When Klaus was finished with the blonde human he was feeding on, he dropped her to the floor and looked up at Stefan. "Delicious. Aged to perfection," He smirked.

"Well, I guess the only reason you agreed to this evening, Klaus, is to drive a wedge between me and my brother," Stefan sighed.

"Oh no, you're doing that well enough on your own. Because of Elena, you're gonna lose your brother and you'll only have yourself to blame," Klaus replied. Audrey looked at Stefan and gave him a sad look. When Damon and Elijah walked in, Audrey got the feeling that something was wrong.

"What do you say, Klaus? It's time for you to put something on the table. We've made our offer, now you counter," Damon demanded. Klaus smirked and chuckled.

"Okay. I offer Elena's future happiness. You see, what she needs right now is to be rid of you lot. And to fall in love with a human, maybe that nice football player, you know the blonde one?" Klaus suggested.

"Matt Donovan?" Audrey laughed. All eyes turned to her and slowly her laughter died.

"Really?" Damon asked Klaus.

"Yeah, why not? They'll marry, live a long and fruitful life, and pop out a perfect family," Klaus explained happily.

"And continue the Petrova bloodline. Every few hundred years, you'll have a new doppelgänger to drain and never run out of hybrids, right Klaus?" Stefan questioned. Klaus glanced at Audrey before answering him.

"Consider it a small return on my investment in her well-being. See, after you hand me back the coffin, I'll ensure her safety for the rest of her natural life. You know it's what's best for her," Klaus answered. Audrey hated to admit it, but he did have a point. Klaus stood up and walked over to Stefan. "So, what do you say Stefan, hmm? Do we have a deal?" Stefan stepped closer to Klaus.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked angrily. Klaus held his hand out and Stefan took it.

"Nice try, Klaus. But no deal," Stefan replied with a smirk. Klaus frowned and breaks Stefan's arm. He kicked his leg and breaks it as well. He pulled Stefan over to the fireplace and held his hand in it. Audrey is up and out of her chair, watching the whole scene in horror. Damon attempts to go after Klaus but Elijah stops him by pushing him against the wall.

"What are you doing?!" Damon shouted at Klaus. "Stop!"

"Now, bring me my coffin before I burn him alive," Klaus threatened evilly. Damon glanced over at the frightened Audrey and rushed over to her. He brings her into his arms. Klaus holds in the growl he wanted to let out.

"I'll get it, okay?" Damon answered.

"Go with him, brother. You keep him honest. And when you return, I will make good on my promise to you and I will hand over our family," Klaus promised. Damon begins to walk out of the house, still holding Audrey to him, when Klaus stops him. "Audrey stays,"

"What? No!" Damon shouted, holding Audrey closer to him.

"She stays or I burn Stefan right here," Klaus growls, pushing Stefan further into the fire.

"Okay! Okay," Damon yelled. He lets go of his little bird and looks her in the eyes. "I'll come right back, alright?" She nodded but didn't say anything in return. Damon and Elijah left after that and Audrey stared at Klaus as he held Stefan.

"You don't have to do this," She sighed.

"Unfortunately, I do, love," Klaus replied giving her a soft look.

"Go ahead and kill me. I know you'll do it when he brings the coffin," Stefan grumbled. Klaus pulled Stefan out of the fireplace.

"You really have given up, haven't you? Where's the fight? Where's the ripper?" Klaus taunted. Audrey rolled her eyes at this and walked away to go find a bathroom. When she spotted one she nearly groaned from how extravagant it was. After doing her business she looked at herself in the mirror. The girl staring back looked different. Her eyes were more dull and the bags under her eyes were dark. Audrey shook her head at her reflection and walked out of the bathroom. As she walked back to the dining room she could hear shouting. She started to run and found Klaus being held back by a man while Elijah, Rebekah, and another guy taunted him. "I am the hybrid! I can't be killed! I have nothing to fear from any of you!" Audrey looked around the room to see Damon and Stefan had left. How long was she in the bathroom?

"You will when we have that coffin," Elijah smirked. Audrey's eyes went to Klaus again and she saw the dagger sticking out of his stomach. It was like her mind shut off after that, because the next thing she knew, she was pulling the dagger out and standing in front of Klaus protectively. "Audrey," Elijah stated sternly. She turned to face him but made sure she was blocking Klaus. "Move,"

"N-No," She stuttered. "Don't hurt him," She had no idea why she was protecting him, but it was like her body wasn't her own. She was acting on instincts. She reached behind her with her free hand and grabbed Klaus for some kind of comfort.

"Audrey, this is family business," Rebekah growled to her friend.

"I...I can't explain it but I have to protect him," Audrey replied, holding the dagger up shakily.

"Oh just kill her already!" The man holding Klaus back shouted. A door opening caught everyone's attention. They all gasped as a tall woman walked in.

"Mother?" Rebekah asked in shock.

"You will not kill her," Esther said as she walked over to where Klaus and Audrey were. Kol, who had been holding Klaus, let him go as the shock of seeing his mother settled in. Audrey looked up at the witch as she stood directly in front of her. "Hello, Audrey," Esther greeted with a small smile. She looked over at Klaus who was avoiding eye contact. "Look at me! Do you know why I'm here?"

"You're here to kill me," Klaus answered through tears.

"Niklaus, you are my son and I am here to forgive you. I want us to be a family again," Esther said looking back at her other children who were still in shock. "As for you," She said as she looked at Audrey again. "I have some answers for you. For both of you,"

"What...What do you mean?" Audrey questioned with a stutter.

"You have an instinct to protect Niklaus just like he has instinct to protect you. You feel sparks when you touch one another and there is an undeniable pull between you two. Am I right?" Esther asked the two of them. Audrey and Klaus glanced at each other before looking away.

"How do you know that?" Audrey wondered, her eyes looking at the witch with curiosity.

"I made you, Audrey Gilbert," Esther answered. Audrey's eyes widened in disbelief. "The day of your conception was the day I casted a spell. You were created for one purpose and one purpose only. You are my son's soulmate,"

Audrey hadn't slept at all after everything that happened. When Esther told her that her only purpose in life was to be with Klaus, she left the house without saying a word. Her mind couldn't comprehend anything. She walked aimlessly downstairs to find Elena, Damon, and Stefan all talking in the living room. "It was their mother ,Esther, who was sealed in that coffin," Elena stated.

"As in the Original Witch?" Stefan asked surprised.

"What? How is she even alive? Thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago," Damon grumbled. Audrey flinched at his words and silently cursed herself for it. She needed to find some way to stop this soulmate bond.

"I don't know. I'm guessing she has a couple connections in the witching community. Elijah said that she wants to live in peace with her family, including Klaus," Elena explained with a sigh. Her eyes glanced away from the brothers only to land on her sister. "Where the hell have you been?! I turn around at the hospital yesterday to see you were gone! Bill died yesterday and Alaric almost did too!"

"I can explain, alright?" Audrey said, holding her hand up. "Just..stop shouting," Audrey stumbled into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl.

"Why were you with Klaus last night, Audrey? After everything he's done," Elena accused judgmentally.

"I made a mistake, Elena. We all have made mistakes before," Audrey spat back at her sister. "Look, you all know how I am. I thought I owed that freak something but I didn't," She shook her head and angrily got out the cereal. "I'm sorry, okay?"

"It's fine you just can't keep scaring us all like that," Elena said more softly. Audrey nodded and began to make herself breakfast.

"Looks like we're all screwed. That coffin was the only thing stopping Klaus from tearing us to shreds," Stefan sighed, running his hand over his face.

"Anyone else feeling a little used right now?" Damon asked.

"Look, Elijah promised me that his family wouldn't hurt any of us," Elena said. The doorbell went off, causing Audrey to jump. "I believe him," Elena walked to the door and her younger sister followed. When they open it they see no one there. Two envelopes laid on the front porch of the Gilbert residence. One had Elena's name on it, the other had Audrey's. Both girls picked up their envelopes and looked at each other. Elena shuts the door behind them as they step back into their house.

"What is it?" Damon asked.

"It's an invitation. 'Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration.'," Elena read.

"Who the hell are the Mikaelsons?" Stefan asked.

"The Original Family," Audrey answered for him. She reads her invitation and notices the exact same message written on it.

"It's not bad enough they're moving into town, now they want a housewarming gift?" Damon scoffs. "Unbelievable!" Elena turned her invitation over and gasps.

"Wait, there's a note on the back. 'Elena I think it's time that we finally meet, Esther.'," Elena looked up at the two brothers and frowned. Audrey flipped over her invitation and found a note on hers too. 'I can't wait to see you tonight, soulmate. Klaus.' Audrey read the words over and over again while her heart went haywire in her chest. "Does yours have something on the back too?" Elena asked, bringing her sister out of her thoughts.

"No," Audrey lied. "There's nothing on it,"
