"You know, I've been thinking that we should change some of the cheers," Rebekah told Audrey as they stretched at practice. Audrey raised an eyebrow at the Original and shook her head.

"Trust me, that would never happen. Besides, most of our cheers are stolen from 'Bring It On' since it's me and Caroline's favorite movie," Audrey explained, reaching for the end of her foot as she straddled the ground.

"You need to show me this movie," Rebekah stated with a smirk. "Since you've become my new bestie and all," Audrey stopped stretching and put her hand over her heart.

"Awe Beks, you didn't even have to compel me!" Audrey exclaimed with fake sincere. Rebekah rolled her eyes and laughed. As she looked up, she found Elena walking their way. When she was close enough she stood up to greet her.

"You! Goody!" Rebekah smiled sarcastically.

"I was hoping we could talk," Elena stated sternly.

"About what? Stefan? Don't worry. I'm off him until he starts treating me better. In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest," Rebekah said with boredom.

"Actually, I'd rather talk about this," Elena replied as she held up a picture of Rebekah's name carved into the cave wall in Runic. "I'm curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years running from your father," Audrey spotted the way Rebekah tensed and knew Elena had hit a soft spot.

"I should get back to the girls. Homecoming is right around the corner," Rebekah growled before turning away from Elena.

"Well then, maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him," Elena threatened, stopping Rebekah in her tracks.

"You're bluffing! You don't know where he is. No one does," Rebekah spat as he defense rose. She was on edge now.

"So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?" Elena asked mockingly.

"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!" Rebekah pleaded.

"Then tell me," Elena insisted.

"Why do you want to know?" Rebekah shot back angrily.

"Why don't you want to wake him?" Elena asked.

"I need to get back to the girls," Rebekah sighed, turning around again to go back to the squad. Audrey offered her a smile as Bekah came back but she just shook her off. As practice went on Rebekah remained hostile. When it was time to pack up, Audrey finally approached her.

"Bekah, what's wrong?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest.

"Why is your sister digging into my family's life?" Rebekah growled.

"I don't know," Audrey lied. "What, is it the whole Mikael thing?"

"Yes, it's the Mikael thing! Do you have any idea what he'll do if she wakes him!?" Rebekah shouted in fear. Fear that Audrey's never seen Rebekah show before.

"Come on," Audrey sighed, taking Rebekah's hand. "I need to show you something," Rebekah frowned in confusion but followed the human anyways. Audrey pulled the Original to her car and drove them to the Salvatore's house. When they got there she grabbed Damon's music speakers and brought them back to the living room so she could plug her phone into them. "Okay. So whenever Caroline or I get stressed we do this silly thing to help us out," Audrey explained as she looked for a song on her phone. When one began to play she started to dance to the beat.

"I don't understand," Rebekah said slowly as she watched the girl move around. Audrey danced over to Rebekah and took her hands.

"Dance it out," Audrey stated. "Dance it out, because it's stupid but it's also fun," Rebekah still didn't understand so Audrey tried to get her dance. Eventually, the 1000 year old vampire loosened up and started to dance. For the first time in a long time, Rebekah felt happy from something as stupid as just dancing. The two girls laughed wildly as they twirled around each other. When the song ended they fell onto the couch together and sighed happily.

"Wow. That did help, surprisingly," Rebekah giggled.

"I told you!" Audrey laughed. "Like I said. Caroline and I do this all the time. Probably, because we're stressed out 24/7," Rebekah turned her head and looked at the brunette.

"You and Caroline. You're...best friends, right?" Rebekah asked cautiously. Audrey turned her head to look at Rebekah and nodded.

"We've been friends since we were babies," Audrey answered. "There hasn't been a time in my life that Caroline wasn't there," Rebekah listened closely and smiled sadly when Audrey finished. She wanted someone like that in her life.

"I wish I had that kind of friendship. Ever since we became vampires, my family and I have been running. Whenever we settle down somewhere and finally think it's a new start, Mikael shows up and we're running again. I never had time to make friends or even have a boyfriend. Plus, Nik is always controlling everything. In the 1920s, after I met Stefan, I was finally done running. I chose Stefan over Nik and because of that he daggered me," Rebekah explained, capturing Audrey's full attention. "I loved Stefan so much that I was willing to fight for him. Now, it's Elena who's doing that," It grew quiet after Bekah's speech, mainly because no one knew what to say.

"Why are you and Nik running from Mikael?" Audrey asked, not even realizing that she called Klaus by Rebekah's nickname.

"He wants to kill us," Rebekah answered. "Actually, he wants to kill Klaus," Audrey shivered at the last sentence. "Enough about this dreary subject. I need a Homecoming dress. Want to help me out?"

"Actually, that just reminded me that I have to go fit into mine," Audrey replied, standing up from the couch. "I didn't even get to pick out my own dress, yet I have a feeling I'll still love it,"

"Caroline picked out your dress for you?" Rebekah asked curiously.

"Yep! But only because she knows that I hate shopping," Audrey laughed. "I'll come back over when I'm done though and you can show me your dress, okay?" Rebekah nodded and smiled. Warmth filled her heart at the thought of actually having a real friend. Audrey gave her one last smile before leaving. The moment she got into her car she got out her phone. "Elena? Hey, look. I know you're going to hate me but I don't think we should wake Mikael,"

"What?! Are you joking?" Elena asked.

"Rebekah has been running her whole life. I know this whole Klaus thing means a lot to everyone, but it's not fair. Mikael won't just stop at Klaus either. He'll try to kill all vampires," Audrey explained.

"Why are you sympathizing with Rebekah? Or Klaus?! Do you remember all the crap he did to us? He's the reason that Jenna and John are dead!" Elena shouted with frustration.

"I know that, okay! I know what he's done and who he is but I've also gotten to know his sister. And she may be crazy but she's just like us! She wants to live her life and not run from it. I mean could you imagine what that must be like, Elena? To run from your own father for a thousand years!" Audrey insisted. This was the little Gilbert's fatal flaw. She saw good in people that others never did.

"Audrey," Elena sighed with frustration. "Just...get home so you can try on your dress," As her older sister hung up the phone, Audrey felt proud. She thought she had gotten through to her sister. When she got home and walked through the doors Damon greeted her instantly.

"Hey!" She smiled at him.

"Hey little bird," Damon greeted back. "Look, don't hate me," He started off. Audrey gave him a look of confusion as he tore her vervain coated bracelet off her wrist. "Sleep," He compelled as he looked into her eyes. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she collapsed in Damon's arms. He lifted his friend up and carried her over to the couch where he laid her down.

"Are we doing the right thing?" Elena asked the vampire.

"Yes," Damon answered. "Audrey can't be a good person when it comes to these people,"

"Damon...," Elena trailed off.

"No, Elena," Damon snapped. "This is what she needs. She can't get her feelings involved," Elena glanced at her sister and nodded. When Caroline arrived at the Gilbert house, Elena and Damon left to talk with Rebekah. It took about three hours for Audrey to wake up. She jerked awake gasping for breath and looking around frantically. When her eyes caught Caroline she relaxed.

"What the hell happened?!" Audrey asked furiously. When memories of Damon compelling her came back to her mind she grew angrier. "I'm going to kill that little prick!" She screamed, standing from the couch.

"You can do that later!" Caroline said, stepping in the way of her friend. "Right now, you have a fabulous dress to try on," Caroline grabbed her friend's hand and led her up to her room.

"Caroline, I need to go-," Audrey began but the blonde vampire cut her off.

"Nope! You are trying on this dress right now, Audrey Gilbert," Caroline stated sternly. Audrey huffed but didn't argue anymore. Caroline grabbed out the dress and handed it over to her friend. "The minute I saw this dress, I knew it was the one for you," Audrey ignored her friend and slipped out of her clothes as fast as she could. When she wiggled into the dress and had Caroline zip her up, she went to glance in the mirror. Only, she had to do a double take at what she saw. The black, fitted dress clung to her every curve. The long sleeves were laced beautifully and the back opened up with the same lace pattern. The dress ended above her knees but in an elegant way. She truly did look gorgeous.

"Oh my god...oh my god!" Audrey gasped in shock. "Caroline! This dress is amazing!"

"I know!" Caroline squealed. "It totally suits you too!" Audrey did a twirl in the mirror and smiled widely at her friend.

"I love you so much Caroline Forbes," Audrey laughed as she embraced the blonde.

"I love you too, Audrey Gilbert," As the two girls hugged, Audrey thought about the other blonde vampire at the Salvatore's house. She thought about how Rebekah wanted a friendship like this. So, slowly she withdrew from Caroline and sighed.

"I know this is crazy, but I need to go see Rebekah," Audrey stated. Caroline smiled and nodded.

"I know you better than anyone else," Caroline replied. "You are a good person to people who don't deserve it and somehow you change people. You changed Damon and he used to be the big bad wolf around here. So, never stop doing that because you solve more problems than anyone else," Audrey smiled widely.

"Thank you, Caroline," She said breathy. She kissed her friend's cheek which emitted giggles from her.

"Oh, and Damon let it slip about your sex dream," Caroline laughed. "Hot, but something tells me it wasn't really about me," Audrey was shocked. Caroline really did know her better than anyone else.

"Rebekah!" Audrey called out as she stepped into the Salvatore's house. Rebekah sped down to the living room in tears. "Rebekah...," The blonde didn't even wait before throwing herself into the human's arms. Audrey held her new friend and consoled her as she cried. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"He-," Rebekah got out before she started sobbing again. Audrey held her friend and decided she'd ask her what was wrong later. Somehow the two girls ended up in Rebekah's room later that night. Audrey was laying against the headboard, reading a book, while Rebekah was asleep on top of her. Somewhere in between sobbing and trying to talk she must've exhausted herself. Audrey didn't mind the blonde sleeping on her because she knew how hurt Rebekah must be. When Damon came back home that night he immediately smelled Audrey. He rolled his eyes when he walked up the stairs to see his friend laying in bed with the blonde Original.

"Really?" He asked her.

"I know you think I'm dumb for this, but I think I'm a good person," Audrey stated confidently. "Rebekah is a scared girl who has no friends. I'm her friend now. If you don't like that, then screw off. You or Elena don't get to dictate my life anymore, okay?" Audrey answered, narrowing her eyes at Damon.

"Little bird, I hope you know what you're doing," Damon sighed before walking away. Audrey smiled triumphantly. She glanced down at Rebekah and smiled again.

"I'm a good fucking person," She said to herself as she opened her book back up.
