"Audrey?" Caroline cautiously asked. "Damon called and asked if you were still going to Denver with them," Audrey sniffled and nodded her head. She had been crying in Caroline's guest bedroom all night. Her heart was broken and the only person who could fix it was the person she despised the most. Klaus completely severed whatever trust she had for him. "Babe. This is breaking my heart,"

"I don't know what to do," Audrey whimpered.

"Well, right now you're getting on a plane to bring Jeremy home," Caroline stated happily. "Just keep thinking about Jer and I promise it will get better,"

"Yeah," Audrey sniffled. "You're right," Caroline helped her friend out of bed and got her to the shower. While Audrey was cleaning up, Caroline began to pack everything Audrey would need. When she was done, Caroline sighed and sat down on her guest bed. Her heart was breaking for her best friend. Not only did her soulmate turn out to be the dick everyone knew he was, but her own friends had turned against her. Caroline wished everything would go back to the way it was before vampires became known in Mystic Falls. When Audrey walked out of the bathroom she looked much better than before. Her eyes still held that sadness but it was almost unnoticeable. "Honestly, if Elena tried to get smart with me today I'm probably going to smack her," Caroline was surprised by her friend's little outburst but smiled happily once it subsided.

"I think she is finally coming around," Caroline laughed. "I heard her telling Bonnie yesterday that she was beginning to realize how big of a mistake she made for blaming you," Audrey nodded stiffly and sat beside Caroline on the bed. "Maybe this trip will be good for you two,"

"I don't know," Audrey sighed. "I think it's going to take more time for me to really forgive her,"

"I don't blame you," Caroline agreed. There was a moment of silence before Caroline's phone went off. "Look's like they're leaving now," She commented as she read Damon's text message. "Damon said they're coming to pick you up now,"

"I'm so not ready for this trip," Audrey groaned.

"It'll be fine, Aud. And if not just keep thinking of Jeremy," Caroline stated hoping it would comfort her friend. Audrey didn't say anything else before she grabbed all of her stuff and made her way to Caroline's living room.

The whole car ride to the airport was silent. No one said a word. Damon wanted to hear his little bird's voice so badly, but he knew she was still angry with him. He felt like complete shit for everything he'd done to her. She was, after all, his best friend. Elena was nervously biting her nails and tried to think of ways to apologize to her sister. How could she make up for being so unfair? While Damon and Elena silently worried themselves, Audrey sat in the back not thinking about either of the two. Her thoughts were filled with Klaus. Even though she was unbelievably mad at him she couldn't help but picture his smile. She thought of his soft lips and the way her body filled with tingles every time he was even near her. She rolled her eyes at herself and cursed her soulmate bond. When the trio reached the airport they still didn't speak to one another. When they reached the gate Damon finally spoke up.

"Little bird, I'd like to say that I'm truly sorry for what I've done to you over these past couple weeks. I had my head in my ass and thought my actions were justifiable. I understand if you are still mad at me and I'll give you your space, but I just wanted you to know so this whole trip isn't completely awkward," Damon apologized bluntly. He was always one for ripping off the band-aid.

"Thanks, I guess," Audrey replied slightly confused. She wasn't expecting such an outburst of an apology. Damon nodded and smiled to himself smugly. Elena was shocked at the simple response her sister gave. She expected something a little more tense. Audrey figured Damon would be the first to apologize he usually always is. Truthfully, she had been more mad at her sister then him anyways. As they boarded the plane Audrey took the window seat and Damon went to sit beside her but suddenly stopped. Elena was giving him a look that said "let me sit there" so that's what he did. Elena got the middle seat while Damon got the aisle seat. Audrey didn't care if her sister sat next to her, she didn't plan on talking to her.

"Audrey," Elena began after a moment. "Can...Can we talk?"

"About?" Audrey shout back with sass.

"I'm sorry," Elena sighed. "I'm so sorry for what I've done to you. For not telling you about Alaric, for blaming you about Klaus, and everything else. I shouldn't have acted the way I did," Audrey acted like she wasn't listening but she was. "I know you hate me, I hate me too. I said some hurtful things to you but you have to know that I didn't mean them. I said them because I was mad, and I know that isn't an excuse but...look I want my baby sister back, okay?" Elena had resorted to pleading now. Audrey blinked a few times and tried to understand all that her sister had just said. She let out a huge sigh and turned to face her sister and Damon. Honestly, she wanted all the fighting to stop. Especially now that her and Klaus were fighting too.

"I forgive you guys okay? I mean, don't get me wrong, you're both incredibly moronic for starting all of this crap in the first place, but I'm tired of this constant war. I don't want to fight anymore either," Audrey explained, cracking a small smile. Both Damon and Elena smiled back, their faces lighting up. "Just don't pull this shit again, alright?"

"I swear it, little bird," Damon smirked and winked. Audrey rolled her eyes but held her smile. After the tension was released, everyone seemed to relax. Audrey leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. Not only had she resolved her problems with Elena and Damon but she'd also get to see Jeremy today. Nothing could rain on her parade now.

Klaus was an utter mess. His hair was disheveled and he looked like he hadn't showered in days. Rebekah sneered with disgust at her older brother as she walked into the kitchen. "Seriously, Nik? You smell horrid!"

"Bekah's right. You need to at least shower, Niklaus. Audrey will be back home soon enough and then you two can work everything out," Elijah sighed with pity.

"You don't get!" Klaus spat angrily. "I've completely ruined things. She'll never forgive me!" Rebekah was taken back by her brother's outburst. She knew he had cared about Audrey already but she never would've figured it would be to this extent. She assumed he would be playing it off like he didn't care, but instead he was doing the complete opposite. This soulmate bond was really powerful.

"You're soulmates you idiot. Obviously, she'll forgive you eventually. You two are destined to be together remember?" Rebekah remarked with an eye roll.

"You didn't see how hurt she was Bekah," Klaus objected. He ran his hands through his hair nervously and sighed. Elijah was amused by his brother's pain. For once, Klaus felt sorry for his actions.

"Awe, look at you getting all soft for a human," Rebekah teased.

"That's enough, Rebekah. Don't you have a school to decorate?" Elijah asked sternly.

"Oh shit! I nearly forgot," Rebekah exclaimed as she strolled out of the room. Elijah turned back to look at his younger brother and instantly felt his heart sink.

"Stop beating yourself up, Niklaus. Rebekah was right, you and Audrey are destined for each other," Elijah tried comforting. Klaus just let out a groan and left the room.

"Why is he at the batting cages?" Audrey asked curiously as they pulled up to the park.

"Beats me," Damon muttered, shrugging his shoulders. After parking the car, the trio set out to retrieve the youngest Gilbert. As they approached the batting cage he was in, Damon smirked. "Next time we compel him, remind me to make him better at baseball," Damon stated, referring to Jeremy's horrible batting skills. Audrey rolled her eyes and nearly sprinted over to her younger brother.

"Hey Jer!" She called out happily, scaring him to death.

"Audrey?!" Jeremy asked with wide eyes. Audrey smiled excitedly and watched as he hurried out of the batting cage to hug his sister tightly. "What are you doing here?!"

"Hey Jer," Elena said as her and Damon walked over to the couple.

"Elena? Damon? What's wrong?" Jeremy immediately asked, his spirits deflating. Damon began explaining everything about the blood tie and how they need to find out which bloodline of vampires they come from. Jeremy shook his head as he walked out of the park.

"So you traveled across the country to get me to talk to a dead vampire?" Jeremy asked with confusion.

"Dead vampire is redundant, but yes," Damon answered.

"Well. I can't. I could talk to Anna and Vicki because I knew them. I've never even met Rose," Jeremy muttered. Audrey hugged his side and smiled up at him.

"We also came because we missed you baby brother," She laughed.

"What good is you dying and coming back to life if you can't talk to a ghost when I need you to?" Damon asked with defeat. Audrey smacked and glared at him.

"Rose spent a long time running from Klaus as well. She and Damon were close, so maybe we can use him as a connection," Elena explained, shooting a look at her sister at the mention of her soulmate.

"Fine, fine, but can we do this later? My friend just got here and yes, Damon, I actually have some. I'll call you when I'm done," Jeremy announced as he walked away. All three of them turned to see Kol walking over to them.

"Jer...," Audrey trailed off.

"Hey man," Jeremy greeted the Original.

"Damon, it's Kol!" Elena exclaimed in shock. Damon stepped forward but Kol hit him with a wooden baseball bat breaking it in half. Damon fell to the ground with a loud huff.

"What are you doing?!" Jeremy questioned bewildered.

"Jeremy get back! He's an Original!" Elena shouted at her brother.

"What?" Jeremy asked with hurt.

"No hard feelings, mate. But we're not buds," Kol sneered sarcastically. Audrey rolled her eyes and held her head in disappointment. She was already over with the day. Kol smirked and grabbed an aluminum bat.

"Jesus Christ Kol," Audrey muttered with a shake of the head.
