"I'm so bored," Audrey whined as she sat down on the couch in Klaus's art room. Klaus snickered and continued to paint a portrait of his soulmate. "Why don't you just ask me to model for you?" Klaus could feel his cheeks heat up at the blunt question.

"I didn't think you'd want to," Klaus admitted embarrassed. Audrey giggled and stood up from the couch. She walked over to her soulmate and stood behind him to observe his work. He got every detail about her down to a T.

"You're so good, Klaus," Audrey gasped breathlessly.

"God, I can't wait to hear that in a different context," Klaus sighed faking seriousness. Audrey rolled her eyes and smacked the back of his head.

"Perv," Audrey muttered. Klaus just chuckled and continued to paint. "Let's do something tonight,"

Klaus immediately froze. "What did you have in mind?" He prayed it had something to do with her in his bed. Once that thought crossed his mind he mentally slapped himself. He really was a perv, but going with no sex for two months now had taken a toll on the hybrid as pitiful as that is.

"We could go to the Grill," Audrey suggested. "I bet I can kick your immortal ass at pool," Klaus smirked and turned to face her.

"You're pretty confident for a girl challenging an one thousand year old hybrid," Klaus teased playfully. Audrey cocked an eyebrow at him and leaned forward.

"Lets just say that you definitely shouldn't underestimate me," Audrey whispered seductively. Klaus swallowed and held back the urge to snatch her and ravish her. Audrey winked at her soulmate and pulled away from him.

"Fine, but let's make this more interesting," Klaus suggested. "If I win tonight, I get an encore of that little performance from the other night," Audrey's cheeks warmed at the mention of her spontaneous make out session with the hybrid.

"F-Fine, but if I win you have to do everything I say for a month," Audrey agreed, holding out her hand for him. Klaus smirked and took her hand into his.

"Deal," He said as he shook her hand. Just as she was about to pull her hand away, Klaus tugged her forward so she was crashing into his chest. "Good luck darling, you're gonna need it," He breathed against her neck. Audrey shivered but quickly composed herself and pushed him back. Without saying a word she exited the room to get ready for the evening. Klaus shook his head and laughed to himself, his soulmate was surely something else. He was putting his art supplies away when Elijah entered the room.

"I'm proud of you brother," Elijah chuckled. "For once in your life you're putting aside your pride for someone,"

"What are you going on about, Elijah?" Klaus sighed.

"You never do anything unless it benefits you. Granted, you bet a make out session but still, I've never seen you so happy or selfless before," Elijah encouraged. "Just don't do that thing you do when you self destruct and ruin everything," Klaus was speechless as his brother left the room. All that he said was true but it's not like Klaus wanted to admit it.

The moment Audrey stepped into the Grill she practically ran to Matt Donovan. The blonde football player smiled as his friend jumped into his arms, but that smile quickly dropped when he saw who she arrived with. He had heard about the whole soulmate deal but never really believed it, not until now. "Hey Aud," Matt chuckled, his eyes still glued on the hybrid making his way over to the bar. "What are you doing here?"

"I bet Klaus that I could kick his ass at pool," Audrey laughed as she pulled back. "Plus, I've missed my favorite hunk of a bartender,"

"I've missed you too, but I figured you'd be at the hospital today," Matt stated with confusion. "I mean I get you and Elena are fighting but it's Alaric we're talking about," Now it was Audrey's turn to be confused.

"What do you mean?" She asked as Klaus wrapped an arm around her. "What happened to Alaric?"

"You don't know?" Matt asked shocked. The worried expression on his friend's face gave him his answer and he mentally smacked himself. "The ring has caused Ric to become all crazy. I guess he tried attacking Meredith and she shot him,"

"What?!" Audrey shouted. "No one thought to tell me this?!"

"Love, calm down," Klaus cooed hoping she'd listen to him.

"Calm down?! Alaric got shot and no one told me!" Audrey shouted as tears formed in her eyes. "I get that Elena is pissed at me but not telling me about Ric is so low! He's like family to us and I can't lose another person, Klaus, I can't," By now she was crying and seeing the tears on her face made Klaus livid. He was tempted to kill the doppelgänger right now for all she's done to his soulmate. Instead, he wrapped his arms around Audrey and held her tight as she sobbed. "Why does she hate me for something I didn't even do?" Matt watched the couple and felt guilty for ever resenting his friend. She was right, she wasn't at fault for anything.

"Say the word love and I'll murder everyone in this goddamn town," Klaus huffed seriously. Audrey laughed through her tears and playfully smacked him. "Now, let's get a couple drinks in you so I can win that bet,"

"You wish," Audrey scoffed, cheering up. Four cocktails later she was feeling a lot better. In fact, she forgot about the whole Alaric ordeal and was focused on beating Klaus. She was determined to win but Klaus knew there was no chance in hell that she would. After she sunk three balls into the pockets she eventually missed one. It was now Klaus's turn and it took him less than a minute to sink all of his balls in and the 8 ball, essentially winning the game. "Damn you, Klaus Mikaelson," Audrey grumbled, stomping her foot like an angry child.

"I won fair and square, now pay up," Klaus smirked, stepping forward to claim his prize.

"Not in public!" She scolded. Klaus chuckled at her and cupped her face in his hands. "I'm not one for public affection,"

"Neither am I, but when it comes to you I find that my self control is slim to none," Klaus flirted trying to see how far he could push her. He was leaning closer now, brushing his lips against her own but just when he thought she'd cave in, she pushed him off. Klaus was about to ask her what was wrong but he saw Damon Salvatore walk in and knew why she pulled away. Audrey felt an anger bubble inside her that she never felt before and although it was mostly alcohol, that didn't stop her from storming over to her so called best friend.

"Hey babe, what are you doing here?" Damon asked innocently.

"Did you happen to forget that Alaric, my guardian, is in the damn hospital?!" Audrey screamed angrily. "He was shot and you forgot to tell me!"

"Shit! I knew I forgot to tell you something!" Damon said but Audrey could tell he was lying.

"No. You didn't," Audrey growled. "I think you kept me out of the loop because my precious sister told you to. Because God forbid you don't do everything she tells you to!"

"Audrey, I know you're mad but you need to calm down," Damon insisted. Klaus frowned at the vampire and made his way over to the fighting friends.

"You lied to me! I've been kept in the dark and I've been punished for something I can't even control!" Audrey shouted growing angrier by the second. "Well, I've got a little message for my sister dearest," Damon frowned and opened his mouth to speak but Audrey's fist met his face before he could. Of course, the punch didn't hurt the vampire but it did hurt Audrey.

"Fuck!" She cried out, immediately clutching her hand. Damon went to help his friend but Klaus reacted before him and punched the raven haired vampire so hard it sent him flying into the bar. It felt good to punch the smug prick and Klaus almost forgot about his soulmate who was withering in pain.

"Shit, are you alright?" He asked worriedly.

"I think I broke my hand," Audrey whimpered. Klaus felt his anger rise but the cries of pain coming from Audrey quickly rendered that.

"Come on, Rocky," Klaus chuckled as he lifted the human into his arms. "Let's get you home before you get into more trouble," Audrey just whimpered in response. When they returned back to Klaus's mansion he was careful to set her down on the couch and grab an ice pack for her hand.

"Just give me your blood to fix this," Audrey whined as he placed the ice pack on her hand. Klaus smirked and bit into his wrist before holding it up for her. She drank down his blood greedily to numb the pain. Klaus was amused by this but didn't say a word as she attempted to suck him dry. He pulled his hand away when he decided she had enough and once he did he was met with her adorable pout. "Thank you,"

"You punched Damon Salvatore in the face tonight," Klaus chuckled at her. Audrey smiled at him and shrugged her shoulders casually.

"I've wanted to do that for a while now," She laughed jokingly. "I don't even know why I punched him! Sure, he lied to me but-,"

"Audrey," Klaus stated cutting her off. "You have always been there for everyone, right?" Audrey nodded and tried talking but Klaus cut her off again. "You've never turned your back on anyone no matter what they've done. Now, you get dragged into something and your own sister turns her back on you? You have a right to be mad, love. After all you've done, you don't deserve this," Audrey stared at him and absorbed his words. Everything he said was right but no matter how much she wanted to she couldn't hold any hate for anyone, especially her sister.

"You know what, let's not talk about Elena right now," Audrey sighed. "So, you won the game tonight," She trailed off awkwardly. Klaus smirked and leaned towards her.

"As much as I want to claim my prize I don't exactly want to do it while my soulmate is intoxicated," He whispered softly. Audrey blinked at him and Klaus couldn't help the smile on his face when he saw her cheeks start to glow.

"Wow, you guys are back already," Elijah said as he walked into the living room. "How was your evening?"

"Audrey punched Damon Salvatore in the face," Klaus immediately replied.

"I'm impressed," Elijah laughed. "But I thought you two were friends again,"

"He "forgot" to tell me about Alaric being in the hospital and I sort of freaked out," Audrey mumbled embarrassed. "I'm so tired of being the bad guy. I mean, I don't know how you guys do it,"

"We've had years to get used to it," Elijah smiled. "Trust me, in a couple hundred years you will too,"

"I'm sure," Audrey giggled. "Well boys, I'm tired and I'm no longer drunk so I'm going to bed. Good night,"

"Night," Klaus and Elijah replied together. They watched her leave the room and waited until she was out of sight to start up a conversation. "Tonight when I saw how hurt and angry Audrey was something snapped in me,"

"You are soulmates, brother. You're going to do everything you can to protect her and make her happy. It's what you do when you love someone," Klaus's heart almost stopped at the mention of love. He didn't know if he'd ever get used to that word. "She is going to become the biggest part of your life soon. Remember that," Elijah sighed before exiting the room. Except, what Elijah didn't realize was the Audrey had already become the biggest part of Klaus's life. Even if Klaus didn't want to admit it.
