《Sinful |Klaus Mikaelson||》The Ties That Bind

Something was wrong, or at least Audrey thought so. She was walking aimlessly around a graveyard and the wind was blowing furiously. There was a coffin up ahead and something was drawing Audrey to it. As she got closer a voice began to whisper to her. "He...destiny...," She frowned at herself and looked around. "Soul,"

"What?" Audrey asked.

"He...is...your...destiny," The voice continued. "He...soul-,"

As she jolted awake, Audrey noticed she was covered with cold sweat. What the hell was that dream about? She panted as she looked around her room worriedly. It was barely morning but she knew Elena would be up. As if on cue the older Gilbert ran into the room. "Wha-What's wrong?" She asked tiredly.

"Nothing..just a weird dream," Audrey answered, unsure of herself. Elena sighed and walked over to her sister's bed, sitting down at the end of it.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked cautiously.

"I mean...it was just so strange," Audrey explained. "I'm walking through the graveyard and all of a sudden this coffin appears. Then this whispering started and it didn't make sense but it kept saying he and destiny, and soul," Elena's eyes widened but she didn't interrupt her sister. "It said 'He is your destiny and something about soul'. I don't know, it was all weird. I doubt it meant anything though,"

"So you dreamed of a coffin and Stefan has Klaus's coffins," Elena pointed out. "Do you think it's connected?"

"I don't know. I think it's just a meaningless dream. I probably shouldn't take pain pills before I sleep anymore," Audrey joked. "Well, that and eat a half pint of ice cream," Elena opened her mouth to respond but she heard her phone go off in her room. She silently got up and walked over to retrieve her shrieking phone. Audrey leaned back in her bed and thought about her dream some more. After getting bored she grabbed her phone to search for entertainment. When Elena walked back in the room she leaned against the door frame and sighed dramatically.

"Bonnie just called and asked for me to meet her at the witch house. Do you want to come?" Elena asked.

"Nah, I was hoping to not deal with any sort of supernatural drama today," Audrey answered. "Tell BonBon I'm sorry," Elena nodded and walked out of the room again. It didn't take long for Audrey to drift back to sleep after that.

The second time Audrey woke up that day was because of the voices she could hear downstairs. When she checked her phone she saw it was nearly noon and groaned from how late she slept in. She got up from her bed and walked out to see who was here. She stopped when she heard Damon's voice. "Sooner. Abby Bennett Wilson, North Carolina. Born in Mystic Falls Hospital, graduated from Mystic Falls High...blah, blah, blah," Audrey listened closely. "A little compulsion helps sped up the research process," Damon explained.

"This is her," Bonnie gasped.

"Yep. Road trip. I call shotgun," Damon announced.

"Yeah-no," Elena quickly interjected.

"Want me to hang out in the back with you?" Damon asked suggestively.

"You're not coming, Damon," Elena stated more aggressively than she meant.

"Why? I'm the one who found her," Damon protested.

"Okay, Damon. Look, Bonnie hasn't seen her mom in over fifteen years. We don't need your snarky commentary narrating the experience," Elena explained. There was a moment of silence before Bonnie spoke up.

"What's going on with you two?" She asked hesitantly.

"We kissed. Now it's weird. Have a great trip," Damon spat before storming out of the Gilbert house. Audrey was froze with shock. Damon and Elena kissed? She thought her heart would be breaking but it wasn't. She knew she was over Damon but this was actual proof that she was. She didn't hear anything else for a while, just shuffling of papers before the door reopened and closed. Once the shock subsided, anger settled in its place. Her sister kissed her best friend and didn't bother to tell her, neither of them bothered to tell her. Audrey clenched her fist and thought of very angry thoughts as she walked into her bathroom to shower. When she was done she threw on some clothes and left for The Grill. The stubborn brunette figured a few drinks was just what she needed. As she got to the bar she ordered a Long Island iced tea to sooth her frustrations.

"How is this bar still open if they serve minors?" A familiar voice asked teasingly.

"I really didn't want to deal with you today," Audrey groaned sipping from her drink. Klaus smirked at the girl's bluntness.

"I would say I'm sorry but honestly, I'm not," Klaus chuckled. "I enjoy your company more than anyone else around here,"

"Well, you shouldn't," Audrey sighed sarcastically. "I'm not a very fun person to be around,"

"I beg to differ," Klaus stated, drawing her attention. "You're probably the most complex and most interesting person I've met in this town,"

"Buttering me up won't work, Klaus," Audrey laughed. Klaus smiled at her response. "Besides, you probably have something brewing. Stefan did make you send your hybrids away and that has to piss you off,"

"And what makes you think that?" Klaus asked playfully.

"I know you better than you think, Mr. Big Bad Hybrid," She replied in the same playfully manor as him. She blamed the strong drink for her behavior.

"So, why are you here? Drinking alone and not with your sister or Caroline, or that insufferable Damon," Klaus was watching the human closely and noticed the way she cringed at the mention of Damon and Elena. "Ah, so it's Damon and Elena you're avoiding,"

"You could say that," She grumbled into her drink.

"Want to talk about it?" Klaus suggested. "I'm a surprisingly good listener," Audrey looked over at the hybrid and saw that he was being serious for once.

"Why are you here? Why are you being nice to me, I mean do you want to give Stefan more leverage?" Audrey asked. She was going to ask about the bracelet and note too but decided against it.

"Stefan has all the leverage he needs now," Klaus answered. "The other night when he called me and threatened yours and Elena's lives, I wasn't thinking about my hybrids," Audrey looked over at him in shock. "I was thinking about doing whatever I could to save you," Her breath hitched and their eyes met. Nobody talked for what seemed like an eternity. Klaus eventually finished off his drink and left the bar. Audrey was left behind with her thoughts. Why would the guy who had tried to hurt her and her family say something like that? Why would the man who has ruined everyone she cares about lives, say something like that to her? Audrey looked down at her half empty drink and pushed it away. As much as she wanted to drink everything away she knew she shouldn't. So she got up from her chair and walked out of the bar. Day drinking was for losers anyways.

After texting Caroline and getting told that she was at the Old Lockwood Cellar that was exactly where Audrey was heading. When she arrived, she heard screaming so she ran in to see what was happening. "Can't he just rest for one second?" Caroline asked her father worriedly.

"We're doing this my way, Caroline. If you can't handle it, you should go," Bill yelled over Tyler's screams.

"Whoa," Audrey gasped as she observed everything.

"He's right, Caroline. Just go!" Tyler panted out before letting out another scream.

"What? No! Tyler!" Caroline objected. Tyler glanced at Audrey and nodded at her. Audrey nodded back and grabbed her friend's arm gently.

"Come on, Care," Audrey cooed, pulling her friend out of the cellar. Caroline was a crying mess but still left. When they were outside she could finally breathe again. "Are you okay?" Caroline nodded slowly.

"Yeah..um..Ty-Tyler is trying to make himself turn and I..," She couldn't finish her sentence because she began crying. Audrey hugged her and rubbed her back soothingly.

"It's going to be okay, Caroline. I promise," Caroline ignored her and continued to cry. "Caroline!" Her cries stopped. "I am your person, alright? I am telling you that everything will be okay. Even if it's not we'll still get through this. We always do. I'm pretty sure a freaking meteor can crash into our town right now and we'd somehow get through it!" After Audrey's outburst neither of them said anything. Caroline was the first to laugh and once she started so did Audrey. The two began to laugh until they could feel it in their abs.

"A meteor?" Caroline panted out through her laughter. Audrey nodded her head and bent over to hold her stomach. They continued their outburst in laughing until they heard screaming.

"What was that?" Audrey asked, still laughing slightly as she came down from her happy high.

"I don't know," Caroline said. They glanced at each other before running down to the cellar, where they saw Tyler attacking Bill. "DADDY!" Caroline screamed before throwing Tyler off of her father. When Tyler hit the wall he snapped out of it. "Audrey! Call 911!" Audrey nodded and did as she told. It didn't take long for the ambulance to arrive. As Bill got taken away, Audrey held Caroline's hand in comfort.

"We'll get through this, Care," Audrey whispered still in shock. "We'll get through this,"

Caroline and Audrey sat in the waiting room at possibly the worst hospital in the world, waiting to hear about Bill Forbes. "I hate this place," Audrey muttered.

"Yeah, me too. I mean the motto for this hospital should be 'Come here if you want to die or get turned into a supernatural creature.' Like seriously," Caroline grumbled crossing her arms over her chest. Audrey looked at her friend and cracked a smile.

"Father Forbes will be okay, because let's be honest here. He's kind of a badass," Audrey laughed which made Caroline laugh.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," Caroline smiled. "Hey, thanks for being here with me. I mean, you would be anyways but I know you had problems of your own you wanted to talk about and still you're here supporting me,"

"Honestly, my problems don't even come close to yours, Carebear," Audrey sighed.

"True, but still. I know you want to talk about them," Caroline stated suggestively. "Besides, I totally need to get my mind off my father and my hybrid boyfriend who attacked said father,"

"Damon and Elena kissed," Audrey blurted out. "And neither one of them decided to tell me. Oh and it's not the first time, so I'm pretty sure they're starting to like each other. Which is fine but I'm still mad about the not telling me part because I've told both of them everything. Well, almost everything, I tell you everything, but that's not the point. They should've told me right?" Caroline gave her friend the 'really?' look. "What?"

"Why are you upset about this?" Caroline asked. "Is it because of you still liking Damon? Or is it because of you still being mad at Elena for the whole sending Jeremy away,"

"It's...neither. I don't like Damon and I'm not mad at Elena," Audrey sighed putting her head in her hands. "I think I've been really stressed out lately,"

"You think? Stefan tried to kill you! I'd be a wreck if I were you, Aud," Caroline exclaimed, shaking her head.

"Well, it's more than that," Audrey admitted. Caroline widened her eyes and leaned forward in her seat.

"Oh my god, spill!" She shouted, drawing attention from some of the people around them.

Audrey glanced around and shot Caroline a look. She just shrugged. "Klaus...has been acting strangely nice to me lately, and I don't know," Audrey thought about going into more detail but held it back.

"Well you don't like him or anything right?" Caroline asked cautiously. "Because whether he's being nice to you or not, he's still sort of the bad guy,"

"I know! It's just..weird," Audrey sighed. "He saved your life, Caroline. He's saved mine like three times already and it's just been getting to me,"

"He saved my life after he told Tyler to bite me," Caroline scoffed. "I mean, I don't know why he keeps saving yours but it's probably for some kind of debt, because Klaus does not just do acts of kindness for nothing," Audrey thought about what her friend had said and wanted to agree, but she couldn't. Klaus was evil, but he'd been showing her a different side of him lately.

"Caroline?" Meredith Fell asked. Caroline looked at the young doctor and stood up. "Your father is asking to see you," Meredith smiled. Caroline released the breath she'd been holding and smiled back, thanking the doctor.

"Are you going to be okay?" Audrey asked her friend for what seemed like the hundredth time. Caroline nodded and hugged her.

"I will be now," She sighed happily.

"Call me if anything happens, okay?" Audrey said as she pulled back. Caroline nodded before walking away to see her father. Audrey watched her go and thought about the time she waited in this exact same spot for her parents and sister. She didn't know why that memory came to her, but she smiled at it. Even though it was sad for her to think about that she was happy Caroline wouldn't be going through the same thing.
