evil that you created, but this...this is just as evil," Elena cried over Alaric's body.

"Alaric will never be what my children became. I have granted him enough power to complete his task. Then when the time is right, he will die," Esther explained like it was so casual.

"How if he's immortal?" Elena questioned while sniffling.

"All you need to know is that when this is over we will have rid the earth of vampires once and for all," Esther answered simply.

"Yeah, but you'll be killing the good along with the bad, you're no better than Klaus! What about my sister? You created her and now you're killing her for no reason," Elena wanted to scream but held it together.

"Am I not? I desire a world where you and your loved ones will not suffer at the hands of vampires, like your Aunt Jenna did," Esther sneered. "As for you sister. She will be unfortunate loss but sacrifices have to be made,"

"Fuck you!" Audrey shouted as she stepped out of the shadows. "Don't you dare use Jenna as an excuse for what you've done!"

"Audrey! Get out of here!" Elena screamed in panic.

"You may draw comfort in knowing that your aunt is not in the place that I was. She doesn't know the torment of the Other Side. Though made a vampire, she remained pure. She knows peace. Which is all any of us can hope for," Esther assured. Audrey walked over to Elena and crouched down on the floor with her sister. Elena immediately gripped her and pulled her into a hug. A noise outside caught Esther's attention so she slowly walked out of the tomb to be greeted by a crossbow and rifle.

"Don't move!" Matt shouted as he cocked the gun.

"Where's Elena and Audrey?" Jeremy asked. The familiar voices coming from outside the tomb drew Elena and Audrey out.

"Jeremy!" The two sisters shouted together.

"Let them go!" Jeremy growled.

"How foolish of you, to risk your lives in defense of those who will kill you. But if that is your choice," Esther raised her hands and used her powers to force Jeremy and Matt to point their weapons at each other.

"Matt! Matt drop your gun!" Jeremy shouted worriedly.

"I can't! I'm not controlling it!" Matt shouted back.

"Stop it!" Audrey screamed at Esther but the old witch ignored her. Before she could make them shoot, Alaric came up behind her and stabbed her. She fell to the ground instantly and Jeremy and Matt were given control of their bodies again.

"Oh my god! Where's my ring? Tell me what happened," Alaric said out of breath. Everyone shared a look before walking back inside the tomb and explaining to Alaric what happened. While Elena was giving Ric a play by play of what was going on Audrey's phone went off. It was Klaus calling her for the hundredth time but instead of ignoring it she answered.

"Hey," She greeted shakily.

"Are you safe?" He immediately asked.

"Yeah, I'm good. Esther's unconscious I think, I'm not totally sure. Oh, we're at the cemetery by the way," She explained nervously.

"I know. I'm on my way right now. I'll see you when I get there love," She didn't get to reply before he hung up the phone but when she turned around he was standing behind her. She knew he was mad at her but she didn't care. Seeing him made her whole world light up and before he knew she was jumping into his arms.

"I'm so sorry," She cried while burying her head into his neck. Klaus sighed softly and held Audrey to comfort her. "I should've listened to you,"

"It's alright, love," Klaus cooed. "I've got you," Elena, Jeremy, and Alaric all watched the couple from a good distance.

"I really hate him but I'm glad Audrey has someone like him to protect her. She's going to need it," Ric mumbled. Jeremy nodded his head in agreement.

"She's starting to change him too. I now see what she meant when she said that she represented his humanity," Elena added softly.

"I think Audrey could make anyone become a good person," Jeremy chuckled. "Remember how Damon used to be before Audrey forced him to be her friend? It took not even a month for him to become all protective and caring over her," The trio laughed at the memory and looked away from the hybrid and his soulmate. When Audrey pulled her head from his neck, Klaus wasted no time in attacking her lips. Knowing his soulmate could've been killed tonight was causing his heart to hammer in his chest. Audrey pulled away to breath and smiled up at the hybrid.

"That was nice," She said with a giggle. "But kissing you is always nice," Her fingers absentmindedly grazed his lips.

"I like kissing you too," Klaus said smiling. He wanted to say something else but it was nearly impossible for that word to come out. He pressed his forehead against hers and watched as her eyes closed, a smile still painted on her lips. "Let's go home," Her heart fluttered at his words. Home.

"I think I need to stay with Jer and Elena tonight," Audrey whispered. "Alaric isn't going to finish the transition," Tears welled in her eyes at the thought of another loved one dying but it was Ric's choice.

"Do you need me to stay?" Klaus asked quietly.

"Yes, but I don't think they'll want you to," She said before pulling away from him. "What are you going to do with Esther? Is she dead?"

"Hopefully, but you never know with my mother," Klaus said eyeing his mother's body. "I'll take her back to my house so I can keep an eye on her,"

"I really want this to be over with," Audrey mumbled. "I just want everything to be okay and all of us to be happy again,"

"I know, love," Klaus kissed her forehead comfortingly. He held her for what seemed like forever. When she pulled back she gave him a look. He knew she wanted to spend alone time with her family so he lifted his mother's body and left. Audrey let out a sigh once Klaus sped away and walked back over to her siblings. She stood beside Jeremy and wrapped an arm around him.

"Damon's here," He said softly.

"Does Klaus know about the stake?" Alaric asked.

"No, only that she tried to turn you into a weapon and failed," Audrey answered.

"What's going on?" Jeremy asked suddenly confused.

"Listen Jer, I'm not gonna complete the transition. My dark side was dangerous enough as a human. I can't be a vampire," Ric explained, but Jeremy didn't want to hear it.

"So, what we're just gonna lock you in here and let you die?" Jeremy looked to his sisters for backup. No one answered him. "No! No, we can't,"

"Listen, Jeremy. It's the right thing to do, okay? After everything that's happened, after all that I have done. Maybe I had it coming," Alaric said sorrowfully. Jeremy shook his head and turned to walk away.

"Hey, wait Jer," Audrey called out. "Alaric this isn't your fault," Jeremy stopped and turned back around.

"Please you guys, let's not make this any harder than it already is. You three should go. Damon's here. He'll make sure it'll all go down the right way," Ric said. Jeremy started walking away again and Ric went after him. "Hey, hey...,"

"Don't. Don't give me some crap speech about how I need to be the man of the house," Jeremy snapped.

"Okay, I won't," Ric smiled. He embraced the youngest Gilbert tightly before letting him go. Jeremy walked out of the tomb leaving Audrey and Elena. Tears were in both of their eyes.

"This is all my fault. You moved out, you gave me your ring back, you didn't want any part of this and I forced you to stay and take care of us," Elena cried.

"Don't do that, okay. Taking care of you two and Jeremy had been the closest I've ever come to the life I always wanted," Alaric said with tears now in his eyes too. He hugged Elena first. "You should go," He told her once she pulled away. She nodded and left leaving Audrey.

"I'm sorry too, Ric," She sniffled.

"Don't be," He said hugging her. "To be honest, I think I stayed around because you reminded me the most of Jenna. You both were too innocent and good. Never let go of that, Audrey. Never stop being a good person," She nodded and gripped him tighter. When they pulled away Ric walked with her out of the tomb. Elena, Jeremy, Matt, Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline, Meredith, and Tyler were all standing outside with candles lit. Alaric smiled at all of them and even let a few tears out before walking back into the tomb and closing the gate.

Matt put down three shot glasses and poured whiskey into all of them. Jeremy and Audrey each took one and held them up. Matt clinked his glass with theirs.

"To Mr. Saltzman," He said.

"Alaric," Jeremy and Audrey both said back. They all take down the shots and Matt pours another round.

Damon stood inside the tomb with a bottle of bourbon in his hand. Alaric had an off look on his face but he seemed peaceful. "Awe Ric,"

"Is this the part where you give me a dream? Rainbows and rolling green hills?" Ric teased.

"I was drunk when I told you that," Damon defended. Alaric let out a chuckle.

"Yeah and I told you I'd use it against you," Ric said with a smirk.

"Damn you," Damon said grinning back. "Sorry I killed you, twice," They both let out a loud laugh.

"So I have to actually die to get a real apology out of you?" Alaric asked.

"Drink," Damon said offering him the bottle.

"Actually I've been thinking about cutting back," A tear rolls down Alaric's cheek.

"Ha, yeah. This stuff will kill ya," Damon said before taking a swig of the bourbon. Another tear falls down Ric's cheek and he takes the bottle from Damon. He takes a long drink and calmed down once he felt the warmth spread through his body. Damon waited for Alaric to pass out and after he did he then waited for him to die. Once Alaric's breathing stopped Damon stepped out of the tomb. Bonnie is standing outside with a blank look on her face. "What are you doing here?" She ignored him and walks to the tomb. "Hey, Bonnie. What, are you sleepwalking or something?" Again no reply. "Bonnie?" Bonnie turns around, lifts her hand and suddenly Damon is on the ground clutching his head in pain. "No! Bonnie! No!" He's desperately screaming now but Bonnie continues on into the tomb. She grabs the white oak stake and stabs the palm of her hand. She holds hers hand over Alaric's mouth and slowly he begins to drink until he's waking up with vampire teeth. He bites into Bonnie's neck and throws her aside once he's done. He grabs the white oak stake she used and looks outside. An off setting smirk slowly appeared on his face.
